The Legend of Korra 2x13 "Darkness Falls" | Reaction & Review (UNCUT)

This episode broke my heart

Completely agree. Not to mention it must have been extremely disorienting and painful to feel her connection with Raava and her past lives being severed.

Can't wait to see your reaction to the finale and then to start Book 3. Something I like about KORRA is that this season on, there is actual change in the avatar world. And you'll see that as the series progresses. Tenzen sums it up nicely in the final episode of the series. Something I do not like is how people will use this episode and Korra's other losses to say that she's the worst Avatar and that Aang is superior. Anyway, the best is yet to come and I'm all here for it.

Although we HATE how the past lives our severed. The trade off that comes in S3 is pretty cool.

Let's go S3!!

Your comments literally made me laugh out loud πŸ˜‚

Agreed. Tenzin is the one who needed to hear it in the moment, and he was the only one still sane enough to talk to aang

Mathies

As for Korra seeming like she was gonna do something to stop it, personally I never felt like she looked strong enough in the moment, she was clearly physically out of it, just lost the spirit of Raava inside her. She's reaching out of desperation, not because she has some sort of plan yet to be revealed

Mathies

Gyatso DID call it the fog of lost souls in the live action. Anyway, controversial opinion but I actually dont mind that the connection to the past lives was severed. It opens up a lot of storytelling doors where she cant rely on them for guidence (not that she was utilising it much anyway) and she's forced to make her own choices more maybe with advice from people close to her in the real world. It also kinda makes the point that like, dont expect this to be the ATLA nostalgia show. We're not here just for some Aang exposition, which I think was important for the fans to understand at the time. This like doesnt even give you the false hope that you're getting some which i think is good

Mathies

Yeah, going from book 2 to book 3 is like whiplash.

I’ve always thought it isn’t a coincidence that we only see the Tenzin and Aang scene after Vaatu pulls Raava out of Korra. I think it was the real Aang visiting his son, not just a figment of Tenzin’s mind. Although if that’s the case, Bumi and Kya took another L.

Fuck this episode. All my homies hate this episode.

Jenny D

Loses all her connections to her past lives and Korra still goes off in season 3 baby haha

tiffany

Don't worry, it will be good :), episodes 12, 13, 14 are very epic, I like that the finale takes place in the spirit world.
