Chapter 16: Storm's Above Mondstadt

I saw Lumine in the sky floating in the air, she was somehow managing to stay in the air. 'It must be Venti's doing' I thought I could just leave it to her, she did manage to drive Stormterror away in-game but I did not want to take any chances. I took out the Zero-One driver and Flying Falcon Progrisekey. I then equipped the Zero-One driver and pressed the Progrisekey

[Wing!]

[Authorise]

The grasshopper and falcon Rider Models appeared moving around me. I inserted the Progrisekey to henshin

"Henshin!"

[Progrise!]

The grasshopper and falcon formed the Flying Falcon form of my armor

[Fly to the sky! Flying Falcon!] 

[Spread your wings and prepare for a force]

"Amber, I'll back up Lumine and you help evacuate the civilians."

"Okay, please be careful," Amber said with a worried look on her face

"I will," I flew up to the sky heading to where Lumine was battling Stromterror

The skies above Mondstadt

I flew to Lumine and saw her shooting anemo energy at Stormterror 

"Lumine, are you okay!"

"Jun… is that you?

"Yeah, this is your first time seeing my armor, well in this form I can fly so let me back you up. I'll get close and distract it while you shoot at the giant crystal behind his neck that seems to be its weak point."

"Okay,"

With our strategy planned, I flew toward Stormterror and punched its face to get its attention

"Hey big guy over here, what… can't catch a little bird," I said taunting it

*Roar*

I seemed to get its attention. I flew away and Stormterror began chasing me. We had a dog fight in the air and I was nearly hit with its breath but luckily Lumine managed to shoot at it changing the trajectory. How I wished I had a ranged weapon right now I should pull in the gacha soon. Stormterror turned to Lumine to shoot her down but I rushed in and punched it again multiple times bringing his attention back to me. This exchange went on for a little more while and Stormterror realized it was slowly getting disadvantaged and decided to fly away leaving Mondstadt. Seeing him flying away, me and Lumine managed to catch our breaths. Lumine glided down towards the plaza of the statue of Barbatos and I soon followed. Amber saw and ran to us. Once she arrived she began to check our bodies for any injuries

"Are you two okay, are there any injuries?"

"We are fine Amber, just a little tired."

"Thank goodness…"

*clap**clap**clap*

We heard someone clapping and we turned to who it was, we saw Kaeya

"Good work you two, I'm not surprised you managed to fend off Stormterror Jun. Hearing your feats and being able to freely fly, but you…"

Kaeya turned to Lumine and said, "You also have the power to go against the dragon and I have never seen you before, are you an ally or a new storm?"

"Kaeya you're here perfect we need to go and report to…"

"Hold on Amber, you might want to introduce your new friends here. We can't just let anybody meet the Acting Grandmaster."

"Oh, right this is Lumine and Paimon travelers from afar. Jun brought them here not long ago."

"Lumine, Paimon, this is Kaeya, our Cavalry Captain. Long story short."

Amber told Kaeya about Lumine and Paimon. How she met them and what were their objectives in Mondstadt

"I see. Welcome to Mondstadt, though you have not arrived at the best of times, I'm afraid. I understand the anguish of being separated from family. I'm not really sure why you're looking for the Anemo God, but everyone has their secrets, right? Don't worry I won't press you for more. First and foremost, on behalf of the Knights of Favonius. I would like to thank you for your two's help just now." Kaeya bowed his head expressing his thanks

"Well, I couldn't let the situation fester any longer and I was sort of dragged into it," Lumine said

"No need to bow your head Kaeya. I could not just ignore those who are in danger. So it was natural that I helped."

"Humble as always Jun, but your fight against the dragon was witnessed by no so small number of citizens. The Acting Grandmaster would like to request your help Jun and she is also interested in meeting you as well Lumine. She would like to formally invite you both to our headquarters.

"I don't mind, are you going Lumine?"

"I don't mind as well, besides getting a favor from the Acting Grandmaster can help find my brother."

"Perfect, follow me, I'll lead the way," Kaeya said leaving off towards the headquarters. We all followed him and Amber walked beside me

"I was really worried, you know. Even though I know you are strong I just could not help but be worried."

I heard Amber and I could not help but feel a little guilty. I ran into danger without thinking about myself and I guess Amber noticed this. I guess we have been living together for a while now

"I'm sorry Amber for making you worry about me."

"No, don't mind it, it's who you are Jun. You put others before yourself."

"No, you're mistaken I was not like this before."

Yes, even though I would like to help others I'm not the type to head in first to danger like that. I think… it all started when in my first battle. I remember feeling scared when I first encountered the hilichurls, but when I looked at the Zero-one driver at that time I felt the power to face them. Maybe it's because I'm now a Kamen Rider I felt a sense of duty, I idolized Kamen Riders. It's not only cool forms and the amazing display of power they had, but it was also their struggle. They head first into danger and when they get knocked down they always get back up under the pressure of evil. They were my heroes, and now I have become one of them I want to live up to their name and be a true Kamen Rider not just because I'm wearing the armor

"You know Amber, my armor has a legacy behind it."

"A legacy?"

"Yes, the legacy of Kamen Riders. They are heroes who fought in suits of armor defeating evil and protecting the weak. I idolized them and they were my heroes. I don't know how I got the belt but I know they belong to the Kamen Riders and I want to live up to their names." I said brimming with resolve

"So… I might get into more danger in the future."

"I see…" Amber reluctantly accepted what I had said

I reached out to her hand and held it gently

"Eh!" Amber was surprised and her face turned red

"But I promise you Amber I would also look after myself and never make you worry."

"Um…"

We both smiled lovingly with one another as we walked holding each other's hand not noticing the smug looks of Kaeya, Lumine, and Paimon
