We could have at least tried to save that cool gun. But that scene truly demonstrates her sacrifice.

It's a shame she didnt take some extra coin with her down there, but then again, maybe thats worth almost nothing in the undercity depending on what you can even buy with it Anyway i thought it was so telling that cait was willing to make that trade and put so much trust in Vi

2024-05-07 23:57:07 +0000 UTCThat scene starting from when Jinx lights up the flare to Vi showing up is one of my favorites. Chills every time. The βcameraβ panning around Jinx to show Mylo and Claggor in distress behind her. Caitlyn and Vi escaping from Silco, sliding into a tunnel and then it cuts to an enforcer loading their gun. Vi turning around to flip someone off and thatβs when she sees the blue smoke. Also during that final fight we get basically a reversal of the closing shot from the intro, where instead of confronting each other with fists and a gun, theyβre back-to-back ready to defend each other.

2024-05-07 14:13:49 +0000 UTCAnother intense episode, three more to come...ππ And another great reaction. π€© DIsclaimer, this is going to be a bit longer, because there is so much to talk about...π π My reaction to your reaction: - Did you notice that the firelights are actually a peaceful and kind faction, despite their martial entries? They want to destroy the drug that destroys the undercity, they never use deadly force or firearms and in every fight we've seen so far, they actively try not to kill someone, but rather to escape the situation (see the pink haired girl from the ship, who tried to run away from Jinx and got shot in the backπ), once they reached their goal. That makes all of Jinx' killings of Firelights all the more tagic...ππ There are several hints that the Firelights leader and Jinx know each other. At the ship Jinx attacks every Firelight but their leader and only shoots at them when they come on to her after killing their friend. Here they knock almost everyone out, but again, no attempt to kill one of the three girls, despite being shot at. It seems to be their golden rule: No solving problems by killing anyone. π€ - Yes, the little girl in the flashback, who is looking at young Viktor is Sky, his and Jayce's lab-assistant. It speaks volumes of the quality of storytelling in this show, that even though she has only very little screentime, we learn a lot about her. She has apparently a crush on Viktor since their childhood days in the undercity, but never had the courage to tell him. But she managed to follow him on his long, hard and winding path to the Academy of Piltover - a poor girl from the slums of the undercity. For me she's the unsung hero of this show. Who knows how much it had cost her to ask him to walk home together with her in the last epsiode, only to be turned down by him. He only seems to live for his work. And now that his time is drastically shortened, even more so. Is their any non-tragic love story in this show?? π¨π - Until this morning Jayce was Mel's useful toy. Now he shows his vulnerability to her and to her surprise, she is touched by it. She seems to develop feelings for him as well and opens up to him a bit. Jayce was always attracted to her, right from their first real meeting that night at the academy. π - Details: I love that Jinx persistently calls Thieram the barkeeper Chuck. He is extremely nervous around her. Honestly I would be, too. π€£ Jinx get's her drink in the same cup she used as a child, from the same kind of bottle we saw Vander pouring her a drink. She get's it with a straw, just like from Vander. She even sits in the same spot. Oh these little moments where Powder shines through. π¨π (See the end of episode 2) - Sevika is cold. How she pulled out all the stops to make Jinx loose her shit, oh man. She put the thought of Vi replacing her with Caitlyn in Jinx' head. Sevika wants war and a riled up Jinx is a good way to escalate things. And it distracts Jinx from attacking Sevikas healthy arm. As I said before, Sevika is fast in adapting to a new situation...π€π - Vi lead them to her early childhood home, the last place with happy memories for the sisters. I am pretty much convinced that she led Caitlyn there to die at home. She couldn't know that Caitlyn would find a way to help her, even down there. Huck (the guy with the glasses) had probably informed Silco about Vi's whereabouts before he and Caitlyn talked, that is why he apologized and didn't want to go to see Vi. It is not only that he is ashamed of what he became. I guess he really felt guilty, he lead Caitlyn to a doctor (?) after all, but the addiction to Shimmer is stronger than anything else....π - Did you hear Vanders words echo in Vi's mind, when Caitlyn tells her that she has a good heart? I miss him... π ...but I am so glad that Caitlyn sees the same in Vi as Vander did. When Vi regaines conciousness, she sees her mother and little Powder looking at her, and her mother calling her name, but with Caitlyns voice. Oh, and Caitlyn. My romantic heart jumped and cheered at their lingering look after Caitlyn calmed Vi down. And did you see how nervous Caitlyn got afterwards and quickly changed the subject? She noticed it too. π Caitlyn traded her gun! Her custom-made gun she had since she was old enough to hold a gun (as you could see in the painting in episode 2). It was pretty much an extension of herself and she traded it for medicine for Vi without any hesitation... π€©ππ - Vi finally worked together with Caitlyn, she saw her trying to bring the water tower down and picked up on it instead of fighting against Silcos shimmer monsters. I got goosebumps when Jinx used the flare she got all those years ago from Vi. Now we know why she has blue smoke clouds tatooed all over her - It was Powders cry for her sister all the time! The music! The tormented ghosts of Mylo and Clagger on Jinx' back! π± "Are you real?" were the most heartbreaking words I've heard since episode three. ππ - Throwing Heimerdinger out of the council seems a bit much, but what choice did Jayce have? I guess Heimerdinger has seen terrible things that happend because of the (mis)use of magic and that fear lead him to do nothing and suppressing the research of magic, much like Vanders fear for the safety of his adopted children prevented him from fighting against the topside and turned the people to Silco. I am with Jayce on that matter, Heimerdingers inactions widened the rift between Piltover and Zaun. And he threatened to destroy the hexcore. That is nothing but a death sentence for Viktor. Should Jayce stand aside and watch his best friend die, while they have the technology to highly likely prevent that? Heimerdinger also never answers one of the questions Jayce and Viktor ask him. He always deflects and changes the subject. I think even Mel was surprised by Jayce's indeed bold move, but went along with it. She always pushed Jayce towards the leadership of the council, so she can reign through him, but she didn't seem to expect such a rash move. In the end it served her interests and she started to really like Jayce, will say her emotions begin to influence her political decisions. π€ - Vi and Powder didn't get the chance to really reunite - when Caitlyn entered the scene Sevikas words took full effect and turned Jinx immediatly against her. Of course it didn't help that Caitlyn indeed is an enforcer, the ultimate enemy from Jinx' point of view. The attack of the firelights then ended all attempts to talk. That scene was trippy because Caitlyn also has blue hair lol We also caught the "wrong arm" reference this time around! Jinx's dialogue never fails to entertain, especially during the hilarious bar scene with "Chuck." You also picked that Sky was the name of the girl in the flashback. Very observative! You got one thing wrong though. The woman with the dark blue hair leaning over Vi in her halluzination was her mother . We have seen her at the very start of ep 1. And she looks very similar to Caitlyn ngl. Did you get the "wrong arm" reference between Jinx and Sevika?π Powders explosion in ep 3 ripped off her arm. And now she was going for the other... And our boy Jayce gets played again. This time it is Marcus inserting him the idea to close the bridges for the savety of Piltover while all he really wants is to get a grip of CaitVi (aka Violyn). He stands his ground against Heimerdinger though. While it is a betrayal in a way, Jayce has some points here. The rift between Piltover and the Undercity has grown over a long time and Heimi should have noticed this earlier. Still Heimi has surely good intentions. Every character has its flaws in this show. No black and white here... The flare scene his truly one of the most intense in the show (although there are many). Totally got your scream there!π What hit me the most was the "are you real?"..π You can see how messed up Powder (yeah she is not Jinx in that moment for me) really is there. She is aware that she is seeing ghosts and still reacts and talks to them. She switches between Jinx and Powder several times on the platform ..π₯ Fantastic episode and reaction.𧑠After this my day can only be a banger now! Thx!
