2025-05-06 19:52:55 +0000 UTCTwice, we hear the Doctor assure River that she is “forgiven, always and completely forgiven.” I think that must be what the Doctor whispered to Melody Pond as he was dying in Let’s Kill Hitler. It was something important he wanted Melody to tell River Song. She was visibly moved. I think the Doctor’s forgiveness enabled Melody to overcome her murderous programming and become River Song.
