Ultraman A New Light Ch 13
Added 2024-07-01 23:11:48 +0000 UTCIn the aftermath of the Pedoleon attack, Onogoro Island is in the process of rebuilding and recovery. The widespread devastation caused by the epic battle between Ultraman and Pedoleon Guros has left numerous buildings in ruins and resulted in the loss of hundreds of lives. Many individuals are still unaccounted for, adding to the tragedy of the event. As the damaged areas are being reconstructed, the island's residents have found refuge in relief camps as a precaution against potential threats.
The community was deeply affected by the devastation of losing their homes and loved ones, but their spirit remained unbroken. There was a sense of excitement as people discussed the epic battle between Ultraman and the monstrous adversary they had witnessed. The children were fully immersed in the excitement, engaging in play and reenacting the thrilling showdown.
“Stop right there, you monster! I, Ultraman, have arrived! I will stop you!”
“What!? Ultraman!”
A kid wearing a plastic mask and a cape is playing with another kid. They are acting out, and the other kids watching are also acting out as spectators.
“Go! Ultraman! Defeat the monster!”
“Hahaha! Leave it to me!”
Haru was happily watching from the sidelines as the heartwarming scene unfolded. Curious about how everyone was doing after the events, he was pleasantly surprised to see that everything seemed to be just fine. He had expected to see sadness and distress after the attack, but instead, he found the community smiling and coming together to rebuild their home.
“It’s great everyone is smiling. I should see Kira and Lacus. I hope they were alright.”
Haru went to the orphanage to check if everyone was safe. When he arrived, he saw the children running around playing on the beach without a care in the world. He saw Kira and Lacus on the side, watching the children. They noticed Haru coming and waved at him.
“Haru! You’re back.” said Kira.
“We were quite worried when you just ran off yesterday.”
“Ahahaha… sorry. I was just worried about everyone and the crew back in the Minerva.”
“That doesn’t mean you can recklessly play with your life like that.” Lacus reprimanding Haru.
“Yes… Lacus-san…”
“Good.”
“Were there any problems after I left yesterday?”
“No, there were no particular problems. We went to Lacus's private villa and hid inside the underground bunker,” Kira replied.
Haru turns to Lacus. “You have an underground bunker?”
“Yes, it is for safety reasons.”
“I won’t ask further about that…”
“We also watched the battle between the monster and Ultraman.”
“Because of that, the children came to love Ultraman.” interjected Lacus.
Haru could see the children reenacting Ultraman on the beach. “I can see that.” Haru is pleased to see the children happy.
“Why don’t you come with us? We want to thank you for helping the children.” Kira offered.
Haru wanted to refuse, but that would be too disrespectful. “Then, I’ll gladly accept it.”
Haru is on his way to visit Lacus at his enchanting villa, which is nestled on a picturesque cliffside. The architectural style of the house is reminiscent of centuries-old French residences. As Haru arrives, Lacus extends a warm and gracious welcome. “Come on in, Haru. We have some coffee if you would like.”
“Ah, thank you, Lacus.”
Haru sits down in the living room. Lacus serves him some coffee, and when he tastes it, it is rich, sweet, and pleasant to the nose. “This tastes amazing.”
“Huhu, our friend, collects coffee beans as a hobby. I used some from his stash.”
Haru gets worried. “Won’t he get mad?”
“I’m sure he won’t mind.” Lacus smiles without worry.
“Then, I’ll drink without reserve.” Haru, Kira, and Lacus chatted for a long time and got to know each other. Haru had initially thought Lacus would be a typical "Oujo-sama" type of girl, but he was pleasantly surprised to find out that she is a kind and compassionate person. She talked about her ideals of wanting Naturals and Coordinators to live in peace with each other, and Haru supported her.
“The peace that we have now was all thanks to you fighting, Lacus-san. I did hear you also participated in the battle of Jachin Due.”
“Yes, that battle was tough. Many people sacrificed themselves to end the war.”
Kira held her hand to comfort her, which she appreciated. “I just hope there would be no more wars.”
“By the way, how did you two meet? If you don’t mind me asking.”
“I met Lacus when I was traveling to Earth. It was a short meeting, but I guess we just became good friends right away.”
“Huh~ how romantic.” Haru fantasizes about how they met. A normal person meeting a princess is how he would imagine it.
Kira could see Haru misunderstanding their meeting, and he got embarrassed. “It wasn’t anything like you're thinking of, Haru.”
“I think it was a nice memory when we first met, Kira. You were quite innocent and naive back then. It was cute.” Lacus smiles cheerfully at him.
Kira’s face turns red. “Lacus…”
“Oh, are we interrupting something?”
Two people came into the living room. One was a man who looked to be in his 30s holding a cane, and the other was a woman with beautiful brown hair and brown eyes, the same woman who met with Captain Talia.
“No, you were not interrupting anything!”
“Lacus, is this the one who helped the children?”
“Yes, Reverend Malchio.”
Reverend Malchio walks up to Haru with the help of Lacus. Haru can see that the man is blind. “I want to thank you for helping the children. They mean a lot to me.”
“No-No, you don’t need to thank me. I was just doing what was right.”
Reverend Malchio smiles kindly. “Such a compassionate and caring young man; saving a life is truly a commendable and selfless act."
Haru gets shy. “Hahaha… thank you.”
“You’re part of the Minerva crew, right? I’m Maria Bernes. I’m in charge of fixing the Minerva.”
“Ah, hello. Thank you for your hard work.”
“Just doing my job. The ship’s repairs should be done in a few days.”
“That is good to know. I should be heading back now. Everyone is still on alert since the Kaiju attack.”
Haru said goodbye to everyone and headed back to the Minerva.
…
Cagali and Captain Talia are in the Captain’s private living quarters. Cagali wants to thank the Minerva for their support in fighting the Kaiju.
“I would like to thank you for your assistance in the recent attack, Captain.”
“That monster is an enemy of mankind, Representative. We can’t just stand by and let Orb be destroyed.”
“Then, what will the Minerva be doing next?”
“We will be going to Carpentaria next. We will be regrouping with our forces and will be waiting for further commands there.”
“I see. If you need anything more, just contact me. Orb won’t forget our debt for your assistance.”
Captain Talia awkwardly smiles. “It was Ultraman who defeated the monster, and we just helped a little, but I’ll accept your gratitude. I know many government officials have also been lost in the attack. Will Orb be okay?”
“Yes, many officials have died, and I have seen it with my eyes.” Cagali clenches her hand and is still frustrated she could not have saved. “The government is a bit unstable at the moment, but we are steadily going back to normal and finding reliable people for the missing positions.”
“That is good to hear. I also heard Ultraman saved you.”
“Yes, he was human size when I met him, and when the monsters started gathering, he also grew into a giant.”
“Do you know where he came from?”
“I’m sorry, he just appeared and started saving people. I’m thankful he did. The amount of casualties would have been greater otherwise.”
“I see. That is a shame.”
They chatted for a few more minutes, but Cagali had to leave to attend to duties. In the hallway, she met Shinn, Luna, and Rey. The three of them noticed her, and Shinn had a scowl expression.
“You three, I want to thank you for helping Orb.” Cagali expresses her gratitude.
“We were just following orders.” replied Shinn, still frowning at her.
“But that doesn’t change that fact you helped, thank you.”
The three of them walked past her, but Cagali still had something to say. “Wait!”
They stopped, but Shinn did not look behind. “Shinn, was it? I’m sorry for the loss of your family. I know my apologies are meaningless to you, and it may be true it is because of Orb you lost your family. But I still believe in the country’s ideals. I know we made mistakes, but I still want to uphold them and keep the people of Orb safe. That is all.”
Cagali walks away, and Luna and Rey look at Shinn with concern, knowing his strong feelings towards Orb. However, to their surprise, he seemed calm and collected as he told them, "Let's go."
…
In Djibril's private villa, the news is being broadcast across the many screens of his bunker, showing the events unfolding in Orb. Other members of his group are also present, and they share his concerns. Many are deeply troubled by the sight of monsters wreaking havoc and attacking the nation of Orb. These individuals are influential members of society who are understandably worried about the potential threat of such monsters appearing in their own countries. It is evident that standard military equipment, including mobile suits, is insufficient to combat these formidable adversaries. It's clear that urgent and effective countermeasures need to be devised.
“What should we do, Lord Djibril? A monster has appeared not just in the PLANTs but also on Earth,” one of the politicians asked.
“We don’t have any plans to deal with these monsters.”
“Yes, you’ve seen that monster's strength. Even the likes of Ultraman were having difficulty.”
“Everyone, relax. The situation might be concerning, but we must not fear these monsters. It is now that we must not back down. These monsters are invading our beautiful planet. We must eradicate them!” said Djibril, full of confidence and with a demeanor that attracted everyone watching.
“I suppose you’re right, but how should we respond when one of these monsters appears?”
“For now, we must know where they come from and how do they appear. We must unite our resources to create a powerful force to combat these monsters. I shall also send Phantom Pain to take care of these monsters.”
“I guess that is all we can do for now. Then, how about Ultraman? How should we deal with him?”
“Naturally, we must also eliminate him. Anything that are not Naturals must be eliminated, whether they are monsters, aliens, or Coordinators. But his strength is needed for now. He seems to be fighting these monsters. We shall use that to our advantage.”
“Then that is decided. For the preservation of our blue and pure world.”
All of the other people responded. “For the preservation of our blue and pure world.”
