THATS NOT HOW YOU APOLOGISE ODYSSEUS!!! THATS MAKING EXCUSES! THEY ARE DIFFERENT!,

2024-04-06 13:09:39 +0000 UTCFun fact! Odysseus’ name means to anger/to bring anger/ hatred which is so funny to me. Like imagine you meet this guy and you’re like “poor guy I wonder why his name is fucking asshole” and then you have one (1) conversation with him.
Sorry if I said that wrong
2024-03-27 07:29:04 +0000 UTC"you never know who you can trust" isn't quite "you shouldn't trust anyone" though, and Great Master of Specific Wording Odysseus should have known that. Trusting anyone with the bag would have been a gamble, yes. But no more than ostensibly distrusting his entire crew and giving himself sleep deprivation until his body gave in.

2024-03-24 22:34:38 +0000 UTC"Odysseus, has there been a single course of action in your entire life that you've spared more than six milliseconds considering" I understand why you'd say that lol, but in fairness to Odysseus, his options in that situation are accept the deal from the god who could possibly help them or don't accept the deal and then his men are sunk in the storm and can't get home. So really how much thinking does he have to do when it's accept or die? And like, of his in-the-moment decisions the only ones which I'd say really backfired are the saying his name to Polyphemus and shouting at Athena, both of which came after he had just watched his closest friend get pulped, so can he really be completely blamed for losing his cool?

2024-03-24 22:00:39 +0000 UTCI mean, even if he'd maintained that relationship, a legit god just told him that he shouldn't trust anyone, not even his friends, I'd say it makes sense that he'd want to have his eyes on the bag at all times.

2024-03-24 21:51:54 +0000 UTCAs I understand it, Telemachus’ face is obscured because Odysseus doesn’t know what his son looks like— he hasn’t seen him since he was an infant

2024-03-23 17:14:22 +0000 UTCLove these reactions. Ody's big thing is...I'm unsure of how to phrase it. It's impulsivity, but born out of confidence in wit & charisma? ("Wanna play a game?" "Sure!") Same bravado that let him just be like "Come On Out Goddess of Wisdom & Battle Tactics, I tricked you!", and the same reason he manages to be friendly, but assume he can just...talk his way out of anything. An "I can win this exchange and get exactly what I want" attitude. All Poiseidon wanted was an apology, and that's the one thing Ody figured he could talk his way out of as well. I just think it's fascinating that even *after* that blows up in his face, he's right back to a cheerful "All I gotta do is-"

2024-03-23 00:30:48 +0000 UTC*rubs hands* 1. "Odysseus, has there been a single course of action in your entire life that you've spared more than six milliseconds considering" come on now, he spent a whole song waffling about what to do with that baby 2. I am legally obligated to mention that canonically the wind spirits are winions, just like the lotus eaters (the winion page on the Epic wiki is spoiler-free at this point) 3. "buh-bye" they're such little troublemakers i love them 4. "purely musically speaking I think this is my favorite song" shout out to all the people whose favorite is Hold Them Down. PURELY MUSICALLY SPEAKING. (it's me I'm people) 5. "for nine days i've stayed wide awake" if only you'd built and maintained a mutually trusting relationship with your second in command you might have been able to sleep in shifts my dude. but ~no~ /Poseidon voice 6. "I swear the screen didn't freeze" thank you I did wonder for a split second 7. "I don't wanna do this, I changed my mind" honestly no blame, it's terrifying 8. "it isn't very often that I get pissed off" all of Greek mythology disagrees, your godship 9. "I think this is genuine?" quite, but it's also not an apology 10. I find it fascinating that this is the second video I see where the person reacting misreads/mishears "hopefulness" as "hopelessness". 11. Poseidon repeating what Odysseus said to Polyphemus just makes me imagine the Cyclops calling daddy to complain and give him a play-by-play of what the mean Greek did to him 12. And now Odysseus is down to one ship out of twelve. I HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PACING 13. "and then question what to do with my life once I'm caught up" : look for reaction videos, mostly

2024-03-22 13:58:50 +0000 UTCWhy did he leave 43 alive if he's just going to kill Odysseus anyway- Poseidon is simply fulfilling Polyphemus's original deal for the wine. "You shall be the final man who dies."

2024-03-22 13:43:21 +0000 UTCI ADORE how Ani had the baby that Poseidon dropped splatter on the desk match the lyric "you are far too nice." It makes the lyric go so hard. Odysseus thinks that is the worst thing that he has ever done and is still is -still- so shook about it that he isn't -looking- at the wrathful ocean god right in front of him. It's just chef's kiss of cruelty on Poseidon's part. Unlike

2024-03-22 13:36:29 +0000 UTCMortise- Gigi hasn't confirmed to my knowledge, but I took the scribbles on Temeluchus's eyes to mean that since Odysseus hasn't been home for 10 years, he has a rough idea of what his now 10 year old kid looks like. Also, I'm one of those people who joined for the trial only to cancel. But since you're a whole mood, I'm rejoining.

2024-03-22 02:37:06 +0000 UTCOoh it going down fam get some honey and lemon you need it. “My name is Mortius and I am terrified” lol mood. Bruh where the heck is this cover imma be hunting that down, I’m waiting for you to do epic covers! I know where I’m going next. Ooh Anniflamma is good too, prepare for horseidon lol that bugger is nightmare fuel. I think you’ll appreciate Gigi’s petty sadist tho so I’m definitely gonna watch both. And hey it’s a way to support my fave auditory processing girly ^_^ *Burp* lol yep that’s my $10 right there #NoRegrets It’s not just you, Aolus is pretty unknown, I think Jay just wanted to play with his floating islands. He initially heard about it and thought it sounded cool then learned after writing Storm that a floating island was something else and he was like “lol don’t care I’m still keeping it” and here we are. Oh yeah no the character who introduces themselves with a cackle definitely isn’t going to mess with him. Lol CHA 20 Bard strikes again immarite? XD good thing Eury isn’t there he’d have an aneurysm. Haha I was waiting for you to realise what the winions were saying xD it’s gonna go down. Awww I was curious for your thoughts on “everything’s changed since polities” turns out your thoughts are just sad. Which, yk, to be fair…. Aolus is my kid’s fave character too! She loves this song. Also it’s okay don’t worry Telemachus’ eyes are only omitted because he doesn’t know Telemachus as a teen that’s all. Speaking of the kids but the ending when you hear Poseidon ask “do you know who I am” the first time we heard that my kid was like @_@ “nope and I’m totally cool with that no thank you”. So yk very relatable. Water brat knows how to make an entrance. Lol “I don’t wanna do this I changed my mind” mood xD poor boy you’re not gonna be ok. Also the “danger is here” theme features heavily in this one cause, yk, Poseidon is the danger, lol. The chorus sings “Poseidon” in the danger theme and later they’ll sing “captain, captain” in it too as they die. He has such a cool voice doesn’t he? He has the lovely soft swell when he needs to, the growl of crashing waves, and all the beauty and danger of the ocean. He’s so good. But also terrifying horseidon hasn’t even activated yet 😅 I’m so worried for you. The parallel is definitely there btw he even drops the baby like he’s mocking Ody for doing it once but then not finishing Polyphemus. Sore throat as a vocalist is a mood, I killed my belt while I had a cold last week and I’m very sad, I feel you fam. Get some tea. Oh here we go, lol. Also yes, the whole “the humans have backing singers the gods are doing it themselves” applies here. The “captain, captain!” Is the sailors, the “when does a ripple become a tidal wave” is Poseidon mocking Ody. It’s explicitly an example Jay gave of this feature of the music, the callback to Just A Man is 110% just Poseidon messing with him. And yes, yes that’s what he said to Polyphemus. Poseidon is a petty bitch. That’s why he left the last boat (the 43 men in Ody’s ship with him) alive. Ooh I’m hyped for the premier now :D Btw yea god of horses I’m pretty sure that’s why Gigi’s Polyphemus was all eldritch with hooves and stuff. Entirely creative license but I love it it works. Now get a cough drop :p we love you look after yourself. We can wait for the alternates lol. Say hi to the missus for us, enjoy your dinner!

2024-03-22 02:04:18 +0000 UTCKeep Your Friends Close is also my fave. I also love how the air spirits also tell him "sometimes killing is a must". Almost like they know what Athena told him. Or that they knew Poseidon was looking for him.

2024-03-22 01:29:25 +0000 UTCI always saw posiden dropping the infant as mirroring when Odysseus dropped the child. So he was willing to kill a child, but not the cyclops. "A Greek who reeks of false righteousness"

2024-03-22 01:29:25 +0000 UTCThe silly petty thing with Poseidon is that he asked for an apology. And technically Odysseus didn't apologize he just tried to explain. But Greek Gods hate when mortals don't just grovel.
Kayleigh McRae
2024-03-22 01:27:48 +0000 UTCI’m surprised you didn’t mention the Storm motif when Poseidon is says, “I mean you totally could’ve avoided all this had you just killed my son, but no!” Underneath that is a trumpet playing the Storm motif! Jay said that this implies the Storm was of diving origin.
