Voiceplay - Hunt The Sky

Comments

I'm probably far from the only one to say this but I feel like it's more than acceptable to adapt their music. You're only doing the exact thing they have done with every single song they've released up until this one. And as for it not being your "Best voiceplay reaction", so what? If you forced yourself to react a certain way, it would no longer be a genuine reaction. Maybe skip recording overall if you really, really don't want to be doing it that day, but otherwise, the genuine reaction is the point. :)

How did you not notice the fact that Geoff has a temporary tattoo on his arm-Y

Ask VP Mortius lol sure they would be fine about it 😊 and sort of agree, sorry, it wasn’t your best VP reaction but I get it, busy busy, it’s hard to truly focus, you are always so honest so here I am being just that 🤣😊 It feels like you were a little distracted ? But hey it happens 🤣😊

I think it’s fab and as Layne said, they need at least 10 to gage if originals are something viewers want, I want all of the 10 lol ☺️

Since I’m an a cappella freak, I adore VoicePlay’s complex, interwoven sounds. This IS more than a simple war chant/sea-shanty. That’s why I love it. If you’ve got a bee in your bonnet to simplify this into a war chant, go for it.

As just a viewer with no and I mean no music theory or Viking background knowledge I just love ❤️ it in the round 😊 I sing it to myself constantly and on streaming it sounds amazing. It’s their first ish original and I think they did a fab job and will only grow from here, just my opinion Mortius 😊 everyone has to start somewhere and it seems to have been received really well so far. I guess when folk can’t help but compare, it must be difficult, I can’t so for me it’s just what it is lol 😂 a song, an original and amazing 😊 Just a tad disappointed that you didn’t do the usual highlighting of the notes especially from Geoff and Eli, I look forward to when you break things down more but that could just be me 😊

The group had done some original songs on the 4:2:Five album "Unstoppable," their two "Lab" videos, and for their One Minute Musicals. It was filmed individually in front of a green screen at PattyCake Productions studio, with technology which allowed them to view the performer and Eli's Unreal Engine backgrounds as the video was being recorded. The costuming and makeup harken back to their other Viking videos. For example, the lettering on Cesar's face says "VoicePlay" as it did in Valhalla calling, but their are also changes, such as it awesome Viking sword tattoo on Geoff's left arm. Geoff actually threw the axe several times and Layne was the target. That's a shattering B0 subharmonic from Geoff and an epic F#5 from Eli.

I think that any kind of cover of their song can only benefit Voiceplay, so definitely go for it if you want 😁 I do agree that it isn't quite as much of a war chant as I know was their goal. The song is still excellent, especially for an original, but I had a similar thought early on. I occasionally hear people say that Voiceplay are really good at the sea shanty/work song/war chant type genre, and I think I actually disagree (hear me out 🤣) Those genres are defined by being simple and repetitive, and Voiceplay are incapable of being either of those things 🤣 Usually when they do a full cover of a shanty, the add so much complexity and variation it basically stops being a shanty 🤣 This is not a complaint, but I do wonder if sometimes it hurts their views a little. Their minis that are shanties tend to do better.
