There Are Other Ways (ft Casper) - Epic The Musical | Unedited Reaction

Deepest apologies for the significant delay! Today was way busy.

I also wanted to make a note regarding a joke I make in this video; my intention was to jokingly poke fun at a certain group of silly people, but those intentions were not super clear, and I will definitely be removing the joke from the edited version :)

I agree about Jorges Odysseus but you also have to remember the power difference between a goddess and a mortal. Circe and Calypso basically sa him

Lauren Hedman

I bursted out laughing at the Hamilton reference and the "Oh elpenor" and your face after saying it. You had to throw that in, did you?

Lyric

fun fact 2: anni mentioned in her tumber (i dont remeber the whole post so im going off the top of my head) that circe has the lil ear fins and the blue eyes because her mom's an ocean nymph!

Kirru

blackmail material 😈/j (i would never do that to u)

Kirru

Just clarify, you have the danger motif backwards. It's the "sei-dons" in the Poseidon chant.

Ryan Torres

Have to admit, I had guessed that was the danger motif but never allowed myself to confirm it until casper found it

I believe in the epic, I don't remember for sure but I think he spent 7 years in circes island. But I haven't read the epic in so long I could be wrong. So the 12 years to me is that they've blown so off course leading up to circe saga that it's been 2 years, then 7 years on the island and the last year of the 10 years is getting from circes island back to Ithaca.

Harmony Miller

What I love the most about the Cersei saga is that this is the very first time where Odysseus recognizes that the only possible gambit he has to win this fight is absolute honesty - not guile. Part of it may be because he just tried guile on Poseidon and that didn't turn out so well. I think the real reason is that Cersei was a bigger threat. All Poseidon wants is to kill Odysseus. Cersei tempted Odysseus to betray Penelope and it almost worked. The way his eyes widened when he saw the knife she left on her throne tells me he knows how close he was

I haven't finished this video yet, but if you haven't watched Jorge and Talya act out this scene yet - at least the first half - do it! There's a plastic fork in place of a sword, but, she manages to take it from him and have it at his back in a way that you have to watch it multiple times to see where she did it haha. - Pretty sure it was filmed BEFORE they were dating too. It was originally from a couple years ago when the demo was recorded, then reposted in prep for its official release. Also, Jorge's Odysseus is a WAY better husband than ancient Greek Odysseus. He stayed with Circe for a year πŸ˜‚

I would agree if I was just among friends, I know what I meant by it and anyone who knows me would too. BUT, it’s still not worth it being misinterpreted, whether it just hurt feelings OR actually got me in trouble, neither are worth the risk that a very quick cut would fix :)

Mortius

Also, "Not all men" is funny in context, and I doubt anyone would take it wrong, but it's obvs a joke that doesn't need to be defended either. So I think cutting it out is unnecessary, but I get why you'd do it just to extra safe.

Alcaria Swain

"She is turning me into a pig" is such a witty line and deserves more praise

Alcaria Swain

it is!

jayden_arsonew

Isn't also the men calling out Cap-tain?

Alcaria Swain

Hey Mortius I know you and Casper is going to watch the Underworld Saga soon so I thought I send you my list of recommended animatics. The Underworld: TheeArteest animatics is my first pick followed by ShiQing47. Both are really good and I think you would enjoy them. Also I don’t know if anyone told you yet but the part where Odysseus sing about the infant you hear bells and it’s in the same melody when the infant is introduce in The Horse and the Infant. https://youtu.be/qAgQaIABD4A?si=TxTfnnJv6ib9okHs https://youtu.be/DWDkfAccx0k?si=7bFCvHPwYaKyibvr No Longer You: Now for this song there are A LOT of animatics for this one. My two personal favorites are Ximena and Krieo. Now Ximena is overall better but Krieo has better animation for the prophecies and I would love to see your and Casper reaction to those. https://youtu.be/p_3IGTwcRik?si=XGoID0ari0O0NpDm https://youtu.be/D3h6D1KoGKY?si=LYQpGkLqMmD1oMmY Monster: Obviously you have to go with Gigi for this one but Rochi has a really good animatics as well and I highly recommend it. https://youtu.be/qYDms9Z-02A?si=3J0iOlw37v8knXLp https://youtu.be/GMZZs89ailw?si=6QMwgMnQTjhqnGgq

Salena Chavez

He is also the prophet in the original Odyssey, so Casper was very correct! (Although so far I don’t think his blindness has been referenced in the musical)

Samara Grimes

Must be tough being Mason and serving two masters... Yay danger motif! Also, in Done For she says "live" the first time and "love" the second!

draeonic πŸͺΌ

The blind prophet Casper mentioned is a man named Tiresias. His story is great. He was turned in a woman for 7 years and later turned back. Zeus and Hera were arguing about which sex enjoyed copulation more and they brought Tiresias in as a witness, because he had experienced both sides. He said women get more enjoyment and Hera got angry and blinded him. He got the gift of prophecy as a result.

Tone87

Talk about danger motif, did you notice that both Poseidon and his son Polyphemus has choir chanting their name similar way with the danger motif in the beginning of Survive and Ruthlessness. Choir introduction seems to be the family way.

Lily0fTheValley

Please do the reaction to the fan animatics to Underworld Saga, since there was not any ready when you did your first reaction to it. Gigi's animatic for Monster is a must-see/must-react one.

Lily0fTheValley

I'm curious to see what animatics you choose for the next saga

Leo1235_812

Fell into bed at 12am, no There Are Other Ways; crawled back out of bed at 5am, reaction is out - What magic :D

Volran

See, there's a very significant reference in the Odyssey to Penelope weaving, I see you both pointing it out here in reference to 'she's weaving the future'. HOWEVER, it is a VERY memorable theme that's mentioned in some of the first pages of the Odyssey. As far as I know, from listening to snippets of unreleased songs, it is very vaguely mentioned but you should pay attention when it comes in (I think that's in the Ithaca Saga?) I hope that's not a spoiler, I know you've been looking at some behind-the-scenes stuff so it might not come as a surprise to you.

Winter Storm

Listen man, I was close 🀣

Mortius

the danger is nearby motif is actually the sei-don of the poseidon chant :)

jayden_arsonew

Well Circe is the daughter of the sun god and ocean nymph perse.

J

So close! The danger motif is actually the β€œsei-don” of the Poseidon. You can also hear it in the Horse and the Infant, Warrior of the Mind, and Polyphemus

Christine

No the danger motif is the siedon in posiedon

Chase Elmquist

Don't worry about it ! Don't push yourself too much. We love and care for you, Mortius ❀️
