To comment on what y’all mention at the beginning, the Jon Snow spin-off did get cancelled 😭😭 but tbh i guess it’s kinda good that it did since there’s no more book to base it off of so🧍🏻♂️let’s be real now it probs would’ve been shit like season 8💀 BUTTT there is a confirmed show that comes out next year based off of “The Tales of Dunk and Egg” (90 years before GOT; its about Ser Duncan the tall and his squire Aegon V Targaryen). Anddd they just confirmed another show is starting production again. This other show is about the Rhoynar fleeing from Valyrian invasion before eventually settling in Dorne. This episode was so good, but as a book reader I am a little sad that there were some things the show decided to skip out on. I know the book is supposed to be taken with a grain of salt in a way since it’s like a biased writing of Westeros history but still HAHA💀 Some other comments about the episode: 1) ALICENT WHERE IS DUTY WHERE IS SACRIFICE NOW GIRL?!? 2) Rhaenyra only having one line this whole episode ate down like Emma’s acting is so good 3) The tapestry intro is probably my fav out of all 3, the GOT map and season 1’s bloodline intro were cool, but the storytelling in this one going from Aegons Conquest to the current episode with all the little details (like the green hand sending ravens and the black hand sending dragons referencing how each team is recruiting allies *CHEFS KISS* I love shit like that HAHAH) Last thing but if you love Emergency Awesome, Alt Shift X is another great YouTube channel that does breakdowns and ScreenCrush does a great job going over the little details and easter eggs that get missed

2024-06-18 15:08:45 +0000 UTCand 3 thoughts on aegon and his son here— one, that aegon probably wanted to bond with his son in this episode in the way that viserys never bonded with him; two, that helaena chose to be honest about which twin was her son because of the comment made earlier that day about ‘what if he doesn’t want to be king?’ (like how aegon didn’t want to be king); and third, note the difference in how aegon treats his “true born” son vs. his bastard sons he abandoned in child fighting pits— he was taught by alicent that only the true born children have value.
