A Silent Voice (2016) | Reaction & Review (UNCUT)

Comments

We’re working on getting the edited version on here since it got taken down on our main channel. We will have it here soon ❤️

Meesh and Dee

Do you guys plan on reuploading the cut youtube version of A Silent Voice? I got the notification when it dropped but then wasn't there when I went to watch it after work 🥲. I don't have my own copy of the movie to be able to sync it with this uncut version 😭

Tita we really appreciate the insight into Shoko's situation and the extra tidbits of the film. This one was a sad one but we loved it anyway. As for the tissue moment... 🤣 We really needed the laugh.

Meesh and Dee

Listeen~ Now that Dee said this in intro you really need to bump up Spy Family on your list 😉 Shoko being in a regular class~ I worked as Behavior Therapist (for kids with autism, adhd, trisomy13 etc) we practiced Applied Behavioral Analysis on our methods and the idea is to use “modeling” and natural environment for the kids to learn proper behaviors and interactions in certain situations guided by therapists- thats why they are being mixed in regular classes and is usually limited to 1-2 kids per class only. It is widely used in special education, this may not be the same case for Shoko but im guessing this is probably what they have done here. Note sure if you already heard of this but here’s some nice to know stuff: ~According to one senbazuru legend (senbazuru literally means “one thousand cranes”) whoever folds one thousand paper cranes will be granted a wish. -this is what the blonde girl tried to do for Ishida but it wasn’t finished whats why she was hesitant to give it at first ~The moon is beautiful, isn't it?" in Japanese is [tsuki ga kirei desu ne] This phrase is a more poetic way of saying I love you or interpreted as “I like you” In some anime with the word “Like” = “suki” in japanese which almost sounds like “tsuki” in the phrase too— explains what Ishida said in the end that he only heard whats convenient for him and that he realized it later. You will probably encounter this in other anime too is a pretty subtle way of shipping characters sometimes or so the fans believed. Also disclaimer im not an expert in japanese or their culture just a nerd who had to google to relate to shows I watched. Glad you enjoyed the movie despite~ the Balcony scene to the end of movie (always makes me 🥹) Lastly… Not the passing of used tissue lmfao thats a much needed laugh for these scenes. 🤣

Caramelatte

HAHAHA why did we just literally lol reading this… i really passed Meesh the tissue like it was a blunt 🤣 real recognize real right, Noa?! Thanks for always making our day by watching with us virtually 🥹❤️‍🔥

Meesh and Dee

We can cry & die together now 😭💔

Meesh and Dee

Also had the most confusing cry laugh when y'all were passing that sopping wet tissue back and forth like a blunt 😭If y'all keep up this trend with the anime movies you're both gonna need your own dedicated tissue box LMAO

noaburr

Well shit you guys weren't kidding about how sad this was. That ending hit haaard. ❤️‍🩹

noaburr

Good to know! Thanks

plse dont watch it, it is a classic anime film but it would crush you, if u do want a not so crushing one then weathering with you or as some above stated i want to eat your pancreas , however both would need tissues, with grave of the fireflies i would suggest locking any windoes above 2nd floor and swithing the gas off

Richard Rear

to say this one hits hard is an understatement, still nothing can really prepare you for Grave of the Fireflies if you ever watch that one. Some movies you can never watch again, for various reasons, Grave is one of those for me. I have it on Laserdisc (yes, laserdisc) but have never been able to revisit it. I generally don't like to spoil any uhh....emotions you might feel from something, Foreshadowing spoilers basically, but I think with Grave people need to be prepared. Its probably top 10 maybe even top 5 anime films ever made, but it rarely gets talked about cause its such a hard watch, I did see someone mention it above, so I wanted to offer this...warning.

👀👀👀

Meesh and Dee

Hi Martin! Totally get where you’re coming from—some movies just hit too hard emotionally, and that’s okay. It might be worth revisiting someday, but only if you feel up to it. Thanks for sticking with us! We’ve got some fun stuff coming up, so hopefully the next movie is one you enjoy 🫶🏻

Meesh and Dee

That movie is high on our list! We need to laugh now 😭

Meesh and Dee

lmaooo this one hits hard forsure we need all the thoughts and prayers 😫

Meesh and Dee

We really thought we were about to watch a cozy, cute, happy film...we were so wrong lol 😭 This movie was super heavy but what a brilliant movie. Thanks for breaking down all the stuff we missed! It makes it even sadder... and yes, looking back Kawaii was just as bad too smh.. 😡

Meesh and Dee

If you want to watch another happy movie like this one I recommend "I want to eat your pancreas"

DJHangover 21

can anyone imagine these two watching graves of the firefly

Richard Rear

This movie I think might be a bit much for me. I think the constant suicidal ideations the characters are going through just makes me sad. I never could bring myself to love the movie in the end. Maybe I should give it another shot. I don’t know if maybe the female characters weren’t explored enough maybe? Which is weird because that usually doesn’t worry me too much. Anyways always good to see new content from you guys. Can’t wait for the next movie. Hopefully it’s something I’ve seen so I don’t have to do homework. Thanks!

Martin Healy

Great reaction. I can see how much you both were holding on to your tears at the end 😂. Little something something here: The reason why Ishida mom was bleeding at the beginning was because Nishimiyas mother pulled her earring off of her ear, like a payback for when Ishida pulled Nishimiyas hearing-aid and made her ear bleed. As much as you hate Ueno put half of that hate on Kawaii too. She was as bad as her 😅. Oh, and the person who pulled Ishida out of the water was his old friend, the blonde guy who bullied him. Also, Ishida wasn't bullied before. The bullying started after he was caught on bullying Nishimiya.

Mango

Don’t know if I can rewatch this one with yall cause it left me in the trenches the first time I watched it, but throwing you my thoughts and prayers 😂

mykanike

Can’t wait to watch this when I get off work! We need to take a break from all the tears and watch something with lots of laughs (Tropic Thunder) 😂

AdmiralZhou

OK! Time to get my tissues 😭
