2024-05-11 09:25:24 +0000 UTCI read a fan theory that suggested the reason Caitlyn survived the bombing was because Jinx somehow programmed them to target weapons, and Caitlyn traded her gun for Viβs medicine. Also, when Jinx shot at them, you can see Vi pushing Caitlyn out of the way while Caitlyn is reaching out for her.

2024-05-09 07:42:55 +0000 UTCAnother thought: If you would like to see more of Ella Purnell (the voice of Jinx), I strongly recommend you to watch "Fallout". I don't know if this is up your alley, but she is absolutely great in it and the show is extremely well done. It totally deserves the hype it gets these days. For me "Fallout" is right up there with "The Last Of Us" and "Arcane", another brilliant video game adaptation. π Btw: If you look at any picture of Ella Purnell, you'll see she could easily play Jinx in a live action version (not that I want one π π).

2024-05-09 07:17:29 +0000 UTCIt was a little mean to drop this right before I had to go to sleep. ππ And such a great reaction at that! π I was honestly overwelmed by this episode. This show makes me "block with my face" everytime...π€£π So for now let's start with one of the very few lighthearted moments, my favorite quote of this episode: "My hero!" π As for favorites: This episode is among my top three. The third one for me was the one where I decided I watch a unique masterpiece and fell in love in the show. See, the first two episodes are for build-up and they're great and entertaining, but everyone thinks by the end of the second they have figured out how the story will go from here. But then comes the third episode and smashes all expectations and predictions to dust and the rollercoaster goes full speed, gettin' faster, more intense, more thrilling, more emotional right into the finale. π€© Here we go, as usual spoiler-free and quiet long: - As if this show isn't briliant enough, no, let's throw in two completely different styles of animation and create another masterpiece. Together with the lyrics you learn everything there is to know about the firelights in a minute! π - The banter and bickering between the captured Vi and Caitlyn, I loved it so much. They almost sounded like an old couple. Well, I loved it till the moment Vi was taken and Caitlyn fell in full-on panic mode. - Of course it was Ekko! Who else could it have been? And my does he look awesome. The hour glass symbol on his face! His theme seems to be time. π - Judging by the look on the man-bats face when he took Vis burlap of, he still feels every single one of Vi's punches from their fight before. And we learn that man-bat, who is obviously Ekkos right hand man, has a newborn child. I never thought a creature with such spiky teeth could be this cute. π - Victor is entering very dark territory, I'm worried about him. He's frustrated and desperate, because Jayce is caught up in his own problems and time is running out for him. So he decides to make himself the guinea pig for his experiments. I think he hopes to cure his leg by melting it somehow with the hex core. From his point of view: What has he to loose at this point? - Jayce feels so much pressure from all sides. Victor wants him to help him, the Council waits for his decisions (being the new leader after kicking Heimerdinger out), the blockade he ordered lets the tension rise close to the boiling point and Mel tries to push him to build weapons. He is in way over his head and begins to realize it. - By the way, I think you're a bit hard on Mel. Yes, she follows her own agenda, but since the last episode it is more for her then just controlling Jayce. He is beginning to influence her as well, albeit unwittingly. And her worry for Piltover is real. She looks at the bigger picture, across the borders of the city, and sees that the city looks weak (nice callback to the discussion between Vander and Sevika in ep 2) and could be target of an attack. She tries to prevent that by pushing Jayce to build weapons, because she probably knows what powerful enemies are out there. She wants the city to have something as a deterrent. π€ And we already know she is right about the Undercity. Jinx is close to building a hextech weapon, all she needs is to get the gemstone back. That is a really frightening thought...π¨ - Interesting choice of words from Jayce: "They are dangerous!". It reminds me of young Marcus ("You people are all the same!"), Caitlyn ("In what mad world would I trust someone like you?") or Vi ("You enforcers are all the same!"). Marcus never overcame his prejudices, while Vi and Caitlyn are learning to do it and Jayce has Victor to set his head straight. - Now you know why Jinx was working on the mechanical butterflies since ep 4. π¨π You can still see them in her lab when she staples her leg. They probably fly into the light like real firelights and explode. - The mural is my new favourite shot of all episodes so far.ππ - Did you recognize the pink haired girl from the ship? The one Jinx confuses with Vi for a moment? The girl spraying pink haired girl's portrait is the one with the bird mask from the fight in ep. 6, the one who kicked Caitlyns lights out and took her and the gemstone. - It speaks volumes that Powder is the only person up there of whom Ekko knows she is still alive. He has been around and saw Powder transform to Jinx. I imagine he even tried to get her on his side more than once, but she preferred to stay with Silco. Ekko tries to seperate Jinx and Powder, but you can't do that, they are two sides of the same medal. He gets a hint that Powder still is somewhere in there, when she accepts his challenge with their old childhood game. That's why he couldn't kill her in the end, he saw Powder giving up, not Jinx. It seems, despite his words to Vi he still had a tiny spark of hope that Powder isn't gone for good. π - About the chem barons: Silco isn't as affected by the polluted air because he lived most of his life in it, in contrast to the much younger Finn. Details: The beautiful plant in the background, blooming in radiant colors when Silco and Sevika entered the meeting, was dead when they left. A strong hint how heavily polluted the air was he set free. - Caitlyn does a very Vi thing and offeres herself up for someone who became very important to her in a short time. She didn't deserve to be mocked by Vi ("My Hero!"), but then again you can see Vi means it in a "I like you for it" way. Caitlyns speech hit Ekkos heart (and mine) and especially Vis (look at her eyes widen), probably everyones. This cements her being my number one character in this show.π (Though Vi and Ekko come in close.) If Vi was attracted to her before, now she is hooked. I think it is still to soon to talk about love, but now there is not only attraction, but also deep respect and outright admiration. - The picture Jayce is looking at is a drawing from his childhood days, it shows him as some kind of superhero with a huge hammer. We're going to see him with his hammer from the opening credits!πππ¨ - Vis and Caitlyns goodbye at the bridge was so heartbreaking. I love that you also recognized all the little gestures, touches and looks between Cait and Vi...π And Vi herself confirmed what was hinted since they first met: "It was real, cupcake!" Even when she hugged Ekko she only had eyes for Caitlyn. She looked so sad and dejected, head and shoulders hanging, when she slowly walkes away from her. No trace of her usual energy. She gives up something possibly good to do the right thing. All the while Jinx high up on the bridge fights with her jealousy and Mylos shadow grows and grows. π - When Vi hears a shot she instantly runs back, screaming: "Caitlyn!"π And Mylos shadow grows even more, until it threatens to swallow Jinx.π± - Marcus did what he always does, trying to get out of his situation by making one bad decision after another. Then he realized that it was easier to kill some guy from the much hated Undercity (Ekko), than it was to kill a young woman he knew since she was a teenager and he saw growing up to become an enforcer (Caitlyn). His hesitation and Jinx' bombs saved Caitlyns life. - Unfortunately Caitlyns naivety came back and kicked her in the butt. Even after Ekko told her, she couldn't imagine that the Sheriff himself is corrupt. Her picture of a Sheriff was that of Grayson, an honorable and good person. - I could write a dissertation about the fight between Ekko and Jinx, but don't worry, I won't. Let's just say it was brilliant in every possible way. ππ - You are absolutely right, when Jinx crosses the bridge, she hums the song she sang when she went on the bridge with Vi, looking for their parents in ep 1. "Dear friend, across the river..." Only now it is her carnage she walks through. ππ - The person crawling on the ground that Jinx shot so uncaring, was an enforcer who had survived the explosion. - And how it fuels Jinx' rage, when she sees Vi and Caitlyn, how her mind turned Caitlyns face into a devilish grimace...πΏπ - This is the first time Vi actually walkes away from Powder. She carries a wounded Caitlyn and her sister just shot at them. I think she realizes only now how drastically Powder has changed and doesn't know what to make of it. π - When Jinx shoots at them, Caitlyn tries to throw herself over Vi, while Vi at the same time pushes them both out of the line of fire. It all happens so fast, you should watch this short segment frame by frame to see it. Caitlyn throws herself in the line of fire to protect the people she cares about and Vi doing the same by pushing them away. ππ What a great way to tell you something about the characters without slowing down...π - Jinx little butterfly bomb ripped Marcus' arm right off. I wonder if we will ever know what happens to his daughter Ren now. Another orphan, as if there weren't already enough. π - About Ekko surviving: You could see Ekko jump aside at the last moment and we saw during his duel with Jinx how fast he is. He also has armor on that stopped a bullet fired from a short distance. And we learned in ep. 4, that Jinx' grenades need about five seconds until they explode. He is probably injured, but shurely not as severe as Jinx. π¨ As always, thank xou for reading! Happil waiting for your next reactions...π

2024-05-08 22:14:19 +0000 UTCObviously, the bridge fight was breath taking (as we can see by Dee's face frozen in disbelief for a minute). But for me this is also the episode where Fortiche really showed off with their facial impressions. Examples: 1 When Ekko says " Vi told me I can trust you" to Cait look at her face and the quick look she gave Vi. This was what she was hoping for: Vi trusting her. 2. I am dying for Vi's face close up when Caitlyn talks about "This city needs healing". For me this is when she falls for her. 3. Ekko and Jinx... I don't need to point it out, right? They remembered what used to be. And for me Jinx' impression clearly showed she was Powder atm, scared as hell and just wanted the fear and pain to stop. That is why this grenade was more for her than for Ekko. Her face said " Sorry, but I have to.." Gosh I love this show! Their visual story telling is unbelievable. Show not tell!

2024-05-08 22:12:14 +0000 UTC^^ I always thought it was the proto-mask (the origin) of a certain Virtuoso we know from lore too, there are the streaks under the eyeholes similiar to his. Good observation either way though, they're definitely similar! Ekko's mask is a little bit wider and looks more owl-like, with the feather-like offshoots at the temples of the Firelight mask. It also has a metal underlayer, for the cheek down to the jaw and jowls. Sorry! We've just seen this show too many times, lol Perhaps it's worth mentioning here though - the masks on the same shelf as that mask in question are easter eggs from the game. The middle mask is an item in game called "Liandry's Torment" and the last one on the right is "Haunting Guise". I know ScreenRant among many others like Necrit and TBSkyen go into these fun easter eggs if you're ever interested in seeing more since theres a ton they sneak in throughout the series :)

Now that itβs officially confirmed that Ekko is the leader of the Firelights I can point out that we actually see his mask in Benzoβs shop in episode 1! When he spies on Vander and Benzoβs conversation with Grayson, the end of his telescope-thing looks out through the left eye of the mask.
