Ultraman A New Light ch 18

The colossal figures of Ultraman Ginga and Antlar faced each other amidst the wreckage of the PLANT colony. The air crackled with tension, debris floating in the artificial gravity field. Shattered glass glittered like deadly stars against the backdrop of twisted metal and crumbling concrete.

Ginga's eyes narrowed, his stance firm and ready. Antlar's mandibles clicked menacingly, its massive form casting an ominous shadow over the devastated landscape.

Without warning, Ginga sprinted forward, his silver form a blur of motion. The ground trembled beneath his feet, each step leaving small craters in the colony's floor.

"Let's end this quickly!" Haru's voice echoed within Ginga's mind as they closed the distance to Antlar.

Antlar reacted swiftly, its pincers snapping shut with devastating force. Ginga ducked under the attack, feeling the rush of air above his head. He countered with a powerful uppercut, his fist connecting with Antlar's exoskeleton with a resounding boom.

The Kaiju staggered back, its massive form crashing into a nearby building. The structure groaned and collapsed, sending a cloud of dust and debris billowing outward. Civilians who had been hiding in the shadows scattered, their screams barely audible over the cacophony of battle.

Ginga pressed his advantage, leaping high into the air. "Ginga Kick!" Haru shouted, as Ginga's foot glowed with energy. The kick connected with Antlar's head, sending shockwaves rippling through the air.

But Antlar was far from defeated. It swung its pincers, catching Ginga mid-air and slamming him into the ground. The impact shook the entire colony, causing already damaged structures to crumble further.

"Ugh, this thing's tough," Haru grunted, feeling the pain of the impact even within Ginga's form.

Antlar loomed over Ginga, its mandibles opening wide. A strange humming filled the air as the Kaiju's magnetic beam began to charge.

"Not this time!" Haru exclaimed. Ginga rolled to the side just as the beam fired, carving a deep trench in the colony floor where he had been lying.

Ginga sprang to his feet, his hands glowing with blue energy. "Ginga Slash!" A series of energy blades shot from his forehead crystal, slicing through the air towards Antlar.

The Kaiju roared in pain as the blades struck its armored hide, leaving glowing gashes. But its tough exoskeleton prevented serious damage.

Antlar retaliated, burrowing into the ground with surprising speed. The colony shook as the massive creature tunneled beneath their feet.

"Where did it go?" Haru wondered, scanning the area. Suddenly, the ground beneath Ginga erupted, Antlar bursting forth with its pincers wide open.

Ginga leapt back, narrowly avoiding being caught. But Antlar was relentless, advancing with surprising agility for its size. Its pincers snapped at Ginga repeatedly, forcing him on the defensive.

"We need to end this soon," Haru realized, noticing Ginga's Color Timer beginning to pulse faster.

Ginga ducked and weaved, avoiding Antlar's attacks while looking for an opening. The battle had taken them to the heart of the colony, where the artificial sky dome loomed overhead, cracked and damaged from the fighting.

Antlar's pincers finally found their mark, clamping down on Ginga's arms. The Kaiju lifted Ginga off his feet, squeezing with incredible force.

"No!" Haru cried out, feeling the pressure even through Ginga's Ultra Armor. Ginga struggled, but Antlar's grip was like steel.

The Color Timer on Ginga's chest began to flash red, a warning that time was running out. Antlar's mandibles clicked in what almost seemed like triumph, its grip tightening further.

Ginga's feet dangled above the ground, his arms pinned helplessly at his sides. Antlar's massive form loomed over him, its alien eyes gleaming with malevolence.

"Can't... give up," Haru grunted, his mind racing for a solution as Ginga's energy continued to drain away.

As Ginga's Color Timer flashed an ominous red, the battle seemed to be turning in Antlar's favor. The Kaiju's grip tightened, its mandibles clicking with what could only be described as malicious glee. But just as hope began to fade, a streak of red and white burst onto the scene.

The ZGMF-X23S Saviour Gundam, piloted by Athrun Zala, rocketed towards the grappling titans. Its thrusters flared brilliantly against the backdrop of destruction, leaving a trail of azure light in its wake.

"Hang on, Ultraman!" Athrun's voice crackled over the comm system, determination evident in every word.

The Saviour's MA-7B "Super Fortis" beam cannons swiveled into position, locking onto Antlar's massive form. With pinpoint accuracy, Athrun unleashed a barrage of high-energy beams. The shots struck Antlar's armored hide, causing the Kaiju to roar in pain and loosen its grip on Ginga.

Seizing the opportunity, Ginga wrenched himself free, stumbling back as Antlar turned its attention to this new threat. The Saviour transformed mid-flight, shifting from its sleek mobile armor mode to its imposing mobile suit form. It landed with a resounding thud, its red and white frame a stark contrast to the devastation around it.

"We need to work together," Athrun called out to Ginga, the Saviour's eyes flashing as if in agreement.

Ginga nodded, his Color Timer still pulsing red but his stance firm. Together, they faced the enraged Antlar, which now stood between them, its massive form blocking out the artificial light of the colony.

Antlar charged forward, its pincers snapping viciously. The Saviour dodged to the left, its movements fluid and precise. Simultaneously, it brought its MA-BAR70 high-energy beam rifle to bear, firing a series of rapid shots at Antlar's legs.

The Kaiju stumbled, momentarily thrown off balance. Ginga seized this chance, leaping high into the air. His fist glowed with cosmic energy as he descended, delivering a powerful punch to Antlar's head. The impact sent shockwaves through the colony, causing already damaged structures to crumble further.

Antlar reeled back, shaking its head to clear the daze. But Athrun and Ginga pressed their advantage. The Saviour's beam rifle transformed into a beam saber, its energy blade humming with power. Athrun charged forward, the saber leaving a trail of light as he slashed at Antlar's armored hide.

The Kaiju roared in pain and anger, its magnetic beam charging once more. The air crackled with energy as Antlar prepared to fire.

"Watch out!" Athrun called, recognizing the danger.

Ginga reacted instantly, stepping in front of the Saviour with his arms crossed. A shimmering barrier of energy formed just as Antlar's beam struck. The magnetic force was immense, threatening to overwhelm Ginga's defenses.

Athrun didn't waste a moment. The Saviour's "Amfortas" plasma beam cannons deployed from its backpack, locking onto Antlar. With a burst of destructive energy, the cannons fired, striking Antlar square in the chest.

The Kaiju's beam faltered, and Ginga's barrier held. As the energy dissipated, Ginga dropped his arms, his Color Timer flashing even more rapidly now.

"We need to end this quickly," Athrun said, noting Ginga's weakening state.

Ginga nodded, his hands beginning to glow with a brilliant blue light. Athrun understood without words, the Saviour taking up a position beside the Ultra warrior.

Antlar, enraged and wounded, charged at them with reckless abandon. Its pincers snapped wildly, its feet leaving craters in the colony floor with each thunderous step.

As one, Ginga and the Saviour unleashed their attacks. Ginga's Ginga Cross Shoot, a powerful rainbow-colored beam, erupted from his outstretched arms. Simultaneously, the Saviour fired all of its weapons – beam rifles, plasma cannons, and CIWS guns – in a devastating barrage.

The combined assault struck Antlar head-on. The Kaiju's roar of defiance was cut short as the energy engulfed it. For a moment, Antlar's form was visible within the maelstrom of power, its silhouette wavering and distorting.

Then, with a final, earth-shaking explosion, Antlar was no more. The light faded, revealing a scene of utter destruction. Where the Kaiju had stood, only a smoking crater remained.

Ginga stumbled, his Color Timer now a steady, alarming red.

"We did it," Athrun breathed, the adrenaline of battle still coursing through him.

The battle was over, but the devastation it had wrought on the PLANT colony was evident all around them. The once pristine structures lay in ruins, the artificial sky dome cracked and sparking. Yet, amidst the destruction, a glimmer of hope remained. Together, human and Ultra, they had faced an impossible threat and emerged victorious.

...

Haru felt a sudden jolt as the cancer seed from Antlar hurtled towards him. Before he could react, it disappeared into his color timer. The world around him faded, and he found himself in a vast, ethereal space—Ginga's mindscape.

In front of him floated a black orb, pulsing with dark energy. Haru approached it cautiously, his heart racing. As he drew near, the sphere began to crack, fissures of light spreading across its surface. With a final burst, it shattered, revealing a card within.

Haru reached out, his fingers closing around the Mon Card. He turned it over in his hands, studying the image of Antlar emblazoned on its surface. The card seemed to hum with power, a reminder of the fierce battle they had just endured.

Without hesitation, Haru slipped the card into the deck holder at his hip. He felt a sense of accomplishment, another piece of the puzzle secured. But there was no time to dwell on it.

The mindscape began to fade, reality seeping back in. Haru found himself once again as Ultraman Ginga, hovering above the devastated PLANT colony. The ZGMF-X23S Saviour Gundam stood before him, its pilot likely bewildered by the events that had unfolded.

Ginga turned his gaze to the Saviour, acknowledging the mobile suit's crucial role in the battle. He gave a solemn nod, a gesture of respect and gratitude for the assistance. Then, without further delay, Ginga took to the skies, his form becoming a streak of light as he departed from the scene.

...

Athrun Zala, still inside the cockpit of the ZGMF-X23S Saviour Gundam, watched in awe as Ultraman Ginga ascended into the sky, disappearing in a brilliant flash of light. The giant's departure left a lingering sense of wonder and confusion in its wake. Athrun's mind raced with questions about the mysterious being and its connection to the young man he had just seen.

As the light faded, Athrun's communication system crackled to life. Chairman Gilbert Durandal's calm voice filled the cockpit.

"Athrun, you've done well. The threat has been neutralized, thanks to your efforts and our unexpected ally. Please return to base immediately."

Athrun took a deep breath, his hands still gripping the controls tightly. "Understood, Chairman. I'm on my way back."

He maneuvered the Saviour through the debris-filled air of the damaged PLANT colony. As he flew, Athrun's thoughts drifted to the battle he had just witnessed and participated in. The sheer power of the Kaiju, Antlar, had been unlike anything he had ever faced before. And then there was Ultraman Ginga, a being of immense strength and light, who had turned the tide of the battle.

The Saviour's sensors picked up the extent of the damage to the colony. Buildings lay in ruins, infrastructure was shattered, and emergency services were scrambling to respond to the chaos. Athrun felt a pang of guilt, wondering if he could have done more to prevent the destruction.

As he approached the military complex, Athrun couldn't shake the image of the young man who had appeared after Ginga's departure. There was something familiar about him, but Athrun couldn't quite place it. He made a mental note to investigate further when the opportunity arose.

The Saviour touched down in the hangar, and Athrun powered down the systems. He removed his helmet, running a hand through his sweat-dampened hair. The events of the day weighed heavily on him.

As Athrun climbed out of the Saviour's cockpit, Chairman Gilbert Durandal approached, flanked by his guards. The chairman's face was a mask of calm authority, but his eyes betrayed a hint of concern as he took in Athrun's disheveled appearance.

Durandal noticed the look of guilt etched across Athrun's features. The young pilot's shoulders slumped slightly, the weight of recent events visibly pressing down on him. Recognizing the need for reassurance, Durandal stepped forward, dismissing his guards with a subtle gesture.

"Athrun," Durandal said, his voice warm and paternal. "You performed admirably out there. The situation was beyond anything we could have anticipated."

Athrun met the chairman's gaze, his green eyes clouded with doubt. "But the damage to the colony, sir. If I had been faster, or if I had-"

Durandal raised a hand, cutting off Athrun's self-recrimination. "No one could have predicted the appearance of such a creature, or the arrival of that... being of light. You acted swiftly and decisively, saving countless lives in the process."

The chairman's words seemed to lift some of the burden from Athrun's shoulders. He straightened slightly, though the furrow in his brow remained.

"Come," Durandal said, placing a gentle hand on Athrun's shoulder. "We have much to discuss. The appearance of these new threats changes everything, and we must adapt quickly."

As they turned to leave the hangar, Athrun cast one last glance at the Saviour Gundam. The mobile suit stood silent, its armor scarred from the battle but still gleaming under the harsh hangar lights. It served as a stark reminder of the challenges that lay ahead.

Durandal led Athrun through the corridors of the military complex, their footsteps echoing in the tense silence. The few staff members they encountered quickly stepped aside, their faces a mix of awe and concern as they regarded the duo.
