Odysseus is a traveler, so it tracks that Hermes would be helpful. 2. Hermes is a trickster god in the Greek pantheon. It 100% tracks that he helps Odysseus because he thinks it would be funny and he just wanted to see what would happen. You're 100% right about the Cheshire cat vibe
