OVERLORD: GOD OF THE NEW WORLD - CHAPTER 30

As the barrier filled the entire area locking into their life forces, I started to feel something, magic, invading my body. “What is the meaning of this?” it wasn’t hurting me, but… it was a familiar feeling, like the one I felt when I first arrived in this world.

“With the help of my fellow dragons, I will enslave you.” Emperor, the dragon responsible for the summoning of players to this world declared. “Soon you will fulfill the role your summoning had intended, to obey me!”

Growling, I teleported in front of him, plastering his face against the ground so that he couldn’t even move. “Undo this barrier, now!” I ordered, my voice muffled by absolute rage.

“Oh yeah? Or what? You can’t threaten me!” Emperor chuckled, as his fellow dragons jumped to aid him.

“Or else you’ll disappear. And I’m not talking about dying, but something much worse…. Believe me, you have no idea what I’m capable of” I growled, blasting the dragon away with a tier five spell.

“Worse than dying?” Cure cackled. “You inferior creatures sure are morons!”

“Inferior?” I laughed, blocking their attacks, while avoiding the ones that could actually hurt me, like the attacks from Deep Darkness.

“You will serve! Your life will be mine! And there is nothing you can do about it!” Emperor declared.

“You’re not taking my free will that easily, you putrid parasite,” I scowled from behind him, driving my hand through his tail. “Not that you will ever succeed anyways.” if only they knew my passives, they would know things like mind control were out of the question.

“Now Heavenly!” Deep shouted, as Heavenly, Platinum and Brightness started to buff him and the one named Sword, using primal magic, different to the one I was used to.

“No matter how much armor you add to a bug, a bug he will remain.” I growled, charging at him.

In return, both Deep and Sword charged at me, their auras flaring a bright blue in the darkness of the barrier as our attacks interlocked, pushing against one another. I had to admit, the amount of buffs they had were making this a fun endeavor, but, fun or not, they would pay for their offense.

“No matter how much you buff yourselves… or try to match my power with trickery and such, you will never reach me, just as the magic you are trying to use on me will never work” I could feel their attempts, but unfortunately for them, as a God I was immune to brainwash, only world items would work, and that was if I didn’t have a world item of my own.

“We’ll see!” Emperor shouted.

With a smile, I looked at Deep and Sword, as they struggled more and more against my attacks, sweating in effort, all while I remained stoic, easily overwhelming their buffed effort, all while blocking the attacks the other dragons were throwing to help them. “Ants trying to kill a god, how sad.” I laughed.

“Careful not to choke on your modesty, Player!” Deep growled, “We have defeated your kin before, you will not prevail!”

“All that power, and yet you use it to hurt others…. To bring pain, I pity you.” Sword added.

“I am the one that stands above all living creatures, to kill them, to allow them to live… it's all within my mighty right.” I replied.

“As it is ours… to stop you.” Sword smiled, “Now Deep…”

“You will die.” Deep muttered.

“I know, but I might as well go down the way I want to.” Sword chuckled, and with a smile of his own, full of sadness, Deep swallowed him whole.

“Ok… hold the fuck up. What the hell is going on?” I was genuinely shocked, and a bit concerned, I wanted to kill them, but jesus fuck, that was disgusting.

“Darkness is the thing that swallows the universe whole, making it a part of it… those who are willingly swallowed by the darkness, become the darkness itself.” As if on cue, Deep’s power skyrocketed, he was twice as powerful, stat wise.

In response I merely sighed in disdain and matched his power but Deep was so intoxicated with his extraordinary new power that he felt almighty, unrestrained, godly, and so in hubris he launched a powerful blast at me, which I dodged easily, teleporting a few meters away, with a smile, Deep pursued, following up with a series of precise attacks that led to a flurry of hand-to-claw combat. “I compliment your skill, really. Out of all the people I have ever faced here, you’re the first one to push me to use more than… I’ll say eighty percent of my power, but…. Let me tell you a secret… We angels, archangels and Gods don’t look like this.”

“I don’t care how you look!” Deep growled, blasting me away with a tier six spell that actually did some damage.

On the ground, I started to laugh. “You should care… because this beautiful appearance is nothing but a seal. In all honesty, I don’t need to reveal my true appearance to kill you, because even in my beautiful state… I am vastly superior to you, but… what are the odds I will ever need to use my true form in battle.” releasing the seal, my body started to morph, as new faces started to appear in my body, that of a lion, a goat, an eagle, and raven, at the same time, more wings started to pop from my back and front, leaving me with six pair of wings, with a broken halo that looked like a crown appeared above my head. “Now… let’s play!” I spoke in many voices, adding a distorted effect to my voice, as if many were speaking at once.

“What… the fuck… are you!” Deep shouted, as I teleported behind him, his reaction time was so slow in comparison that he could barely turn around, paralyzed by the overwhelming power I was emitting.

“I. AM. GOD!” I spoke, my voices echoing through the barrier, just before I slammed his head to the ground, “And you are my meal!”
