Ultraman A New Light ch 17

As Antlar continued its rampage through the PLANT colony, the destruction escalated to unprecedented levels. The Kaiju's massive form crashed through skyscrapers, its pincers tearing through steel and concrete as if they were paper. The ground shook with each thunderous step, and the air filled with the sound of shattering glass and crumbling infrastructure.

ZAFT's mobile suit forces, despite their valiant efforts, found themselves outmatched by the monstrous creature. GINNs and ZAKU Warriors alike fell before Antlar's might, their weapons proving ineffective against its formidable exoskeleton. The magnetic beam emanating from the Kaiju's pincers wreaked havoc on the electronic systems of the mobile suits, leaving them vulnerable to Antlar's crushing attacks.

From the safety of the military complex's command center, Chairman Gilbert Durandal and Athrun Zala watched the unfolding catastrophe with growing concern. The large monitors displayed real-time footage of Antlar's destructive path, each image more dire than the last.

Durandal's usual calm demeanor was strained as he turned to Athrun. "This situation is beyond our standard protocols," he said, his voice grave. "We need a decisive action to turn the tide."

Athrun's eyes were fixed on the screens, his fists clenched at his sides. He could see the futility of the current defensive efforts, the loss of life and property escalating with each passing moment.

Durandal placed a hand on Athrun's shoulder. "Athrun, I believe you're our best hope. The Saviour Gundam is ready. Will you pilot it and stop this monster?"

Without hesitation, Athrun nodded. "Yes, sir. I'll do whatever it takes to protect the colony."

With that, Athrun sprinted towards the pilot's locker room. He quickly donned his flight suit, the familiar routine bringing a sense of focus amidst the chaos. As he sealed his helmet, Athrun took a deep breath, steeling himself for the battle ahead.

In the hangar, technicians swarmed around the ZGMF-X23S Saviour Gundam, making final preparations for launch. Athrun climbed into the cockpit, the systems coming to life around him as he settled into the pilot's seat.

"This is Athrun Zala, ZGMF-X23S Saviour, ready for launch," he announced over the comm channel.

The launch controller's voice crackled through the speakers. "Roger that, Saviour. Initiating launch sequence."

The hangar doors slid open, revealing the launch catapult. Athrun felt the familiar surge of adrenaline as the Saviour was moved into position.

"Saviour, you are cleared for launch. Good luck out there."

Athrun's hands tightened on the controls. "Athrun Zala, Saviour, launching!"

The catapult engaged, and the Saviour shot forward with tremendous force. G-forces pressed Athrun back into his seat as the Gundam accelerated rapidly. In seconds, they cleared the hangar and emerged into the chaos of the colony's interior.

Athrun's eyes quickly scanned the battlefield, assessing the situation. He could see Antlar in the distance, its massive form towering over the devastated cityscape.

"This is Saviour to all ZAFT forces," Athrun broadcast. "I'm moving to engage the target. Provide support and focus on civilian evacuation."

With that, Athrun pushed the Saviour's thrusters to maximum, the Gundam streaking through the air towards the rampaging Kaiju. As he approached, Athrun could fully appreciate the scale of the destruction – and the monumental task that lay ahead.

As Athrun approached Antlar in the Saviour Gundam, the full scale of the destruction became apparent. Buildings smoldered, their twisted metal frames reaching skyward like skeletal fingers. The acrid smell of smoke filled the air, mixing with the dust and debris that swirled in chaotic eddies. Screams of terror echoed through the colony, punctuated by the thunderous roars of Antlar and the staccato bursts of weapons fire from the remaining ZAFT mobile suits.

Athrun's hands moved swiftly over the controls, activating the Saviour's Variable Phase Shift armor. The Gundam's surface shimmered, shifting to a vibrant red hue. "Let's see how you handle this," Athrun muttered, engaging the M106 "Amfortas" plasma beam cannons mounted on the Saviour's backpack.

Twin beams of searing energy lanced out, striking Antlar's carapace. The Kaiju bellowed in rage, more annoyed than hurt by the attack. It swung its massive pincers, trying to swat the Saviour from the sky.

Athrun's reflexes, honed by years of combat experience, allowed him to deftly maneuver the Gundam out of harm's way. He switched tactics, deploying the MA-7B "Super Fortis" beam cannons. These weapons, mounted above the "Amfortas" cannons, offered a rapid-fire capability that Athrun hoped would penetrate Antlar's tough hide.

A barrage of energy bolts peppered Antlar's form, eliciting another roar of fury from the beast. The Kaiju's eyes glowed with malevolence as it focused its attention on the red Gundam harassing it.

Antlar's pincers began to glow, and suddenly a powerful magnetic beam shot forth. Athrun's eyes widened as he saw the beam approaching. He quickly transformed the Saviour into its mobile armor mode, the Gundam shifting into a fighter-like configuration. With increased speed and maneuverability, Athrun narrowly avoided the magnetic attack.

"That was too close," Athrun breathed, his heart pounding. He could see the devastating effect of the magnetic beam on the surrounding area, pulling in debris and smaller mobile suits alike.

Transforming back into mobile suit mode, Athrun drew the Saviour's MA-M941 "Vajra" beam saber from its shoulder storage. The pink energy blade hummed to life as Athrun charged forward, aiming for one of Antlar's legs.

The beam saber struck home, slicing into the Kaiju's limb. Antlar shrieked in pain, its massive body thrashing in response. The movement sent shockwaves through the colony, toppling already damaged structures and sending civilians scrambling for cover.

Enraged by the pain, Antlar became more aggressive. It lashed out with its pincers, trying to crush the Saviour in its grip. Athrun's piloting skills were put to the test as he weaved and dodged, the Gundam's movements a blur of red against the backdrop of destruction.

Athrun gritted his teeth, sweat beading on his brow as he pushed the Saviour to its limits. He activated the MMI-GAU2 "Picus" 76mm machine guns mounted in the Saviour's head, unleashing a hail of bullets at Antlar's face. While the attack did little damage, it served to distract the Kaiju momentarily.

Taking advantage of the distraction, Athrun switched to the Saviour's primary ranged weapon - the MA-BAR70 high-energy beam rifle. He took careful aim at one of Antlar's eyes, hoping to find a weak point in the creature's formidable defenses.

The beam lanced out, striking true. Antlar reeled back, roaring in agony as one of its eyes was seared by the energy blast. The Kaiju's movements became more erratic, its attacks wilder and less coordinated.

But even wounded, Antlar was far from defeated. It began to burrow into the ground, its massive form disappearing beneath the colony's surface with surprising speed. The earth trembled, buildings collapsing as the Kaiju moved beneath them.

Athrun hovered above in the Saviour, scanning for any sign of where Antlar might emerge. The sounds of battle seemed to fade for a moment, replaced by an eerie silence broken only by the distant cries of the injured and the crackle of flames.

Suddenly, the ground erupted beneath the Saviour. Antlar burst forth, its pincers snapping at the Gundam. Athrun barely had time to react, engaging the thrusters to full power to avoid being caught in the Kaiju's grasp.

As Athrun narrowly evaded Antlar's pincers, his heart pounding in his chest, he felt a moment of relief. But that relief was short-lived. Suddenly, an invisible force gripped the Saviour Gundam, pulling it inexorably towards Antlar's waiting pincers. Athrun's eyes widened in shock as he realized what was happening.

"No!" he shouted, engaging the Saviour's thrusters to full power. The engines roared, straining against the Kaiju's magnetic attraction. But it wasn't enough. The Gundam slowed, but continued its inexorable journey towards Antlar's grasp.

Sweat beaded on Athrun's brow as he frantically worked the controls, trying every maneuver he could think of to break free. But nothing seemed to work. The Saviour's systems blared warnings as the strain on the mobile suit intensified.

In the command center, Chairman Durandal watched the scene unfold with growing horror. He clenched his fists, feeling helpless as he watched one of ZAFT's best pilots being pulled to what seemed like certain doom.

Athrun's mind raced. He had faced death before, but never like this. As the Saviour drew closer to Antlar's pincers, he closed his eyes, bracing for impact. "I'm sorry, Cagalli," he whispered, thinking of the ring he had given her, of the future they might have had.

But the impact never came. Instead, Athrun felt a sudden jolt, and his eyes snapped open. A brilliant ball of light had engulfed the Saviour, yanking it out of Antlar's magnetic pull. Before he could process what was happening, Athrun found himself being carried away from the battle, landing safely some distance away.

As the light faded, Athrun's eyes widened in disbelief. Standing before him, towering over even the Saviour Gundam, was a figure he had only seen in news reports and secondhand accounts. The silver and blue giant, with its glowing eyes and powerful stance, was unmistakable.

"Ultraman," Athrun breathed, his voice barely above a whisper.

...

Twenty minutes earlier, aboard the Minerva, Haru lounged in the recreation room with Shinn, Rey, and Luna. The four friends chatted idly, their conversation a welcome respite from the tensions of recent events. Shinn leaned back in his chair, a rare smile on his face as he recounted a story from their training days.

Luna laughed, her eyes twinkling with mirth. "I can't believe you actually did that, Shinn!"

Rey, typically stoic, allowed a small smirk to cross his features. "It was certainly... unexpected."

Haru chuckled, enjoying the camaraderie. For a moment, the weight of his secret identity and the looming threats seemed to lift from his shoulders.

Suddenly, the door slid open with a hiss. Meyrin burst into the room, her face pale and her eyes wide with alarm. The laughter died instantly as all eyes turned to her.

"What's wrong, Meyrin?" Luna asked, concern etching her features.

Meyrin took a deep breath, her voice trembling slightly as she spoke. "We just received an emergency broadcast. The PLANT... it's under attack by a Kaiju!"

A heavy silence fell over the room. Shinn's fists clenched, his earlier mirth replaced by a familiar anger. Rey's eyes narrowed, his mind already calculating potential strategies. Luna gasped, her hand flying to her mouth in shock.

Haru felt his heart race, a cold sweat breaking out on his forehead. He knew what he had to do, but he couldn't reveal his secret to his friends.

"That's... that's impossible," Shinn muttered, breaking the silence. "How could a Kaiju reach the PLANT?"

"I don't know," Meyrin replied, shaking her head. "But the reports are coming in from multiple sources. It's real."

Haru stood up abruptly, his chair scraping against the floor. "I... I need to go," he stammered, avoiding eye contact with his friends.

"Haru?" Luna called after him, concern evident in her voice.

But Haru was already moving, his feet carrying him swiftly out of the room. He heard Shinn call out behind him, but he didn't stop. He couldn't stop.

Haru raced through the corridors of the Minerva, his heart pounding in his chest. Crew members looked at him in surprise as he dashed past, but he paid them no heed. His mind was focused on one thing: reaching the deck.

As he ran, Haru's hand instinctively went to his wrist, where the UltraRiser sat disguised as a simple watch. He could feel its power pulsing, resonating with his own urgent need to act.

Finally, Haru burst onto the deck of the Minerva. The cool night air hit his face, a stark contrast to the warmth of the ship's interior. He glanced around quickly, ensuring he was alone.

Taking a deep breath, Haru raised his wrist, tapping the screen of the UltraRiser. In an instant, he found himself transported to an empty space, a realm between realities where time seemed to slow.

Haru's voice rang out in the void, clear and determined. "Shine! The galaxy's light!"

He swiped the Ultra Card across the UltraRiser, which announced in a mechanical voice

[ULTRASCAN, ULTRAMAN GINGA]

Haru then pulled down the bottom of the UltraRiser, initiating the transformation. The device's voice echoed once more

[ULTRAMATCH: ULTRAMAN GINGA]

A brilliant light engulfed Haru, his body stretching and growing. Silver and Red armor materialized around him, forming the iconic suit of Ultraman Ginga. The transformation complete, Ginga stood tall, his eyes glowing with determination.

Without hesitation, Ginga leapt into the air, his body surrounded by a sphere of energy as he rocketed towards the PLANT. As he flew, he could see the distant flashes of explosions and the unmistakable silhouette of a massive Kaiju. Ginga's eyes narrowed, his resolve strengthening.

The PLANT grew larger in his vision as he approached, the scale of the destruction becoming clearer. Ginga clenched his fists, preparing for the battle ahead. He knew that countless lives depended on him, and he was determined not to let them down.

As Ginga neared the PLANT, he could make out the form of a red mobile suit - the Saviour Gundam - locked in combat with the Kaiju. His arrival was timely, as he witnessed the Gundam being pulled towards the monster by an invisible force.

Without hesitation, Ginga extended his arms, his hands glowing with a brilliant blue energy. He grasped the Gundam firmly, the strength of his grip easily overcoming Antlar's magnetic force.

Athrun, inside the Saviour, felt a sudden shift as his mobile suit was freed from the Kaiju's grasp. His sensors registered an enormous energy signature, and through his viewscreen, he saw the iconic form of Ultraman Ginga holding his Gundam.

Ginga gently maneuvered the Saviour away from Antlar, setting it down on a nearby intact section of the PLANT's structure. The metal groaned under the weight of the mobile suit, but held firm. Athrun, still processing what had just happened, watched in awe as Ginga turned to face the monstrous Kaiju.

Antlar, momentarily stunned by the interruption of its attack, let out a deafening roar that echoed through the colony. The sound reverberated off the damaged structures, causing loose debris to fall and civilians to cover their ears in fear.

Ginga stood tall, his silvery form a stark contrast to the chaos around him. He raised his arms, assuming a battle stance that was both defensive and ready to strike. His eyes, glowing with an intense blue light, locked onto Antlar's massive form.

The two titans faced each other, the fate of the PLANT hanging in the balance between them. Antlar's mandibles clicked menacingly, its body tensed and ready to attack. Ginga remained perfectly still, his posture radiating confidence and determination.

In the command center, Chairman Durandal and the ZAFT officials watched the standoff with a mixture of fear and hope. The arrival of Ultraman Ginga had changed the dynamics of the battle, but the outcome was far from certain.

Back on the battlefield, civilians who had been fleeing now paused, their eyes drawn to the confrontation between the heroic Ultraman and the terrifying Kaiju. Among them, Mira Vance watched with a heavy heart, the weight of her actions in bringing the sphere to the colony pressing down on her conscience.

Athrun, having regained his composure, maneuvered the Saviour Gundam into a better position. He knew that even with Ginga's arrival, this battle was far from over. He readied his weapons, prepared to provide support if needed.

As Antlar roared once more, Ginga's Color Timer pulsed with a steady blue light, indicating his readiness for the fight ahead. The two giants stood poised on the precipice of battle, the fate of countless lives hanging in the balance.
