A Rider Kick in Marvel ch 56
Added 2024-06-12 22:32:33 +0000 UTCInside Fury’s safehouse, a dimly lit room filled with the hushed voices of the resistance members, a plan was being hatched against Hydra.
“What should we do now? We were supposed to be stealing a Helicarrier, right?” Ace's voice was tinged with a hint of frustration, his brows furrowed in concern.
“Yes, but there are still some things we must do before that.” replied Fury.
Nick Fury thrusts a handful of documents into the air, and the team looks them over, their eyes scanning the information.
“The Helicarriers are not complete yet. It still needs a few components on its system before it can launch. We need to retrieve them before Hydra can complete the Helicarrier.” explained Fury.
“Won’t they be alarmed and come after us then? The world still doesn’t know they exist.” said Ace.
“Agreed, but we need to delay those Helicarriers first, or else we will have serious consequences,” Fury replied.
“Where do we get these components, sir?” asked Natasha.
“They are in a SHIELD base in this location. It is heavily guarded, and breaking in won’t be so simple.”
“Can’t you just waltz in and grab it? You guys are still SHIELD agents.” asked Ace.
“We can’t; it will expose us and could possibly alert Hydra.”
“So, what is your plan?”
“We make them think a 3rd party is behind it.”
Ace seems to get Fury’s hint. “You want to use the identity of Metsuboujinrai.net to infiltrate the SHIELD base.”
“Yes, that’s right. Metsuboujinrai is a new group that SHIELD doesn’t know much about, and Hydra should also be clueless. This should keep them occupied while the rest will be on separate missions to uncover evidence and members of Hydra.”
“I don’t mind. Let me contact my friends so they can participate in this discussion,” said Ace.
Fury nods and proceeds to the next topic. “Another problem we are facing is the lack of manpower. Everyone in this room is someone I could trust to keep a secret and is not a part of Hydra.”
Fury looks at Ace momentarily. “Well, trustworthy enough.”
Ace only snorts silently, knowing what Fury meant.
“But we will still need more hands when we expose Hydra. It will be difficult to know who and who isn’t a Hydra agent when that time comes.”
“I could recruit some people I trust, sir. I have been working with them for years.” said Coulson.
“No, Coulson. I don’t trust anybody, and it is not guaranteed they are truly not Hydra agents. They could be a sleeper agent for all we know.” replied Fury.
Fury is highly cautious and doesn’t trust anyone outside of the room. His wariness is entirely justified. The truth is that many SHIELD agents are covertly working for Hydra. Thanks to Fury's shrewdness and discernment, he ensured that no one inside the room was a Hydra agent.
“Then we are in trouble. We can’t really do much with our numbers.” said Hill.
“Hmm… I think I can help.” said Ace.
“How?” asked Fury.
Ace proceeded to provide a detailed explanation about Humagears, highlighting their capabilities and how they could be created for Fury to utilize. The group was captivated by the newfound knowledge about Humagears and their potential impact.
“So you’re saying you have these robots who can think on their own and could solve our problems?” said Fury.
“Well, that is an oversimplification, but yes, more or less.”
“Here, I thought you having your own AI is amazing.” said Fury, sighing. He could already envision the danger it presents—an army of Humagears with the capacity for greater thought than a human, unleashed in a frenzy. The very thought sends shivers down his spine.
“They are not an army, Fury. Humagears are created to help humanity. They can be doctors, teachers, secretaries, and many more. They are not fighting machines.”
“I see.” However, Fury could not help but think of the worst-case scenario. He can’t deny that having Humagears will solve their lack of manpower and that they are far more trustworthy than recruiting someone who has a chance to be a Hydra agent.
“I’m saying this now. I’m not giving you Humagears for free, you know. Each one is expensive.” said Ace.
Fury grumbles a bit. He doesn’t have SHIELD funds and could only use his personal assets. “You know we don’t have much money. We can’t use SHIELD funds for the operations.”
“I know. Consider it a loan. I'm lending you some worker-type Humagears. If you're impressed with them, I’m sure you'll order more.”
During their meeting, they continued to discuss their strategies for Hydra in detail. They decided to reconvene the following week to explore their plans more thoroughly.
…
In the bustling mall arcade in Beverly Hills, a vibrant young teenager, she immersed herself in the world of video games. With determined focus, she skillfully progressed through each stage, reveling in the excitement of the gameplay. The teenager sported a striking yellow coat that contrasted beautifully with her standout magenta sunglasses, creating a bold and memorable impression. Despite the lively atmosphere of the arcade, she seemed content in her solitary enjoyment of the games.

“Yes! New high score!” She happily reached a new record. She was about to play another round when a mall guard stopped her.
“Hey, kid! It's closing time. Go home before I kick you out.”
“Ah man, can I play one more game.” said the young girl.
“Sorry, kid. Rules are rules.”
The young lady left with a heavy heart, feeling disheartened and forlorn. It was well past midnight, and the flickering glow of the lamp posts dimly lighted the eerily quiet streets. She arrived home, which still felt unfamiliar to her.
“Man, wish I could have stayed a bit longer.”
She stepped inside, and she saw her parents waiting for her. They looked angry, and she knew she was in trouble.
“Where have you been? Do you know what time it is? You could get hurt,” the mother said, scolding her daughter.
“I was only at the mall.” said the young lady, a bit rebellious.
“Your mother is only worried about you. You always come home late every night, which only worries us. Maybe I should set a curfew for you.” said the father.
“Hey! I’m not a child! I don’t need any curfew.” She got so mad light started coming out of her hands, which made the people present confused.
“What is happening!?” the young lady said.
She extended her hands outward and unleashed a powerful beam that struck the TV, instantly rendering it inoperable. The TV sizzled and smoked.
She looked at her hands and felt confused and scared.
The mother’s voice trembled, and she held on to her husband. “What was that?”
“I-I don’t know. I-I’ll be in my room.” She dashed to her room and hastily shut the door, turning the lock with a trembling hand. Collapsing to the floor, she gazed in awe at her hands, which were emitting a dazzling, radiant glow reminiscent of fireworks. Frantically, she shook her hands, desperate to halt the inexplicable phenomenon. When the luminous display finally subsided, she wrapped her arms around herself, bewildered and striving to comprehend the extraordinary occurrence.
“What is happening to me.”
…
In the X-mansion, Charles Xavier is using Cerebro. He scanned the globe using his telepathic powers. He could hear the voices of millions of people, and he stopped to see the previous young lady slumped in her room and crying. He has found another mutant who has just awakened her powers. He turns off Cerebro and calls his X-men.
“X-men, I have found another mutant.”
Comments
One would have thought that SHIELD would have had a prototype for the Life-Model Decoys but then I remember it was only in the comics where that ever happened. Also, thank you for the chapter 🙏
