Agreed on that. Wishful thinking perhaps...πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‰

MasterOfPuppets

I get what she tries to do, but that was never my point. I wrote this from the observers point of view. It would be the waaay better option, it would spare a lot of lives. That is what Caitlyn was aiming for. Vi is too focused on her revenge. The firelights were already proven innocent by Caitlyn and would have been off the councils radar, no more Enforcers hunting them. They would "only" have to deal with a weakened Silco. And who says in the long-term Caitlyn couldn't be the new Grayson and Ekko the new Vander? And Heimerdinger as consultant. Together they maybe could form a significant counterweight to Silco and make things really better...πŸ€” My point is, Vi does what she almost every time does, punch first and ask later. She would set the world on fire, if it helps her to destroy Silco and his empire because she is so traumatized and angry, not realising how much possibilities of a better outcome for all she destroyed with her behaviour...πŸ™ˆ They weren't at the council for Vis benefit, but for all of the Undercity and to defuse a dangerous situation. At least Caitlyn thought so, but Vi only seemed to be seeking more armed fighters helping her in her revenge quest. She doesn't even seem to think about Powder anymore in this moment...πŸ™‚πŸ€” Off-topic: Thanks for your comment, I love to discuss such plot points, especially about such a well-written show. This gives my bew insights every time and widens my understanding...πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Thats just one interpretation of what Amanda said. It was a little ambiguous, but i dont think the mom is surprised she likes girl regardless

Mathies

A diplomatic solution with Silco wouldnt solve Vi's problems though. It would be great for silco and piltover, not so much for the firelights or Vi. There's also no guarentee from the council meeting that they were gonna do ANYTHING about silco, they mightve just let him continue? I dont know, Vi didnt make things worse for her own goals

Mathies

Sorry, I just wanted to add that I think what it is about you two is the fact that you two are what I imagine Cait and Vi to be like if they were reacting to Arcane. And it is everything I hoped it would be!

Boredmarinerd

OMG…one of the best reactions to episode 8 I’ve ever seen! (And I’ve seen more than I’m willing to admit to…) The reaction to them breaking into her room and her mom calling her a β€œfriend” was everything.

Great view here! This show has so many levels. Finale will be out tomorrow! Hope you guys enjoy watching it with us :)

Meesh and Dee

Ugh Thank you for this! Always an amazing read. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the finale! β™₯️β™₯️

You've touched on some great points as always! That's crazy that Amanda confirmed Caitlyn has been with women before! lol I would of never known. Seems like it was her first time. The show's portrayal of the normalization of diversity in sexual preferences and races is really refreshing. I love this approach as well. Finale will be up tomorrow! ❀️❀️

Meesh and Dee

I love Viktor's character! That scene was absolutely beautiful :')

Meesh and Dee

Lmao. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Some stuff they hide between frames - that was one of them, those sneaky animators and edits! I really nerd out with the transitions they have in the show. They packed alot in 5, but they have at least one match cut in each episode that makes different scenes flow together seamlessly. There are other transitions they employ that are super subtle, but work really well too!

Before I forget. If you go back to the beginning of ep. 6, you can see Vi rembering or halluzinating Powder painting the "Slug Monster" and the "Slug eating Crab" on the wall of their old home...😱😍😊

silverarrow06

This is an interesting thought...πŸ€”πŸ˜Š

silverarrow06

I agree to pretty much everything you wrote. 🧑Vi has a good heart without any doubt. She protects who she loves at all costs and she always sees it as her job to fix things. Quote from ep 7 to Ekko "I should have been there for you... for everyone!" This is Vi in a nutshell. Not only does she ignore others feelings in order to protect them. The same goes for her feelings. Her best (feelings, love) is always second place. She is a protector at all costs. But she is highly impulsive in her approach ("Punch first, ask later"). Clearly Caitlyn is the brains in this duo. She may be a little naive in her believe that everything can be changed to the good side, but she learns quick and adapts. She also questions her own thoughts and changes them if she has been proven wrong (in ep 7 she tells Ekko he must be wrong about Silco controlling the enforcers. In this episode she presents exactly his point to the council. Despite her position she is very open minded. I highly recommend StopMeOh "Caitlyn Kiramman - The moral compass off the show". And YES! The subtle writing of their relationship is pure gold. The little gestures show much more than a hasty kiss could ever possibly have managed. Next level writing .

MasterOfPuppets

Such a great reaction! Also, the way I see it when Vi talks about running away from the real monster, she is talking about herself, hitting her sister in anger. She knows that hitting her was wrong, but she still was a kid with impulse issues. She sees herself as the true monster of what happened to Powder when she hit her and called her a jinx. It is her response to what Caitlyn said about it not being her fault. I cannot wait for your reaction to the finale!!!

This! πŸ‘πŸ§‘πŸŒˆ

MasterOfPuppets

Hi there! Came across your edited version of ep. 5 and wanted to say great job! 😊 I've seen this show several times and always thought I got everything there is to know, but I never realized, that Jinx saw in her PTSD flashback the real dead Claggor and Mylo...πŸ˜‚πŸ˜± I know I said it before, but man I love this show...πŸ’–πŸ˜πŸ€©

silverarrow06

Hey hey! Wrote the same about Victor while you were uploading your comment...πŸ˜ƒ I'm totally with you on the "sexual preferences" thing. I too love that approach so much. (Wrote it under ep. 1) I wish it would be common in the real world...😊

silverarrow06

As always great reaction to a great TV-show...😊 - Oh my god, Caitlyn! 😨😭 The last picture of this episode hit me like a punch from Vi with her new gauntlets. I was so sure we would see Caitlyn leaving home and looking for Vi, instead... Why do I care so much for an animated character? These writers and animators are so damn good. πŸ˜πŸ˜…πŸ™ˆ - Mel is not a wolf (at least not yet), this one of the reasons she was banished for. She seemingly was looking up to her brother, who preferred a diplomativ solution. Her mother brought her on a battlefield to let her see war, because that was what hardened her and made her the successful military leader she is, but it had the opposite effect on her daughter, who only got more determined to not resort to war as long as possible. It only traumatized her daughter to see a young princess (I guess?) her age getting decapitated in front of her. (You saw the painting behind beautiful open haired Mel when she woke up from her nightmare, a way to process her trauma 😨). She firmly detests being a wolf, but her mother is trying to teach her the way Silco already lives by: Use "The base violence necessary for change". By the way, her brother was killed by a "wolf", thinking he could outsmart him as "fox"...πŸ™ - Did you notice the resemblance to Jayce, when young Mel described the future monarch of the conquered nation? "A kind face", "clever so she (he) can charm her (his) subjects, but pliable, so we can mold her (him)". She learned that particular lesson well. πŸ€”πŸ™‚ - Sky was the catalyst for his hand to merge with the hexcore. He needed the Shimmer variant to dampen the side affects of the merging with the hexcore, to stay alive. He had no Shimmer the second time and tried it anyway. Sky was "replacing" the Shimmer and absorbed the surplus power of the hexcore, what lead to her death... Poor Sky...πŸ’”πŸ˜ - It never occurred to me before, but watching it now with you again I noticed for the first time, how much damage Vi is causing with her anger and rage and her tendency to solve her problems with her fists. A negotiation with Silco would definitely have been the better option. Vi was wrong, Silco would have been ready to negotiate, you remember? He just wanted to scare the council into negotiations, because he knew he could never win a war against the topside. And if you go in, you never do so without proper reconnaissance. They didn't know about the alarm, about the Shimmer fueled fighters, about the many people (lots of them minors) working in these factorys...πŸ™ˆ Jayce and his hammer, Vi and her gauntlets (yeah, they're officially Jayces, but I doubt she will give them back)! And what a spectacular hammer/blast gun it is. The fight at the shimmer factory shows perfectly, how much hextech is superior to shimmer-tech. On the other hand, this fight was a horrible reality check for him. The accidentally killed kid, all the other kids working in the factory alongside the grown-ups, not because Silco is exeptionally gruesome (well, he is), but because their life down there left them no choice. When all this sinks in, he begins to understand that Mel was right, what horrors a war would cause. πŸ˜¨πŸ™ˆ Caitlyn prefers a diplomatic solution, you can see her shock, when Vi and Jayce talk about going in by force. At the firelights she said, the city needs healing and war certainly heals nothing. As much as I like Vi (and believe me, I really do like her) this was a stupid Vi thing to do, just like the break-in all those years ago. And Jayce can easily be convinced of anything. That's what made him so attractive (in terms of politics) for Mel in the beginning (see above). - I love how Vi padded reassuringly Caitlyns knee after she sat her down. πŸ’– More wonderful little Vi/Cait moments at the council meeting: The way Vi looks at Caitlyn, while she talks or when she takes Caits hand for a second, to signalise "thank you, but it's okay". I love seeing those two together so much. πŸ’– - When Jinx brings the gemstone to Silco in ep. 4, he looks more at the gemstone than her. When he finds the gemstone in Jinx' hand at the bridge, he only gives it a short look and is far more concerned about the wellbeing of his foster-daughter. He loves her so much in his own twisted way. 😨 - The whole scene in the Kiramman mansion is my favorite of this episode. The look on both of the girls faces, when mom kickes the door in and points her rifle at them, is priceless. 🀣🀣 It is interesting that Caitlyn runs to her father for comfort instead of her mother. Vis eyes get bigger the longer Caitlyn talks to her parents and the fact sinks in, that Caitlyn isn't just from the topside, but from the top of the topside. I love that Caitlyn spoke her mind to her mother and her reaction to it. Caitlyns mother grew on me from episode to episode. She has a talent, that every parent should have - she actually listens to her daughter and looks out for her. She helps her to get an audition at the council, even if she doesn't really understand what her daughter and her "stray" friend are up to. She was the one looking for her daughter after the shooting competition, while Caitlyns dad was enjoying the party. She helps Jayce at his trial, after her daughter insists to help him, despite the fact that the dad thought otherwise. She is also over-protective, narrow minded and strict in her idea what her daughter should do with her life, but you can see the same self-confidence, beauty, determination, intelligence and kindness in her as well as in her daughter. Only Caitlyn also has the warmth and compassion of her dad. She had a really blessed childhood. Not because they are wealthy, but because she has those overall good parents. 😊 Did you notice Vis puppy-eyed look, when Caitlyn re-enters her room? Their talk on the bed and Vi opening up to Caitlyn was far more intimate than any kiss ever could have been. Vi let Cait touch her face to console her and even takes her hand and clings to it. πŸ’– (Though the writers later mentioned there might have been an offscreen kiss, since they spent the whole day in Caitlyns room. They arrived in the early morning and went to the council in the late afternoon. Caitlyn has also put on her Enforcer uniform again.) The break-up in the rain: Vi reacts as expected. She pushes away who she loves, to protect this person. She wants to fight, when Caitlyn doesn't and I could imagine, she already thinks about contacting Jayce, the only one in the council who wants to fight and she knew Caitlyn trusts. She probably thinks she protects Caitlyn the best, when they're seperated. The same (very understandable) mistake she made with Powder. She doesn't take the feelings of the people she leaves behind into account. They won't step back for a second, while she puts herself in danger. πŸ€” - And finally the shower scene, my most loved moment of the episode, when Caitlyn bites her lip and shakes her head while reflecting her conversation with Vi and deciding to not give her up...πŸ’–πŸ˜ - ...followed by the most devastating moment in this episode, Jinx showing up behind a naked (and therefore extremely vulnerable) Caitlyn. (That purple glowing eye... 😱) I swear my heart skipped a beat when Jinx showed up in the mirror. πŸ™ˆ Once again, can't wait to re-watch the great finale along with you. 😊

silverarrow06

So much to wrap up here.πŸ˜‚ Okay ... Caitlyn's mom wasn't shocked at all Cait brought a girl to her room. In fact we know from Amanda Overton (lead writer for CaitVi) that Caitlyn has been with girls before. Generally speaking this is nothing special in this world. The writers are quoted that they wanted to create a world were there is no "normal" or better everything is normal. This goes for "sexual preferences" as for "races" too. If there is no "normal" there is also no "unnormal". This also makes clear that Vi's "man or woman" (ep 5) was (although very direct) just an informative question really. I love this approach so much! Her mom still had a big problem with Vi coming from the Undercity. So it is just about class differences here... And in this episode the creators really loved to play the viewers. Giving us sth to hype us up and immediately burn it to the ground CaitVi's bed scene transitioning to Jinx' torture scene ?! I mean this was has hard as a drop could be imo. But they thought "hey, when it works once..". Hyping us to the max with the battle scene.. aaaaand Jayce kills the kid. Showing us Sky's love confession.... aaaand let the man she loves and admires kill her (by accident). Rollercoaster time!! Victor needed shimmer to survive the transition and don't end like the plants. When it worked for his leg he wanted more. He ran out of shimmer, but tried it anyway. In the end Sky worked as the shimmer should have by being catalysing the transition. She absolutely saved his life by her sacrifice. A horrible outcome Viktor will always be remembered about by his changed hand. I wonder what this does to someone... Finally "Here comes Vi"...πŸ˜‚ You don't even know the song that should have been played here, yet you name it...πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I love Pvris's "Snakes" a lot, but it should have been "Here comes Vi" for real...🀩 Great reaction🧑🧑🧑 Hope for a double upload this week like last week. Will not be able to wait until next week..πŸ₯Ή

Was about to go to sleep but I had to stay up and watch this. Such a good episode, can't wait for the season finale! One of my favorite parts of this ep is seeing Victor run. It's probably the first time he's ever been able to run. Idk if you guys caught it, but, he's running on the dock past all the boats, referencing back to the beginning of episode 6 when he was trying to keep up with his toy boat he made but he couldn't and fell
