OVERLORD: GOD OF THE NEW WORLD - CHAPTER 27

[Brightness Dragon Lord POV]

It took a while, but finally everyone was here, Cure, Platinum, Sword, Emperor, Darkness, Heavenly and me. Now, it was time to plan our approach. “I know most of us hate each other, but we also know entities like the players are beyond our personal reach,” I started, looking at everyone around the table.

“We all know why we are here, Brightness,” Platinum sighed, glaring at his father, “Now the question is, how do we approach this player? As I recall you told he had subordinates that were around his level of power. Meaning an ambush could very well lead to our demise.”

I nodded, “Yes, his subordinates are indeed strong, but I have a plan for that.”

“Well go on then,” Cure hissed.

“He seems to be looking for a challenge of sorts.” I started, “He came here to measure me up, the same way he measured you up, Coffin.”

“So that’s why he didn’t stay to play,” Cure chuckled.

“Meaning he won’t accept help from his subordinates, not unless he’s about to die.” I nodded.

“That brings us back to square one,” Darkness sighed.

“Not necessarily,” I replied.

“I see what you want to do, seal him with us in a pocket dimension where his allies can’t reach,” Platinum said.

“Yes, but that alone won’t be an easy task,” I nodded.

“He will sense the dimensional barrier, and even if he doesn’t sense it, he will be able to break it like glass from the inside out,” Emperor added.

“We might be able to create a dimension strong enough to hold him inside if we use our life forces as the beacons of said dimension,” Heavenly replied.

“That could work… it would force him to kill us before leaving the pocket dimension,” Cure hissed in approval.

“Now, that’s just the cage meant for our battle, how would we proceed once inside,” I asked, because in all honesty I had no idea.

“If he’s as strong as you say, Heavenly and I should take the lead,” Darkness replied, “I counter his elemental affinity, and Heavenly share his same affinity, meaning he would be quite resistant to his attacks, while I would deal more damage than any of us, Platinum should also be there.. Considering he has an above average resistance to holy magic, and evil karma,”

“That would leave the rest of us as supports, right?” Cure hissed.

“Yes,” I nodded, “We need to play our elemental advantages to the best of our capabilities,”

“Good,” Emperor smiled, getting a few glares from everyone in the room.

“Don’t ever forget this is your fault.” I growled, “We had peace, until you decided to summon creatures to serve you, and what happened? They didn’t, now we have monsters roaming the world, with strength beyond our reach… just because you wanted to be stronger….”

“The first thing I will do after killing this player, is kill you…” Cure smiled.

“I did what I had to do,” Emperor smiled, ignoring the glares he was getting.

“Very well, let’s start creating the pocket dimension.” I nodded.

[Alastor POV]

Back in Nazarick, I decided to experiment with my newest pawn, Zesshi, putting her under Albedo’s direct command. Needless to say, Albedo was happy with the assignment, and promised me she would break the girl into perfect obedience.

Walking towards Ainz’s office, I entered the room to see Ainz and Demiurge planning their attack on the Theocracy, with a smile, I waved at him making my presence known to them. “Alastor, good to see you,” Ainz greeted, “Take a seat, we were talking about how to proceed with our vengeance against the Theocracy.”

I looked at the plans they had, and chuckled, they really wanted them to suffer, their plans were outright terrifying, not only they wanted to raise an army of undeads and demons to level their country, but they also wanted to torture them psychologically using their love ones as weapons, Ainz in short wanted to resurrect their love ones, and use them as weapons, which all and all was very grimm, even for me, but then again, the result was the same.

“You guys sure are going all out with that,” I laughed.

“Well, they attacked one of us, meaning they declared war on Nazarick.” Ainz replied with a chuckle.

“That makes sense,” I smiled.

“Our spies have already infiltrated the kingdom,” Demiurge added with a smile, fixing his glasses. “And according to them, they are preparing to attack us, using their last resort , their last world item.” So they had another World Item, this was interesting.

As if sensing my worry Ainz chuckled, “Don’t worry, seeing as some inferior beings in this world have WORLD ITEMS, I took the liberty to give the guardians a world item each. To avoid such items affecting them.”

At that I smiled. “Good,”

“If I may Alastor-sama… I have a question,” Demiurge said, taking a step forward.

“Go ahead,” I replied.

“What is the purpose of Zesshi here?” Demiurge asked.

“None,” I answered, “Her life is inconsequential. I simply find her amusing, but her life and how it ends, is none of my concern, so if any of you find her annoying, feel free to kill her.”

“I see, how could I be so blind,” Demiurge smiled, as if realizing something. “To think you were so ahead of us, that only Ainz-sama saw this… is incredible…” say what now. Turning to look at Ainz, he had the same expression of WTF. “You allowed her to come, to use her as a tool for your revenge, seeing their greatest hero slay them… will surely destroy their spirits! So brilliant! So unique! As expected of our supreme lords!”

“Yes Demiurge, I expected nothing less from you!” Ainz declared, still with his WTF face.

“I do what I can with my clearly inferior intelligence, Ainz-sama,” Demiurge bowed.

“Demiurge, why don’t you help Albedo with Zesshi, while I talk with Ainz.” I added.

“As you wish!” Demiurge smiled, teleporting out of the room.

“Ok, how long do you think we can keep this?” I asked Ainz.

“A few years, maybe a decade if we play our cards right… his genius finds logic in all our mistakes, is… remarkably scary, and praise worthy.” Ainz sighed.

“I’d say,” I chuckled.
