It's the start of the Meiji Restoration when the tech being brought into Japan is still VERY New which is the point of my post. Electricity is new, cities that never sleep is new, trains are new. You can humdrum about the particulars, but my point that they are in a period of rapid tech infusion into their society is actually happening and that was what I was pointing out.

this is not true, the show takes p[lace during the reign of Emperor Taisho, the Taisho era (hence Taisho secrets at the end of episodes) which is from 1912-1926 and we know from different context clues that its before 1922.

This show is set during the Meiji Restoration Era of Japan, which is when the borders were finally opened up and a flood of technology came into the nation. Cities got it all first and very quickly but rural folk were still VERY new to it. It all came in so fast that they had the time to build things like *Train* tracks and networks and other modern stuff of that era and it would still be surprising to the people that lived in the mountains when info/news traveled slow.

... And over exaggerating the melons isn't fan service-y? Lmao. I love Demon Slayer but lets be real. There are too many moments like that to call it "tame". Unless you're only comparing it to the absolute worst offenders of fan-service in anime. Which is just being disingenous imo, considering how many animes don't do it🤷

I don’t mind the resync. Funny thing is that when you say “3,2,1 start” I’m somehow still not in sync with your video 😂 maybe because I’m not watching from netflix But yeah I’d rather resync and have you read better subs than whatever netflix is giving.

Don't worry you're safe lol. Demon Slayer isn't really a "fan service" kind of Anime, the worst they do is over exaggerate the female characters "melons" as Meesh put it 😂 but they're definitely one of the tame Animes in regards to that type of stuff...also, for the intro I'd recommend just doing whatever's easiest for you guys. Us Crunchyroll users already have to resync midway thru with the midway credits and also again at the end with the Taisho Era secrets so resyncing really isn't a problem/bother imo

Ssshhhhh we all collectively saw nothing. NOTHING I tell ya! 😭 😂 (I'm guessing the episode upload triggered a notification before they could make it hidden in another tier so that they can have a stable release schedule for us. Because they always try to be ahead of the community to ensure we don't get any downtime :)

maybe for some, but perceptive bunch have been able to notice things and grasp certain things, including the "threats" that are out there and some backstories, just from the intro. I know that because i'm one of them, and i've modded for multiple reactors so far, and 4 pairs off reactors out of 10 didn't take the warning seriously, but then they noticed some stuff that festered in their subconscious and by hte time the episodes happen, they already knew what was happening... and they told me that the intro was what planted the seed. And meesh is EXTREMELY averse to spoilers, even the smallest things like "oh you're gonna love some episode in this season" sends her enraged because she likes to feel the shows in rawness. And we can be sure that the girls are perceptive: Meesh seems to pay attention to the nitty gritty details especially on a second rewatch, and Dee's more perceptive in terms of emotional beats and narrative notions (her gut feelings about rengoku, immediately realizing it's muzan shapeshifted in boy form AFTER the timeline of mugen train and not flashback, even though meesh picked up the skin comments etc). So both of them together can be a bit the equivalent of 2 saiyans doing a fusion dance... overpowered but risky lol. So best not to risk it. If they accidentally glimpse a scene in the mayhem once in a while on intro? sure, but if you are WATCHING the intro 2 times per episode (once in sub and once in dub) ffor multiple times... they'll notice things... they noticed them in other shows too, such as noticing that Arcane has small flashes of different scenes/frames between episodes before the community even said it (i talk to them offline). So yeah, that's why i say "watch it after, you can enjoy it as many times after a certain episode and i'll tell you after you release said episode"

@meesh/Dee just to clarify because you were talking over it and focusing on the tig'ol bitties : There are 2 oirans: Koinatsu (the one in Tanjiro's house), and warabihime (the one in zenitsu's house). That's why the shaperone that took in Inosuke was being excited around 13minutes into the episode that she finally found a pretty girl that she can train (inosuke) to finally have their household be able to compete with the other 2 house Oirans. A lot of the oirans wear similar makeup, due to tradition and culture there, but i want to drive home that there are 2 oirans there, they're NOT the same person. A lot of reactors miss that line because of laughing at inosuke, and they DEFINITELY all missed the explanation (because of the boobas) when tengen was talking about his 3 wives, and how each one of them was sent to a separate household of the other 3 families, one in each, and that suma was sent in tanjiro's household (around koinatsu oiran), Hinatsuru was sent to where Zenitsu is right now (around warabihime oiran), and Makio was sent where inosuke is right now (where there's no oiran, but inosuke's about to enter to enter makio's room, and we know makio's for sure been abducted by something).

I'm fine with either, Meesh/dee, but i arleady have to resync ANYWAY because crunchy has a small intermission panel (2s) in the middle and netflix doesnt so i have to resync nway.. so might as well for intro. I still PERSONALLY believe that crunchy is superior to netflix for anime. that being said, girls i wish i could say otherwise but the subtitles for netflix are HORRIBLE and they even present the sentences out of order sometimes, which clashes with what's on screen vs what is being said.. I'm happy to get us a moderators crunchyroll if you want, to make it simpler, but worth thinking about it. especially latter seasons and the quality of animation and subtitles is better on crunchy.
