2024-05-11 05:42:14 +0000 UTCi think they cyclops saga affects me the most because i had a friend of mine i knew for over 10 years pass in a motorcycle accident and losing anyone that close will hurt. you can feel it in Odysseus voice and this is so important because the rest of the entire story revolves around this pivotal moment that all takes place in such a short time frame. it shows how anyones life can change drastically from just one moment

2024-05-05 19:35:05 +0000 UTCAlso I think its important to bring up with the it's just one life to take in order to protect the 600 men is Astyanax (the infant) is the son of Hector who was Odysseus's enemy and foil in the trojan war preventing him from returning home just as Polyphemus is the son of Poseidon Odysseus's enemy and foil preventing him from returning home in the Odyssey.

2024-05-05 14:08:57 +0000 UTCSo I didn't catch the thing about Odysseus and Polyphemus's eyes glowing as a reflection of their monsterousness until you brought it up in the video. Taking it a step further, Polites's actual eyes never glow. The light is reflected on his glasses but never in his eyes the entire time. Which implies that Polites is a man and hasn't been a monster since the Sack of Troy. It also explains why he doesn't fight in the cave. Further evidence of Mircy's genius.

Can you imagine…!” in a strained voice in response to Casper’s comment about thinking Polites was accidentally sliced by Odysseus. But ouch that club sequence never gets any easier to watch 😭

Which, as an aside, but in the livestream when underworld was released, Jorge played it all three times. The one-two punch just shook me the first time I watch it, I didn't cry or anything, but then the second time, I was fine until "I took too long" and then it all hit me and oh man I sobbed. Watching it a couple of times can make it hit so much harder, especially when you have more backstory like Your Light which you didn't have the first time.

He was so excited to see what happened to Polites going forward. I was like this is going to hurt so bad. I can’t watch, but I must!🫣. I wanted to give him a hug poor guy.
