The Legend of Korra 2x14 "Light In The Dark" | Reaction & Review (UNCUT)

Dont blame korra for losing her past lives, it was unalaq eho ripped her out of korra leaving korra weak and disoriented so she couldnt do much, she tried, you seen her look like she took a blow to the gut each time ravaa got hit, its painful. Korra trusted her uncle to the point it was too late, thats not her fault, everyone trusts their family until they show why they cant be trusted. Korra is the victim. Shes also still a teenager, she will make mistakes and she does learn from them.

Wow, Thank you for this explanation! You're the best Jenny! We missed the dialogue where Vaatu would reemerge and grow in the next 10,000 years. That is going to suck for that Avatar 😂

So I wrote my first comment about Jinora and the teapot before watching the reaction, but now that I have I’ll expand a bit more on (at least my understanding of) Raava and Vaatu and what Jinora seemingly did. So Raava told Wan that even if she managed to defeat Vaatu, he would grow inside of her and then emerge before the next Harmonic Convergence. (I feel really bad for whatever Avatar is alive 10,000 years from now, when they’ll basically have to spit out Vaatu and then immediately defeat him again.) So when Jolly Blue Korra confronts Unavaatu and presses on his chest she’s searching for Raava, but considering it takes ~10,000 years for the defeated spirit to grow and emerge, whatever bit of Raava was in Vaatu was too infinitesimal for Korra to detect. That’s where Jinora with the light (presumably from Wan’s teapot) comes in. I’ve seen some people describe it as Jinora speeding up the process of Raava regrowing, but I thinks it’s more like she connected the lingering essence of Raava to enhance whatever was just barely forming in Vaatu. Like she supercharged it.

The one thing I still can’t make sense of is how Korra was able to bend in her spirit form.

I’ve always thought that Raava could’ve made a giant kite-person with the avatar, but she chose not to for multiple possible reasons. Maybe it’s a permanent change, maybe the human is lost in the process, or maybe it’s just too powerful and destructive.

Jenny D

So I really like that they cut the connection with the past avatars. It shows that they're willing to really go in there and mess with the mythos. And like you said, it shows that things have consequences and ramifications. This is also the beginning where the other seasons of Korra change things in a dramatic way for the world.

No problem, I'm very excited for S3!!

Mathies

Thanks for confirming!

Meesh and Dee

Im pretty sure right now Vaatu is also inside Raava currently

Mathies

Hey you never know with the new Avatar series! I wonder what changes they will do 🫢

Meesh and Dee

Looking forward to it :)

I think Book 1 is my favorite, and Book 2, just like y'all, I got super into it when learning the history of the Avatar. I'll mention my overall feelings about the series after you finish everything.

Bryan Sproles

Although I love the second season, losing the connection with these avatars are still hurts me and i still dont think it was the best decision. Maybe it’ll be restored again maybe not. But we will see !

Israel

Oh interesting! What is your favorite book?

Meesh and Dee

So excited for this season 👀👀🤭🤭

Meesh and Dee

Same!! I am so hyped for Dee! -M

I’m going to try watching this tonight, but I looked through the Wiki to refresh myself, and…the next couple of books are great, but not my favorites. That’s all I can say for now with no spoilers 😁

Bryan Sproles

Season 3 is gonna be a fun one for sure

Rodi Borst

Not sure if this has ever been confirmed, but I read that between Jinora leaving Tenzin, Bumi, and Kya last episode and finding Korra this episode she went to Iroh and somehow used Wan’s teapot to find/bring out Raava. I actually really like that idea, because when I first watched the episode I thought it was a bit too convenient that Jinora was just able to restore Raava inside Vaatu (or whatever she did). So having it actually be hinted at earlier in the season when Iroh tells us that there’s still a bit of Raava’s light somewhere else actually makes the finale work a lot better imo.

Jenny D

Book 3 is hands down my favorite Korra season. It’s absolutely breathtaking!
