Awesome episode! I kinda was waiting for you to drop the Cold Blood version that Gaylord Birch played on cuz it's sick too and just Gadson's juiced... but I get you are celebrating the Gadson, and I can't blame you for that

2024-01-18 03:21:13 +0000 UTCThe use of it by Dr Dre for "Let Me Ride" and by Eric B and Rakim for "In the Ghetto" are especially interesting because it becomes a transplanted rhythm bed for completely different source melodies (Dre using Mothership Connection from Parliament & the other using that 24k Black song). Each use functions like a DJ blend!
