Twilight: We Are Venom! - chapter 25

After the pack of wolves left the restaurant, I went to the forest to practice with Venom, while Carlisle dealt with the school calling for my… absence. According to the text, the school was surprised, considering our perfect grade record and stuff.

-Why do we waste our time there?- Venom inquired.

“Alice,” I replied, she was the only reason I even tolerated school, oh well, I dig my grave when I accepted to go this year, next time I will pick the college role, it easier, and it’s actually fun, school is just the same, but college, I can just pick different careers.

-Maybe we drop out?- Venom said.

Not a bad idea, “I think I will…” I grinned.

-Yes!- Venom growled excitedly, -So… what do we do with our free time then?-

That was a good question, with Aro on my back, and his loyal worms roaming around, waiting for me to mess up, I was trapped in a cage of his own making. The powers his coven had were too much for me to handle alone, especially the powers that girl had, one simple glance was enough to knock me down, and while I had a few theories on how to stop her attack, I had no guarantees they would work, my only option was to kill her before she even managed to see me, which considering her petite frame it would take me a single punch to crush her skull. “I suppose we could train some more, maybe learn something new… I don’t know…” I replied.

-I hate that little vampire gnome- Venom hissed angrily.

“I know, me too buddy.” I sighed, as a new smell entered the vicinity. Flexing my legs, I turned back to normal, and sat.

-Smells like a human… and wet dog, yummy.- Venom said with a small chuckle.

“We don’t eat humans, we eat chocolate… and bad humans, but not anymore… because we are vegan.” Rules of the Cullen coven.

-I don’t like Alice anymore!- Venom huffed.

“Hey! This is private property!” and there is the scent I felt.

“No it’s not.” I replied, turning around to see a rather beautiful girl standing a few meters away from me. Her skin, a perfect copper color that mixed in  harmony with her eyelashes that looked like feather dusters moving with the wing. As for her clothes, she was wearing a khaki short, and a white shirt.

“Yes it is, this is part of the reservation.” The girl growled.

“No… the reservation ends a mile that way,” I pointed with a chuckle.

“I am part of the reservation, you really think… I don’t know where the land of my people ends?!” once again, she growled, no wonder she smelled like wet dog, she was probably related to the shifters.

“Yes, I suppose one would assume you should know. But alas, here we are…” I nodded.

“You are begging for an ass kicking,” the girl… yes you guessed it, growled.

-She is annoying…- Venom sighed.

“Adorable, but… that ain’t gonna happen,” I winked, “Look, while I would love to discuss about something you are clearly wrong, I have better things to do, like not talking to you.”

“That's it!” as she charged at me, I threw my map at her face.

“Look at it,” I smiled.

“You… are right…” she went from mad to embarrassed in less than a second, new record, no, no, that vampire we killed in Africa pissed his pants in less than a second, so… that still holds the record in change of emotions.

“I always am, now… bye bye~” I replied, grabbing my map before starting to make my way back to the town.

“I’m sorry…” she whispered, and I stopped dead in my tracks.

“What was that?” I asked, turning around.

“Look… I’m sorry, I had a bad day… week… bad month, I had a bad month, and that’s no excuse, you are not part of my problem.” Well that’s surprisingly mature of her, considering she was about to throw me some hands a few seconds ago.

“Hey, don’t worry, we all have bad days, weeks… or months, it's part of the fucked up gift we call life.” I replied.

“That’s sad… and quite accurate,” she sighed, “My name is Leah Clearwater, what’s yours.”

“Jack Cullen.” I replied, immediately getting a negative reaction from her. “And that’s the end of this conversation,” I chuckled.

“Sorry… just..” Leah started to fidget around.

“Your family told you to stay away from us right?” I sighed.

“Yes,” Leah nodded.

“Hey it’s okay.” I winked, “Family feuds are important, specially in small towns like this one,”

At this Leah snorted, “I suppose… you don’t seem so bad, or dangerous like they said.” oh she didn’t know yet, then again, if she knew, she would’ve never tried to attack me, she was still a human, and if needed I could crack her neck like a toothpick.

“Well… you have only known me for five minutes, I could very well be a serial killer that lurks in the forest waiting for lone girls to prey on and kill…” I replied with an evil voice, or my best imitation or guess of how one sounded.

-Meh, I give it a 3 out of 10… bad tone, and too little hiss… hiss like me, hisss!- Venom said, rating my performance… quite poorly.

“Well Mr. Serial Killer, I have pepper spray, so behave.” Leah laughed.

“Jokes on you, I'm into that shit.” I laughed.

As we laughed, howls started to be heard around the forest, the wolves were coming to pick her up, or rather giving me a warning to stay away, “Wolves… lately they have been appearing out of nowhere…” Leah muttered.

“Well… I’m off, otherwise Dad will kill me,” I sighed, “See ya later Leah,” if the wolves don’t ground you for talking with me that is.

-You like her… hahahahahahah!- Venom teased.

At this I rolled my eyes, I didn’t like her, I was a few years older than her, and by a few I mean I could be her grandpa, but I found her to be a good talk, a normal one that doesn't involve blood, visions of the future, blood, feelings, blood, hunting, and blood.

-Jack and Leah, sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G! First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes baby in a baby carriage!- Venom sang, continuing his teasing.
