2025-01-25 10:58:51 +0000 UTCYou know, people keep saying this, but it's totally missing the point. It's why I mentioned Evan Peters. It's not about recognizing the character. It's about Feige and Marvel saying to the audience, "Hey, you know this actor from this thing you watched? You know how much you loved them as that character? Well, we're bringing them back!" It's a chance for Marvel to acknowledge that the Marvel Universe is actually bigger than the MCU. They could have recast so many actors at any time, but they didn't. Because the audience loves the actors in those roles. If you haven't seen those things, then, yeah, you won't feel the same about it. Ashleigh has said that she wants to see everything -- I have only suggested that she skip one movie because I feared it would unnecessarily confuse her. Otherwise, why not let her feel what so many of us have felt? There's a jolt of recognition and the excitement of, "OMG, they're in this one?!?!?" I just want Ashleigh to feel that, too. 🤷♀️

2025-01-23 03:09:23 +0000 UTCPeople have known Kingpin from a LOT of different media over multiple decades. Multiple animated shows, videos games, comics. I haven't yet seen the original Netflix version of Daredevil show, but grew very familiar with in the the Spider-Man Animated Series and Daredevil film and it was still was a BIG pleasurable shock finally him in his rightful place as a major villain in the MCU, especially as a teenager who was expecting him in the first Tobey Spider-Man film. I sure hope him and our current live action Spidey face off someday.

Yeah, that's what it should have been like for Vincent D'Onofrio as Kingpin. It's crazy that he's part of the MCU now and I wish you could have had that reaction.
