2024-03-14 21:24:13 +0000 UTCThe voice actor for Tenzin (named after Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama...notice the names...), is J.K. Simmons, who played J. Jonah Jameson in most of the Spider Man live action movies. Republic City is like the US in the 1920s or 1930s. Love that y'all are watching this, and I'm finally getting into watching these reactions :)

2024-03-12 20:44:57 +0000 UTCSo here’s some answers to questions you had that aren’t given in the show: According to the wiki Korra is 17 in Book 1. Also Katara is 85, Tenzin is 51, Pema is 35, Jinora is 10, Ikki is 7, Meelo is 5, and Lin is 50. Iirc Oogi looks a bit different from Appa (brown ears instead of white, more stripes along the back and tail) because he’s a different breed of flying bison, descended from a wild herd Aang found at some point after the war. If you remember way back in The Library episode the professor asks Appa if he’s the last of his breed, so to me that implies there are different breeds. Also, while we know where Kya and Bumi’s names come from, Tenzin has a significant name as well. He’s named after the current Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso.
