Twilight: We Are Venom! - chapter 10

In front of us stood the one that had taken what it was rightfully ours, Alice, the one that had killed her, we could smell it, on his mouth, there was the dry but unmistakable smell of our Alice, her blood dripping from his mouth.

Pain like never before spread to the deepest corners of our bond, it was too much for either of us to handle, we failed her, we failed our chipmunk. But if we couldn’t save her, we would avenge her, yes. That we would do.

We rushed at the vampire, our tendrils swirling wildly around us, looking like windblown ink as the newcomer ran away from us, trying to keep some distance between us. But we weren’t going to let him escape, so we hunched like a cat and jumped at him. The vampire tried to punch us when he was he couldn’t outrun us, but before he could our hand shot up, black claws clamping on his throat like a collar. “You took what we held dear!”

We gritted in anger as we held the vampire above the ground digging our claws into his neck, shattering his neck little by little like cheap marble.

“You and all your kind are a disease in every world, vampires are a mistake,” Our talons flexed, digging deeper on to his neck, as we held the vampire who was trashing to escape in the air, his feet flailing off the ground. He hung in that grip for only the briefest moment.

With a growl followed by a violent crash, we slammed the vampire into the brick wall. The impact destroyed the wall and made him hiss in pain, grabbing the vampire again we continued to growl. “Preying on the defenseless, destroying families, bringing nothing but misery!” No one had hurt us like they did, not Peter Parker, not Edgar, this pain was unbearable.

Pinned to the ground by our clawed hand that was crushing his neck, about to kill him, we still felt the pain, and no matter how much we hurt him, the fact we couldn’t smell our Alice anymore was too painful.

We screamed a wail fueled with agony as we jerked the hand that was holding the one responsible for our pain, bouncing his skull against every possible surface in the building, slamming it as that would make us feel better, “You took her from us!” We growled, jerking him again with more force, his eyes becoming more and more distant. “And now for that we deliver DEATH!” We screamed.

“Not even a million deaths will pay what you did,” We hissed.

Desperately the vampire opened his mouth to gasp. “Wh-what’re you—?” he choked.

Our claw flexed crushing his neck even more, “WE. ARE. VENOM.” We answered his question ripping his head from his body, not stopping there as we started to dismember him piece by piece make a puzzle no one would ever complete, but that wasn’t enough for us, we wanted more, we wanted to take more from him, so we burned him, we wanted to erase his entire being from the earth.

[Venom POV]

“We failed her,” Jack cried.

“We did,” There was nothing I could do to make my host feel better, like him I felt miserable. It was heartbreaking how we caught her smell before it faded right under our noses, it broke a part of us that will never be whole again.

“I don’t know what to do… I lost my mother, I lost my sister, I just don’t have the will to live anymore,” Jack said, “But I won’t kill myself, that would accomplish nothing, what I will do is kill every vampire I come across, destroying them like the disease they are….”

Yes, they were the ones responsible for our pain, they took her from us, they stole our happiness away for a meal, and now we would steal their cancerous lives in exchange.

“Humans are also responsible for our pain, bad humans are the root of all evil,” I hissed. While it was true vampires took her from us, a human was the one that started all of this, no matter what world, what universe, humans were disgusting saving for a few lucky individuals that didn’t follow the same suit their entire species did.

“Yes,” Jack nodded.

“We should bury her… we haven’t even seen her,” We have been crying outside the door, where our Alice was before dying, for hours we just couldn’t do anything.

“Yes,” Jack said, pushing the door open, just to find an empty room, with no sign of Alice.

“Where is she!” Becoming one once again we hissed in anger, the room was empty with no sign of her, with the lingering smell of her slowly fading in the room. But beside there was a faint smell, something new, a new different smell that somehow felt familiar. Something we had failed to notice before.

We trashed the room, inspecting every little corner trying to find something that wasn’t there, but even in our fruitless attempt we had hope.

“Someone took her from the room,” We hissed breaking one of the walls with an angry punch.

[Alice POV]

I woke up in the middle of an unknown room, not remembering anything but my name, outside I could hear something fighting, a quick peek outside showed a man and a monster locked together in a fight the man was not going to win.

For a second I hesitated on what to do, should I help the man? Should I run? But as I weighed my options I was struck down with a vision of a man with golden hair holding my hand kissing me as we walked down the beach, I could feel our connection, I could also see where I met said man, he loved me, and I loved him. But the vision didn’t end there, it switched to a house with other people, a family, one among them that was different, but loved me nonetheless, not as the man with golden hair it was more of a familiar love.

I knew for that vision to happen I had to run away, I had to escape this room and leave.
