FIXED - HAMILTON BEGINS! - Alexander Hamilton + Aaron Burr, Sir | First Time Showing Casper - Unedited Reaction

So sorry for the double upload/notification, the starting audio should be fixed now!!

Comments

The musical about turning 30 you are looking for is his musical Tik Tik Boom. On netflix I think. It is about the life and works of the writer of the musical, Rent.

Courtney Rae Kelly

You finally got me to watch Hamilton just so I could watch this reaction series. You're changing lives out here, Mortius

Alcaria Swain

Actually it is said in Right Hand Man

Felicity McDonald

Fun fact: Moana's dad is voiced by Chris Jackson, aka Washington in this musical!

Felicity McDonald

Hamilfan!

Ms. Chuck Terry

I don’t know if anyone has said this yet, but the movie that Casper is referring to is “Tick, Tick… Boom!” And it is about the writer of Rent and his journey in writing his first musical. I highly recommend it and wouldn’t be mad if you did a reaction to it.

Samara Grimes

I absolutely plan to show him First Burn because it’s incredible. The other cut songs, I’ll probably leave up to the comments/viewers (or maybe do a Patreon exclusive live stream of some of the cut/alt content?)

Mortius

i remember listening to the alexander hamilton performance (lin's rough draft of the song) back when i was in 8th? grade history class. my teacher was so excited, and the song was stuck in my head. years pass, and i forget about it. my ex then tells me about a new musical, and plays the first song, and i experienced such whiplash because i had known the lyrics without ever having heard the musical! cue me remembering my old history class. hamilton has some good songs, some i still listen to to this day!

Ashes2Ash

Are you also going to show him some of the cut songs like “First Burn”, and “Congratulations”? I would love to see you react to those!

Viyuni

Anyone else hear Mortius say "my thought" in the outdo instead of "My shot"

Lauren Hedman

Also Marquis de Lafayette is never used in Hamilton

Lauren Hedman

Welcome to the crew!!

Mortius

Just wanted to say, that you not only showed Casper Hamilton, but also me. I just returned from watching the whole play and I'm amazed by how good it was! :D

Steven Jansen

OMG, Christopher Jackson as Eurylochus would be, well, epic.

Rite

I’d forgotten. But you’re right.

Ms. Chuck Terry

Fun fact, there's actually a remake of one last time that has Obama reading Washington's farewell address

Jonathan Fleischer

Tik tik boom is the musical by Jonathan Larson. Lin directed the musical movie. It’s so good.

Ryan Ratchford

Wow I’ve been listening to Hamilton since 2016. But thanks Mortius for all these fun facts I’ve never heard! 8 years on!

Ryan Ratchford

🤣🤣🤣 first mythology now this, rip

Phoenix Mackenzie

Fun reference that's there towards the end: Lafayette refers to himself as the "Lancelot" of the revolution and at the end of his verse he asks, "Who's the best?" and answers himself, "C'est moi." That's not only "it's me" in French but a cheeky reference to the song "C'est Moi" song by Lancelot in the musical Camelot about how awesome he is.

Imara121

Lin played the Jonathan Larson character in a revival on stage of tick, tick… Boom. So he had already been cast in the lead once. But for the film, he was the director.

Ms. Chuck Terry

I did three watches on the first day it was on Disney. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ms. Chuck Terry

WHAT 😭 Oh I’m gonna get crucified when this hits YouTube

Mortius

“Marquis de Lafeyette but this is the only time his first name is used” umm, Mortius, I hate to break it to you but that’s. That’s a title 😅

liminalpsych

A small correction/fun fact: Marquis is not Lafayette’s first name but a French noble title (somewhat above a count). Technically La Fayette is not even his last name but the place he is Marquis of ^^’ His historical full name is Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier de La Fayette Quite a mouthful haha

tiredaf

My favourite part about Hamilton was learning new meanings and intentions behind lines even on my 3rd watch

Tristan Acevedo

Tick Tick Boom! is what Casper was thinking of. Lin-Manuel Miranda directed the movie, and Andrew Garfield played the main character Jonathan Larson. The movie is actually a biopic musical, as Jonathan was the person who wrote Rent the Musical! The movie name was based on Larson’s other Musical before Rent called Tick Tick Boom, which is a musical where he recounts how much he struggled making a musical. The songs are absolutely gorgeous, and Rent is what inspired Lin to make musicals!

MildlyPerturbed

Tick, Tick... Boom! is the Ander Garfield musical its about the man who wrote the musical Rent i believe
