Dexter S6 E11 'Talk to the Hand' Full Length

Dexter S6 E11 'Talk to the Hand' Full Length

I don't hate the Debra "in love" angle myself. And for me it helps justify her decisions in later seasons. I get why people dislike it but I always thought it was a good plot point to explore for Debra who has always been this messy, complicated, storm of a person. And if you look at the way they grew up, it does make sense from a psychological standpoint. People do develop "complicated feelings" when they experience trauma together.

Glad to finally join you over here. Little late tho.

Honestly everyone saying they saw Deb being In love with Dexter is out of nowhere but she been flirty with him since s1 it was kinda obvious idk

Agreed, too cringy..

For me, it wasn't all about them playing brother and sister but they were married in real life, separated for a year at this point and the divorce would be final 2 weeks after this episode aired. They were total pros but I read that the writers wanted a full on love scene and Jennifer Carpenter refused. Ack, that would have been REALLY awkward

Janet

I gotta say, every time I watch an episode, I wanna go watch White Chicks right after...if only for "that scene" with Jen Carpenter πŸ˜‚ If ya know, ya know. Deb is still adorable AF and kinda tragic with all she's going through--like being a pawn in Maria's friggin' games for one. And the whole therapist's 'you wanna fuck your brother' angle?? What the ACTUAL 🀬??? Great, now she plants THAT seed in her brain, like she hasn't got enough going on, and let's not forget the Matthew's situation. I don't know what I would have done in Deb's situation. But...naturally, Deb does nothing at all and gets the blame anyway, thanks to Cpt. Douche LaGuerta there! Are we really gonna go through 6 seasons with Deb & Dex being brother and sister only for them to start bangin'?? And I'm sorry, but Quinn has a been a dink since day 1. I never saw the 'nice guy', even through his Debra days. He may not be anywhere near as manipulative as LaGuerta...but still a huge dick. Just when something happens and you think 'wait, he might actually be a decent guy, something else happens, then...nope...still a dick! And Angel's comment to him about needing a partner he can trust?? Left me wondering 'does he still want Quinn as a partner cause he saved his life, or doesn't want to partner with him anymore because of what happened that led to him (Angel), getting caught by Travis? You kinda knew Dex had to have gotten out of the boat...wouldn't die in the penultimate episode, right??

Jaime and Cersei tell Deb and Dexter "Hold my beer"

Ah yes, another reference to the Dresden Dolls of Foxworth Hall. One day, she needs to react to the film. The original, not the cheap Lifetime version. So few people remember what a huge hit those books were.

BurleyLeaf

It's jump the shark and they think they had a reason. On to the next episode

Janet

Agreed, as a guy with 4 sisters (and host of cousins like sisters), Debra's mutual dependency & appreciation for Dexter is not out of the norm at all considering she has no outside friends or family that are as close as they are

AND THIS HERE.....is where i went "....I think the show just got bad", the therapist, the only thing that wouldve made up for her coming to that conclusion is if she was a fake the whole time posing as a amateur therapist. No, no & NO, her jumping to that conclusion was lackluster writing at its finest. It blows my mind they would take Debra there, theres so many other rational things that couldve been worked on about her relationship & dependency on her brother, sexual attraction is not. I had to get that out πŸ˜† thats why I was like "for the love of God Amber please let us get through this messy moment QUICKLY!"🀣

I'm a guy with no sisters, but I know a sibling bond can be very strong. I think the therapist got Deb really off the deep end in overthinking the relationship.
