We'll Be Fine + Love In Paradise | Wisdom Saga Reaction

WARNING - I had a hard time with this one; some very kind people gave me my own content warning for LiP, but I think that warning had me more on edge and reading more negativity and ickiness than was intended. I am debating how much I want to include in the youtube release, tbh; but for now, y'all will get to see the full reaction, and how/why it hit me. Appreciate you all, and the safe space we have created together to allow me to be this vulnerable.

Tge prophet looked at athena

tristan

I think athenas eyes widening when she witnesses thunder bringer is more her shock that he was able to DO that. When she last saw him, he refused to kill a cyclops. But here, she's seen that he's willing to do ANYTHING to get back- even if it means slaughtering all his friends. The oddysseus she knew had grief over dropping a baby and couldn't handle like 15 men dying. Imagine not seeing your friend for years then coming back to find them a completely different type of person.

AceOfTheDeck

Hey so 110 comments and 2 weeks so I know it's probably already been mentioned, but just in case someone needs to see this, there's a TW for the next saga. Spoiler space! And I spoil in layers so the further down you scroll the more info you get, so you can control how much you know. Edit: apparently the comment doesn’t want to collapse so I made a google docs for it instead, lol. Page 1 = Layer one, very brief spoiler, page 2 = layer two, themes, page 3 = layer 3, quotes and details. Everyone stay safe, you are more than your trauma, love you all! <3 https://docs.google.com/document/d/1S6ZpxOAfrzqRJpNO4B3qDBAQvlsskLQfNY_iOjlXXGM/edit?usp=sharing

Oh no worries, it'll happen at some point. It's more about managing when and making sure it's not going to take spoons/focus when I can't spare them

Bean of Glory

I completely understand the hesitation, and I will say that EPIC has pretty much completely taken over my life since the Circe Saga came out in Feb (I was a fan before then, but Circe dropping got me relistening to Troy, Cyclops and Ocean, and my brain went BRRRRRRRRR and hasn’t really stopped since)—but it is SO WORTH IT to listen to the other sagas. The entire story is told so masterfully, and Jorge’s ability to carry musical themes and motifs through EVERYTHING is nothing short of genius. It’s an investment, for sure. But it’s one worth making, 100%. I highly encourage you to give the whole series a consecutive listen, at least once!

Revan

Thank you for being true to your feelings about LiP. I was very uncomfy about it my first listen through as well. (It's like "All You Wanna Do" from Six. I cry every time at that song.) Unfortunately it is my favorite song from this saga. I can't help it. I think Jorge put crack in the background music and his voice at the end. His scream has me falling out. And the singer for Calypso has me ABSOLUTELY captivated with her voice. And it doesn't help that the animatic is FREAKING GORGEOUS!

Fictional Kay

I feel the need to clarify, as it's come up once or twice in these comments: the bit about Calypso being imprisoned on the island as well and being cursed to fall in love with whoever comes to her island is a Percy Jackson invention, as Rick Riordan's way to make her more "kid-friendly". The Calypso of the Odyssey is a nymph who acts as Odysseus' jailer, offering him immortality to become her eternal lover, but he rejects her and continues pining for Penelope and Ithaca.

Beckerini

Someone needs to clip the "I'm not ok"

🔥Enby_Ember🔥

OMG I JUST REALISED THE PENELOPE MOTIF IN LOVE IN PARADISE

Aidan

The animator, Vimasa, has a super powerful but horrifying animatics for the end part of LiP. But BIG TRIGGER WARNING for SA!!!

Thea Caroline

So? She doesn't need to act on any feelings but chooses to force herself on him in the original(Jorge has left it ambiguous on purpose but even so 7 years with someone coming on to him when all he wants is to go home to his wife and son)

Phoenix Mackenzie

Just because she has those feelings it doesn't mean she has to act on them at all, one thing I do know in the odyssey is that he spends ever night/morning crying on the beach, Ody is an SA victim("he her unwilling lover she all took willing")and even if you didn't intend it to come off that way your comment trivialises that

Phoenix Mackenzie

I don't think I'm alone in saying that if you wanted to do a video where you spend hours analyzing the Time Dive sequence, we'd love to see it!

Robert LeMoyne

Welcome to calypso. that part of the odyssey has always been very ... rapey.

Drew Schneider

There is so much happening in the Calypso and Odysseus dynamic alone. It’s a double edged sword for both of them, more so for Ody however. The lore behind Calypso is that she is cursed to fall in love with whoever washes up on shore at her island which is why it’s straight to “my love, my dear” when speaking. Meanwhile, Ody is dealing with another god/goddess that has always been in his way no matter what he has done. Everything he’s ever done has always been eclipsed by some higher being. So the sense of helplessness against any god is already there and it’s done more so now on this island that Calypso is literally holding him hostage. So there is Calypso who is madly in love with Ody and is actively trying to get away from her and Ody being powerless against another godly figure. But the one thing that really drives it home for me is that in the very start of the calypso and Ody dynamic, she states that he talks in his sleep. That’s why she knows Penelope’s name. And since he’s been there for 7 years, reason to believe he’s still talks in his sleep. With that being said, when Ody is on the edge of that cliff, Calypso is repeating things that OTHER PEOPLE HAVE SAID TO ODY that he most likely has said in his sleep. Being called Ody has only been said by Eurelocus. “Stay inside your heart” is what his mom said to him in the underworld, then finally open arms is Poli. She is using these things to try and coheres him back over. Until he finally breaks down in a PTSD attack while hearing the voices of the people that Calypso quoted and screams at the very end.

Keo

To add to Calypso, she is actually cursed to fall in love with whoever washes up on her island. Also (maybe minor spoilers here, not sure. Also TW: Suicide); she does kill herself in some versions when he eventually leaves.

Wizzywod

I've listened to LiP a lot at this point, and I can hold it together until he starts screaming for home. It kills me every single time.

Colton Vance

To play even more devils advocate in her legend being the daughter of atlas was also cursed to fall in love with any hero that washes on her island till there let go

Hunter

I want to thank you Mortius. I haven’t found a creator who’s reacted to LiP with the same reaction I did - thank you for being so empathetic, it helps our own feelings feel seen. I read the Odyssey a decade ago and Calypso’s island has always been a sore spot for me because of my own past. I have to give Jorge props because I thought I would absolutely hate this song, knowing it was coming up in the songs list. But the fact he bracketed it with Athena, the rewind of the entire saga, and that powerful, intense cry at the end (might be my favourite Jorge vocal) - I think he did a wonderful job. I agree with you, it’s a very hard watch/listen. But thank you for being so kind and empathetic while giving your reaction too!

Paige EJ

Odysseus calling out for Athena breaks me 😭

Tyler Harding

I wanted to point out that with the theory that those notes are Odysseus’ influence on Athena, it makes Telemachus’ lyrics so much more impactful. Him saying he doesn’t know his own father and then picking up HIS FATHERS influence from Athena and through her learning about him. Meaning that through fighting Antinous he did, in a way, find his father. AH! It makes me cry.

Neighborhoodgay tm

We'll Be Fine hit me so hard. It was that riff. Almost every line Athena sings has that riff in it. She isn't just saying with her words how much she regrets loosing that connection to Odysseus, the music is essentially pounding us with it, over and over. Somehow Jorge broke me with the way he used a musical motif, and I can't handle it 😭 Also, I think your read on the ickiness with Calypso is spot on, honestly. I'm not sure if we will ever get any more information on how far the ickiness went, but just based on what we see here, even if she just spent those 7 years cheerfully ignoring his rejection, and therefore denying him autonomy, that's still an awful way for Ody to have to live.

Ashley Evers

hi, new patron, I know im late, always loved your stuff, and I dont comment often but I have this unyielding need to talk and no one I know likes musicals and musicals like me so ive been sitting on epic alone for a long time. I was turned on to a way of thinking about Love In Paradise that I personally love so much, Ody has been subjected by every god its basically come across, he is forever at their will and their whim, having to kill babies beg for help to beat witches watch as they kill every last one of his men and crew. and then he washes up on the shores of a god and is stuck as her prisoner for 7 long unending y ears, stuck watching her fawn over him and stuck watching her try and love him when all he has ever wanted was Penelope, Calypso's island is truly TRULY Odyssesus' personal hell

Ash Hamilton

Just to be an advocate for Calypso, I understand why she is so clingy. It may seem creepy, but she has been stuck on her Island for centuries completely alone. With that in mind, it makes sense why she becomes so desperately attached to Odysseus. She finally has someone with her on her island other than herself! So while her love is unrequited by Odysseus, she was so desperate for companionship that she can't help but force her love upon him. Honestly, it's a sad situation for both of them.

Elijah

After muddling over this for a few days, and knowing that Trauma ebbs and peaks randomly I'm really wondering How Many times over those 7 years he was on the edge yelling for Athena. We know Athena heard him this one time, but how often did he reach that point and she wasn't looking and thus didn't answer?

Mellissa Marcus

I don't tend to just listen to or like musical theater songs - I full-body experience them and then hyperfocus on them, if they're any good XD I've been nervous to give them the chance to take over my mood, soundtracks, and/or life. It's felt easier to continue with the later bit that I started at

Bean of Glory

I've seen a few people theorising that she is somehow stopping him from being *able* to do it through godly powers so he *literally* can't close his eyes😭

Phoenix Mackenzie

Yeah... Just on the epic trauma alone that trauma pile was rude, also slightly wth'd with the amount of comments I've seen that "sounded" too optimistic about seeing his reaction to Lip which just confused me tbh

Phoenix Mackenzie

Any particular reason not to have seen/heard the other songs?

Phoenix Mackenzie

15:40 tweaking Winion

Chase Elmquist

Here's a strange perspective (or maybe not, idk how many Epic listeners are like me) - I haven't heard almost all of the songs in Epic apart from Open Arms, Ruthlessness, Done For, the Thunder Saga and now the Wisdom Saga. This is literally my first time hearing Athena here. I know the Odyssey from the Armand Assante-starring movie, and I know roughly what happens in most songs I haven't heard, but I don't have the emotional connection from them. That being said, I have listened to We'll Be Fine at least eight times now, and when Athena sings, I usually start crying. Partly for the lyrics, partly for Teagan's voice and delivery. She sounds so achingly sad and so scared to hope again. And here she is next to this buoyant marshmallow (whose bar for splendid is "I got in a fight and didn't die!") who makes you want to hope against your will. :) My soul just about left my body when they harmonized. Over hope. It was so brief, but damn it was lovely. Also, just noticed watching your reaction - toward the end of the animatic, the artist has Telemachus wreathed in the light on the water of the setting sun :) As he's lighting up talking about how much hope Athena has given him. Aaaaaaaa.

Bean of Glory

Sending hearts ❤️ After seeing you react to All You Wanna Do, I was *worried* about you with Love in Paradise. I knew that Jorge hadn't gone for the darker (darkest?) angle, but I also knew your mind would probably drag you there anyway bc our traumas can be overwhelming jerks. The power dynamic + any other situational similarities + deep emotions that Epic taps seemed like more than enough for that to happen. I'm so sorry it was so rough.

Bean of Glory

I just wanted to say thank you. Your genuine reaction help me remember that I'm not crazy.

Lupikus

This had become one of my favorite songs now.😄 It sings of hope, like Telemachus is giving Athena hope again. And maybe that's what gets Athena to wonder what happened to Ody.

Jane Jones

Mortius, I just read your description for this video and I'd like to say those icky vibes were 100% valid, i love wangui but Calypso is so creepy to me, she's been rejected for 7 years straight and still calls Ody "my love" pretending there's nothing wrong in their "paradise", and while she's lonely, thats not an excuse (neither is being in love, you can choose not to act on those feelings for those saying she's cursed). So thanks for your genuine reaction, it means a lot to me that you are seeing this situation for what it is, as it drove Ody to almost doing what he almost did near the end of the song, there's no justification for that imo. Thank you always for your amazing content! :)

Alphabetical

LiP had me thinking a LOT about Calypso and just her whole... vibe. Doing a little bit of digging, there are some sources that say she was not only forced to stay on that one island but ALSO to fall in-love with every mortal hero that washes on her shores and frankly... That makes this worse, a lot worse... Course, this is probably very few sources and not entirely accurate but even still, it doesn't help me, and now I'm gonna just go chill in a corner for a while and rethink my decisions on using the internet. *breathes* AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-

That Graham

The amount of jokes coming from the "goddesses can't die" to youtube killing the thing is hilarious.

Oriondraco

the "let me close my eyes" while standing on a ledge hurts so bad when you think about how he told the infant in just a man to close his eyes... jorge when i get you. when i get you jorge

Robin

He is but in a logic way he knows there are bad people where polties tries to see good in evil. We all know isn't a great thing to do.

Jp3711nc

Especially where the piano keys from other snippets like with posiden.

Jp3711nc

That piano at the end of Thunder Saga was 100% Athena

Ash Rose

I loved being part of the livestream when it got cut, sooooo many of us were hollering "CAPTAIN!!!" into the chat! LiP is SUPER painful but such a hecken good song.

fluffqueen91

Do you think Jorge told Mircsy to use their original cyclops horns style for the Laestrygonians?

Boaz Russell

You didn't quite get calypso from one image. You got it in mutiny already. You did such an intricate triangle thing with your hands. "Percy jackson knowledge, statue of the sun, island... calyyyypsoooo?" I will never forget how much it made me laugh since I knew this song was coming.

Emma

And he doesn't even have crewmembers. At least when he had them he felt brave, eager to protect them and finish their journey. I need to hug Ody after Thunder Saga, this poor friggin' man.

Kory Misun

My headcanon is that Calypso uses her powers to somehow pull Odysseus back from the cliff, so while he's fighting the singing voices, he's also trying to fight her. Only Athena, the last person out there he knows, could help him when he's feeling so overwhelmingly bad.

Kory Misun

Thank youfor holding a candle for the trauma so to speak.

tristan

Me reading the Odyssey in school makes LiP so much worse, knowing what's happend to Ody in those seven years... that would break anyone.

Blakely W

So part of her punishment is that that fates purposefully send men to the island that Calypso will immediately fall in love with, but they will never love her back. It’s just to emphasize how truly alone and trapped she is. And of course it’s awful for everyone involved cuz the Gods and Fates don’t care about how punishing each other hurts mortals in the crossfire.

William Watson

Oh! i didnt think about it that way!

Jesse Dueitt

The song We'll be fine, doesn't Telemachus sound alot like Polites? But he's different. Polites was positive , sweet but too innocent for the life he was living in. Telemachus, however is positive and sweet to but he is still realistic. In legendary he acknowledges the danger that is at his front (almost literally). And when he sees Athena as his friend, he doesn't assume that he will become her friend. Almost like if he never becomes a friend to her in her eyes he will ok with that because he will always see Athen as his friend 🧡.

Jane Jones

I completely agree! Jorge is getting everyone’s therapy bills by the time the whole musical is released! 😭

Alexis Locknane

I couldn't work out why I didn't like LiP but watching your reaction made me realise what it was. Thank you for sharing Mortius, and thank you for everything! That song is amazing and heartbreaking, and triggering all in one go.

DnD Addict

I think you’re absolutely right, and I think the placement of those phrases right before Ody hears Polites’ voice was probably purposeful too. I’m pretty sure hearing those words literally triggered those memories for him, brought him into a PTSD flashback, and that thought absolutely breaks my heart every time. I cry every time I hear that part 🥺😭💔

tsukihimeyfan

Calypso is a kind of tragic villain - it doesn't excuse any of her actions AT ALL, it's just fascinating to me that her affection is seemingly genuine but her methods are so entirely deranged and without respect for Ody's free will that she becomes one of the biggest antagonists on his journey. Morally she's being selfish, domineering and abusive but she doesn't seem to realize it? She's trapped on the island too and is just like "OMG I'm not alone anymore! Yay!" And cannot seem to understand why she can't win this guy over with all her power and beauty, and just thinks he'll eventually come around. But 7 years and he still spends every day crying on the beach longing for home. Like, girl wake up he doesn't want you!

Kristina (LadyGreensleeves33)

Light went dark for me was our sunshine boy. We going IHOP. (In Honor Of Polites)

Dunning Kruger Fxs

I also immediately thought of Polites when Polites died. He was his light and then that light went dark

Sleepy.novatea

This broke us all honestly

Sleepy.novatea

Idk if anyone else has commented this, but Calypso uses words that the 3 specific people he hears have said to him. Ody- Eurylochus; I’ll stay inside your heart- his mom; open arms- Polites

Alexis Locknane

i think you are right. it sounds like the melody playing in the background when the sheep gets hit with the arrow in polyphemus

Zantorino

I was fine until the last line. Athena realizing she has to help him broke me.

alaan vanderveer

Idk if I’m wrong or not, but does that last part of Love Is Paradise (right before calypso says “Odysseus?”) doesn’t it sound like the start of Polyphemus? I might be crazy, but it sounds like the same melody to me

Violeta

You can literally hear the fear in poor odys voice 😭

Phoenix Mackenzie

That entire last part of Love in Paradise might be—no, IS my favorite part of the entire musical. It was so beautiful and I got chills all over. I can’t stop replaying the song for that part. I was SPEECHLESS when I was watching the livestream. Jorge’s INSANE vocals mixed with polites, eurylochus, AND his mom??? I died.

Violeta

There's a dual interpretation aspect to "then his light went dark". When I heard it in the live stream, I thought she meant that when they broke their connection he went dark for her, then when I relistened to it, it could mean that after getting to calypsos island he wasn't seen again by her. or he went to the dark side and became monster. that's just what I think though.

Jesse Dueitt

I love how Telemachus is like a combination of Polites and Odysseus even though he's never met either of them.

Seiryunohoushi

Love in Paradise can be quite triggering I agree and I think it might be my favorite of the saga and comfortably in S tier, the flashback sequence combined with Ody and Calypsos' vocals are absolutely amazing, and the same to Athena and Telemachus in We'll be Fine. Absolutely masterful vocals

Jimmy Toad

You’re not reading too much into it, imho. Just the right awful amount. (And it’s worse, I feel, that she seems to think this is genuine love. Possession and control and coercion and she seems to think that’s love, loving, good somehow—which is distressingly like a Calypso-figure from my own history. Your openness about your history is powerful and makes it feel less isolating as an experience.) Non-spoiler excerpts from the Odyssey: “He was forced to sleep with her in the hollow cave at night, as she wished though he did not, but by day he sat among rocks or sand, tormenting himself with tears, groans and anguish, gazing with wet eyes at the restless sea.” And “It is his daughter who detains that unlucky, sorrowful man: she lulls him, always, with soft seductive words, intending him to forget Ithaca. But Odysseus, who yearns for the mere sight of the smoke rising from his own country, only longs to die.” And “He suffers misery in the island home of the nymph Calypso, who keeps him captive there.” And “‘Stay and make your home with me, and be immortal, no matter how much you long to see that wife you yearn for day after day. I am surely no less than her, I contend, in height or form, since no woman can reasonably compete with the gods in form or face.’ Then resourceful Odysseus replied to her: ‘Great goddess, do not be angry at what I say. I know myself that wise Penelope is less than you, it’s true, in looks and stature, being a mortal, while you are immortal and ever young. Even so I yearn day after day, longing to reach home, and see the hour of my return.“

liminalpsych

UGHHH THE END OF LOVE IN PARADISE DESTROYED ME

Moon Harris

Something I haven't seen anyone else mention: when Athena says "He needs my help" it's almost identical to the way that Odysseus says "I have to see her" at the end of Thunder Bringer.

BoobeamTrap

Notice how along with the open arms line calypso calls odyssues ody like eurulychus and tells him she will be in his heart mirroring his mom's words in underworld

Bret Brittian

I will be sweeping up the pieces of my heart for days after this. At least I know I won't be alone. Jorge's long, sorrowful high notes make me struggle to take in air. Everyone else with shortness of breath, you're okay. Just take a pause for yourself, in for five, out for seven.

Kory Misun

oh absolutely

draeonic 🪼

For the "this is icky" part, the original story of the Odyssey also treats it as the ick that it is. In the original story, the poet recounting the tale mentions that he spends every single day of those 7 years crying on the shoreline. It talks regularly about her taking advantage of him sexually, and it's not treated as consensual. It's taken quite seriously and it's treated as the biggest obstacle in his path home. EDIT: Wanted to clarify on "it's not treated as consensual." The story of the Odyssey is seen as many as the first story to feature a male SA victim.

Travis Welty

I appreciate your "this is icky" reaction because that was mine too and I feel like so many people just *don't* pick up on that or feel bad for Calypso etc where I was just very concerned the whole time. (Spoilerish) . . . a later song mentions this a bit w calypso

Alphabetical

i dont think you read to much into it. honestly calypso is worse in the actual epic. but yeah him yelling for athena always gets me. its so well done

ShadowFox1412

"Last I checked goddesses can't die" *stream dies*

Alphabetical

Love in paradise is also quite triggering for me too since I have depression so I highly relate to last part of it. For those who feel the same - you're not alone. Depression loves to make us think we are, but I swear you are not. There's always gonna be someone who cares ❤

Emily

Well you got to experience the agony of the live stream going down . Gosh I didn't know what to do straight to discord. I must admit I was in a bad relationship and pushed to do things, I did try and end it twice, now I look at the wonderful life I know have with a fantastic husband and 3 wonderful kids.

Liz Lilliman

Poor odys fear that he portrays after hearing she’s a goddess is sad this man has been put through so much by the gods and to be up against another one here you can just see it breaking him

Iliana Mage

thank you for your honesty in sharing your reactions. what you said about "you're so much more than your past" is something i needed to hear and i truly appreciate your genuine respectfulness dealing with hard topics <3 <3

xairin

Most dramatic moment of Epic the Musical[so far] unlocked! Holy heck that was rough!

Crobis Bobis

And this is exactly why Love in Paradise became my new favorite song. Because of just how much sheer EMOTION was packed into that song. From Athena seeing for herself all the shit that Ody went through after she left him, and getting super worried for him, to him realizing he's stuck, realizing he can't do anything against this goddess that keeps him prisoner in the name of her one-sided love, and the sheer amount of heartache, desperation, and by the end of the song, the heart wrenching DESPAIR in his voice as he screams out in the midst of his downwards spiral... And then, that moment of brief hope that led to him giving that one last, desperate call for HELP from the one person that he's not even sure would even answer his call after everything they went through, but is also the ONLY person that he has left that would possibly care about him enough to try and help him. One last attempt at asking for help, from the only person in the world that he can trust. His one last hope for help and freedom. It hits me every time I hear it, and yet I love it all the same.

Marianamystery

I was there during the live stream and when it went down. The absolute agony I felt when that happened.

Alexus Howard

All I'm saying is Polites was right Bring the world some light & greet the world with open arms 😌 Telemachus takes after his Uncle Polites is all I'm saying he's the new light of Epic And don't ever apologize for being open & honest about your experiences & how epic has touched you. That's why we love watching your POV in reactions. Thank you for gifting us with your voice & lending it to so many others that's the healing leading its way into the light after a dark road. You got this & we support you 💕

Zakksu

Multiple songs have gotten close to breaking me in this musical. So far Love in Paradise is the one that did it. Especially with the animatic attached.

Jacob Minger

Thank you for your analysis. I’m profoundly grateful for your sensitivity towards those of us who have been in abusive power situations. You’re correct: we CAN grow past them and become stronger because of the struggle.

Dorothy Rosenberg

I'm not gonna get too deep into it here, but uhh... Odysseus on the ledge kinda hit a bit too close to me. All the hugs to everyone it hit, too. 🫂

Ace Trainer Aster

And Odyssey Calypso even more!

MildlyPerturbed

About the live stream shutting down at one point I thought first of all how funny it was that in the chat so many people were typing "CAPTAIN" but I think the moment that I died was when someone said "now who opened the wind bag"💀😂😂😂

Naya

Mortius you made me cry with the "you're so much more than your past" speach holy shiii- T^T

Nico B

Can we talk about how good Teagan is at harmonizing with both MICO and Jorge🫠

Jacob Minger

Mortius’s raw reaction is totally valid though haha.

Jacob Minger

Goodness, Love in paradise is such a...tough song. Sung so well but still gives icky vibes.

Kenzie Wing

Oof. I'm sorry this one was so rough. One of the things that I've really been enjoying about watching your reactions to this story is that, as someone who knows Homer inside and out but has never read any Percy Jackson, I can NEVER anticipate which mythic bits and bobs you might know and which you won't. That you knew enough to guess that we'd be getting Calypso here, for example, and yet *didn't* know about the whole "held on her island against his will for 7 long years" part of the story, was just so utterly unexpected (albeit very traumatic for you, for which I am awfully sorry)!

SK Elkins

Love Barbra Wangui as Calypso, however I really don’t like Calypso for what she does to Odysseus in The Odyssey. Jorge kept in light in EPIC, but it’s way worse and more explicit in the original poem, especially due to the power imbalance between them. He basically cries on the beach every night longing to go home.

MildlyPerturbed

It's not made clear how old he is. We just know in the Odyssey, by the end, he's between 20-21 years old. As far as epic goes, with the infant in the beginning he says "you're as old as he was." An infant is anywhere from under 2 years old. At least until they learn to walk then they are a toddler. So with Odysseus calling him an infant I'd wager the baby is no older than 1 year old. So with that, Telemachchus was probably a few months old to a year when he left.

Ryan Torres

Are we sure it was on the day he was born? I believe in some sources, Telemachus almost a year old. Which is why he was like 20-21 at the end of The Odyssey.

MildlyPerturbed

Athena: kid, you're a lot like that one Mystery Friend of mine Me: I don't? See the resemblance? Mortius: wow Telemachus, you might be as dense as your father Me: THERE IT IS

draeonic 🪼

Athena is the EPIC version of vague posting

Grimascent

There's a before production snippet of Calypso's introduction in Love in Paradise on YouTube/TikTok and you should definitely check it out!! Barbara Wangui's live voice is so soft and fairy-like, it's amazing!

ѕℓєєρу

besides the background of calspo love in paradise is so pretty and it has one of my favorite instrument sounds.

MJ

Him screaming for Athena WRECKS me. It really really speaks to how damaging that kind of environment that this THIS is what makes him cry for help. So fucking sad.

Broody Gaming

Love in paradise killed me too. It’s on my list of favs

Mons

Ody has been stuck for 7 years, in the beginning of legendary it says 7 years later :)

Lauren Hedman

⚠️Trigger warning ⚠️: Also the whole cliff thing kind of hits hard. About a year or two ago, I was on the edge of ending everything due to my anxiety and depression and I called out to my mom. She talked me down of my idea and helped me from doing it. It hits hard after but I'm glad I had support. Then I started watching you and Casper and now anytime my mom's at work, I watch your videos and it just makes me realize I'm not alone. Thank you for the videos and stuff that makes me laugh

Oceanna Denham

We hate epic Calypso in this house

tsukishimas left sock

You remember one of the cut songs: "your light"😉

Marius

To clarify, Odysseus has been MIA for 7 years. From Troy saga to underworld, it's been at longest, a year. The intermissions to end of Thunder, it's been about two years since Monster. We have a timeline and it seems like Jorge corrected the first 12 years mishap. Also, in the Odyssey, Odysseus left for war immediately after Telemachus was born. On the same day. So he did meet his son as an infant and then went to fight.
