My memory of this is it came out my senior year of high school. And, in our Creative Writing class, one of the guys in our class wrote a review of this album. At the time, I didn’t realize that the guitar riff was sampled from “Machine Gun” by The Commodores.

2025-12-27 21:55:50 +0000 UTCThis is one of my favorite Beastie Boys songs and definitely a great video. One of my favorite parts was at the beginning, when MCA is rolling along in that 70s Caddy, he pops in a Foghat 8-track!! It automatically brings me back to Slow Ride, one of Foghat's biggest hits. The Beastie's do their own song called Slow Ride. I don't know if they shot a video for it, but the song is awesome, as usual. "Rhymin' & Stealin'" (someone else recommended it, also) is great. What I love about it is that it features two great early 70s samples, a drum sample and a guitar sample. The drum sample I think you stand a good chance of getting, I believe you've done the song before at some point. The drum sample...maybe? Not sure how much of THAT bands material you've covered. Either way...great song. Also the video for "Three MCs & One DJ". The video version of the song differs a bit from the studio version, but it's a fantastic video! And I think 'Shake Your Rump' is a must see as well!!

2025-12-27 18:41:57 +0000 UTCPaul’s Boutique was such a classic album! A lot of the video is homage to 70’s funk(most of the music is sampled from 70’s funk records). Yes, they were paying homage to Saturday Night Fever!
