They could get Percyβs soul backβ¦ I havenβt watched the campaign but I do agree that his storyline does seem to be stagnant. The fact that Ripley is still out there makes me feel like Percy may still have a little more juice.

2024-10-21 13:31:13 +0000 UTCThe twins knew their mom had been killed by a dragon but Raishan confirmed it was Thordak, specifically, and that's their connection to him. Their father had the twins brought to live with him when they were young which is why they weren't there when the town was destroyed.

2024-10-19 04:17:21 +0000 UTCTo expand upon this... The original group was Matt as the DM and Liam, Sam, Travis, Laura, Orion, and Taliesin as players. All but Taliesin were newbies or effectively so. Matt asked Tal to join to be the group's training wheels within the game. Marisha(who was dating Matt and had D&D experience) was there as a non-player to be the training wheels outside the game. Because of the setup, Tal was playing a character several levels higher than the rest so he could be their shepherd of sorts. Once the game switched from being a one-time only thing and turned into an ongoing game, Marisha joined as a player. Tal missed the next couple sessions, then rejoined as Percy. Ashley joined when Travis had to miss a session and he asked if she wanted to take his place. Orion was asked to leave around 6 months after the switch from home game to Twitch-streamed show.

2024-10-19 00:59:27 +0000 UTCi'd actually be fine if they kept percy dead, but they manage to see him one last time so he can say his goodbyes and vex can tell him what she wanted to tell him. His story arc would mostly be wrapped anyway if they got rid of ripley and orthax. I say this because i have a theory that maybe his soul hasn't moved yet but it's trapped by orthax's guns (which briefly lit up when he was shot) and that's why Vax didnt see his spirit near his body, but vax could see spirits of another person's dead body (i think i'm on episode 8 now so i wont comment even though episode 9 is already out), and if i think of chekhov's gun (no pun intended), they didn't animate those 2 things separately and "Waste" animation and production and air time, just to do nothing with it.

2024-10-19 00:31:38 +0000 UTCI love that what made vex's father give in was that Vex's only bargaining ship left was to just remind him of the truth that he's been avoiding. Even pyke's story was sprinkled with "the gods, they all lie, the TRUTH is in your blood". And meanwhile rashan and others are tiptoe'ing around the truth and lies, etc... This episode's themed around the factual truths of this world that we sometimes chose to bury deep down or forget... and i dont think Vex could have been able to sway her father if she didn't adopt that strategy... I dont think that was a persuasion check purely on charisma, i think that was a persuasion check with the wisdom of truth at its core, in other words... with advantage. "When you're at rock bottom, the truth is your only bargaining chip, and you'd be surprised how that truth can sway feelings and emotions... maybe the truth is what you'll need the most one day" - that's what Percy said , in the prison cell, when meeting vex for the first time.

2024-10-18 23:45:46 +0000 UTCYou're slightly overthinking the Thordak/mom connection. The twins knew their mom was killed by a red dragon, they just didn't know it was Thordak. What Raishan told Vax boiled down to: "He killed your mom and burned down your hometown." Now, it's possible Raishan was lying just to entice the twins into following her plan(she is the Diseased Deceiver after all), but this is a case where she was probably telling the truth. And now onto the really painful episode. :(
