Old and New Model Comparison

Images in the previous post

Multiple choice is now allowed, had to delete the other poll with three votes in already so please revote again.

There is a TLDR below.

So I want to make a couple notes of disclosure as this is not a fair comparison (I cannot use the same training state for both models as it is a compatibility issue) so there will be discrepancies with some of them being a little older, but I did have a newer model version of it from the same dataset which is why I chose these characters.

Note 1: Senjouhara (purple haired girl) for the new model is not the same model I used for the first half from the commission recently. This new model is what I would be using from now unless a commission specifically requests the initial new model.

Note 2: I did some inpainting and editing on both sides (not completely, but just enough for glancing in between). It did take a lot more effort to get at least a decent base for the old models even with the controlnet helping for consistency.

Note 3: The old model is generally more inflexible and requires more effort to get into newer poses so I am biased towards the new model (the time spent decreases dramatically and I don't have to go past midnight working on this... well I still work on this past midnight so it doesn't matter lol but this is for my sanity).

Note 3 part 2: You probably realized my more recent work (with the old model) had started to become a bit more similar in poses and this is more of me using other tools (like controlnet) that is built off of the past work I've done to increase efficiency and compensate for time loss in training new characters.

Note 4: While training new characters for the new model does take longer than the old one, the time spent generating is much less than the older one.

Note 5:Should the newer model be higher in votes, I will not abandon the old model completely (It is there if a commission is specifically asking for it just be aware I cannot do the same poses as the newer model does due to limitations.)

TLDR; Its a comparison, just vote which one you like more.

Comments

New Model and Resized Resolution should be the way to go, I think it was the original resolution that ended up giving me the "too-wide" feeling, specially if you look at their faces, but lets see what everyone else has to say.
