here is my timed reaction to the 2011 doctor who christmas special "the doctor, the widow and the wardrobe"
as always, this was an emotional and special christmas special!! i really loved the inspiration from chronicles of narnia!

I've come to love this one for its qualities and faults in recent years. I wasn't as enthralled upon my first few viewings. I still have one writing / production bugbear. "I know...." You might think that it could be the unfathomable opening sequence of The Doctor seemingly travelling through the vacuum of space, breathing and speaking. Oddly, it's not, although it probably should be more than my actual mental crawlspace gripe. 🤣 It's that we see both these apparent regular human children THREE YEARS apart, and they look absolutely no different. This is easier to accept with adult actors. Not so much with pre and post adolescent stages of ageing. It annoys me more so because I can't help but feel it was avoidable. By either making the time scale shorter, or by not featuring them as clearly on screen until the later stage. The bonkers things we love to love, and love to let bother us. 😂 I guess that's what makes us, humany wumany. 😄
