Even though this might not be worthy of your attention as I imagine that you are not lovers of the actual game and players, I still want to elevate the fact that the promo for this year's grand final was among the best in e-sports history, if not the best (was shown to the audience right after the opening ceremony). I don't like to hype stuff up for people before they watch it, but I just had to mention it because of the amazing production and the way they humanized the players (last year's promo was also great in this aspect). In general, player's performances on stage are what makes the fans their fans, despite them getting opportunities to express themselves outside of the game, those expressions don't often make it to the mainstream media. This year's promo shone upon the players personal side in a special way and I just thought that it was beautiful as a long time fan of e-sports. Maybe not as a stand alone video reaction, but I'd love to know the opinion and thoughts of someone who isn't deeply connected to the competitive league scene. 2024-11-28 04:37:15 +0000 UTCThis ceremony was insane, the only flaw, at least with the video is that, in my opinion riots cam crews dont do a good job filming massive dance groups (to many close ups for somthing thats meant to be seen from a far and as a group), anyway love the whole thing and the cup rising to emilys scream was just sick. U wrote that you gonna do rewatches of arcane on discord but I imagine we will also get the "normal reaction" like you did for season 1 here on patreon right?

2024-11-05 14:31:17 +0000 UTCEditor here - that mightve been an editor's note, but it was made to get ahead of commenters getting carried away about why they shouldn't play it and not simply a dig at League. It mostly seems to have worked, despite ironically having this convo. While there are many times I throw in meme-y notes to their reactions, I have the occasional blip of thought to get in front of the chaos that is the Youtube comment section when I think a particular part of the reaction will get zeroed in on. As an aside, I have personally advised them against playing League with the disclaimer that there is a steep skill floor for anyone unfamiliar to MOBAs to start with, much less folks who don't even play vid games - which M&D very much are. Join us for our Tech Assistance livestreams on Discord for a sample of their familiarity with computers :) I'm definitely open to having them try it for themselves if they have the time and patience to discover a completely new gaming experience though. I can appreciate someone out here spreading the good word of playing League, as it has been part of many people's online interactions around the world. TLDR; It really isn't that serious, but staying positive about League does feel like a welcome change and maybe we need more of it.

This is the source of the speculations, not TikTok :D Since they don't have anything going for next year (so far) chances are higher than 2024s where Arcane would already be a big enough event.

2024-11-04 20:41:01 +0000 UTCLittle off topic but ngl - I got a little triggered reading the "dw they got advised against playing" editor note - I hope it's just for meme points cuz this type of comments gets upvoted in comment sections. While I don't think Riot needs reactors to start playing their game (99% probably just play a game after work and watch Arcane/worlds and don't consume any LoL releated stuff outside of that) I'm here giving money away for THEIR content and you and maybe even editors make money cuz of them too. I feel like this thing about "toxic community" finds it's roots in exactly those ppl writing these comments, actively hindering new ppl to come into a 15 year old game - which is somehow still the biggest online multiplayer pvp game though it seems to be this "bad"? These ppl don't trust adults to make their own choice and try something out? These ppl want new cinematics, content, more series like Arcane ... but advise any1 they meet against touching League as if we would've gotten any of that media following this advise and Riot producing stuff out of air. And somehow if one visits the Dota, Call of Duty, Counterstrike, FIFA or even Chess communities they'll say themselves they got the most toxic community almost as if it's inherently human in a competitive environment and not about the game (would any1 describe LoL players like this looking into comment sections below reaction content). Rant over which has nothing to do with M&D, doesn't defend the billion dollar company nor actively tries to advertise LoL - just saying these ppl are f*ing weird. Since I'm already writing a comment: Also hyped for the next Godzilla reactions ... by chance I'm also a huge Godzilla fan since seeing the old japanese movies in tv as a kid in early 2000s.
