A Rider Kick in Marvel ch 145

Gwen Stacy crouched on the rooftop, her eyes scanning the research facility below. Next to her, Peter Parker kept a vigilant watch, his web-shooters at the ready.

"Anything yet?" Gwen asked, her voice tinged with anticipation.

Peter shook his head, his gaze never leaving the building. "Nothing so far," he replied, his tone calm and focused.

With a sigh, Gwen leaned back, her eyes drifting towards the sky. "I still can't believe Lorna is Ace's partner," she mused, a hint of something in her voice.

Peter glanced at her, a small smile playing on his lips. "Yeah, it was a surprise when we first met her," he said, "but she's been a big help to Ace and us."

Gwen nodded, her fingers fidgeting with the edge of her costume. "I guess so," she murmured, her gaze shifting back to the facility.

"You know, Gwen," Peter began, his voice soft, "it's okay to be a little jealous."

Gwen felt her cheeks flush, and she quickly turned away, hoping the darkness would hide her embarrassment. "I-I'm not jealous," she stammered, her voice unconvincing even to her own ears.

Peter chuckled, his hand reaching out to give her shoulder a gentle squeeze. "It's alright, Gwen," he reassured her. "Lorna may be Ace's partner, but you'll always be one of his closest friends."

Gwen nodded, her lips curving into a small, grateful smile. She knew Peter was right, but the thought of Lorna and Ace working so closely together still nagged at her. Pushing those feelings aside, she refocused her attention on the task at hand, her eyes scanning the area for any signs of trouble.

The two heroes remained vigilant, their senses heightened as they waited for any potential activity at the research facility. The night was still and quiet, save for the occasional distant sound of traffic or a stray animal scurrying in the shadows.

Gwen found herself stealing glances at Peter, admiring his unwavering focus and determination. She couldn't help but wonder if he had ever felt the same way she did about Ace and Lorna's partnership. But she quickly dismissed the thought, knowing that Peter's heart belonged to another.

As the minutes ticked by, Gwen felt a growing sense of unease. The lack of activity was starting to make her uneasy, and she couldn't shake the feeling that something was about to happen.

"Peter," she whispered, her voice barely audible, "do you think-"

But before she could finish her thought, a sudden movement caught their attention, drawing their gaze back to the research facility below.

Gwen and Peter watched in alarm as the green aliens swarmed the research facility, their strange technology blasting at the fleeing scientists.

"Are those the same aliens that Ace and Lorna fought?" Peter asked, his eyes narrowing behind his mask.

"No time to question it," Gwen replied, her voice firm. "We have to stop them."

Without further hesitation, the two heroes leaped down from the rooftop, landing gracefully in front of the panicked scientists.

"Get to safety!" Gwen shouted, her web-shooters already firing strands of webbing to ensnare the closest aliens.

Peter joined the fray, his agility and reflexes allowing him to dodge the aliens' blasts as he fired his own web-lines, trapping them in place.

"There's too many of them!" Gwen called out, her brow furrowed in concentration as she fought to protect the fleeing scientists.

Peter nodded, his mind racing as he searched for a solution. "We need to get the civilians out of here," he said, his gaze sweeping the area.

Gwen understood, and together, they herded the scientists towards the exit, shielding them from the alien attacks. The two heroes worked in tandem, their movements fluid and coordinated as they fought to keep the scientists safe.

As the last of the scientists reached the exit, Gwen and Peter turned their full attention to the aliens.

Gwen and Peter, in their Spider-Man and Spider-Woman costumes, continued their fierce battle against the swarming aliens. The creatures' strange technology and sheer numbers made them a formidable foe, but the two heroes refused to back down.

As the fight raged on, Gwen's sharp eyes caught sight of one of the aliens breaking away from the group, clutching a silver suitcase in its clawed hands.

"Peter, look!" Gwen called out, her voice laced with urgency. "One of them is trying to get away with something!"

Peter followed her gaze, his mind quickly piecing together the significance of the suitcase. "They must be after that!" he exclaimed, his web-shooters firing a stream of webbing towards the retreating alien.

The alien, sensing the danger, quickened its pace, darting between its fellow creatures to evade the webbing. Gwen and Peter pursued it, their agility and reflexes put to the test as they navigated the chaotic battlefield.

"We can't let it get away!" Gwen shouted, her own web-lines narrowly missing the alien's escape.

Peter nodded, his expression grim. "I'll try to cut it off, you keep the others busy!"

Gwen acknowledged his plan with a nod, turning her attention back to the swarm of aliens. She whirled and leaped, her webs ensnaring the creatures and allowing her to gain some ground. But for every one she trapped, two more seemed to take its place.

Meanwhile, Peter maneuvered through the chaos, his keen eyes tracking the alien's movements. He knew he had to time his attack perfectly, lest the creature slip through his grasp.

As the alien neared a side entrance, Peter launched himself into the air, his web-shooters firing a series of precise weblines. The alien, caught off guard, stumbled and lost its grip on the suitcase, which tumbled to the ground.

Gwen, sensing an opportunity, redoubled her efforts, her webs trapping the aliens and clearing a path towards the fallen suitcase. Peter landed beside her, his eyes fixed on the prize.

"I've got the suitcase, you keep them busy!" he called out, darting towards the silver case.

Gwen nodded, her focus shifting to the aliens that continued to press their attack. She lashed out with her webs, her movements growing more desperate as the creatures seemed to close in around her.

Peter reached the suitcase, his fingers wrapping around the handle. But as he lifted it, a sudden blast of energy struck him, sending him tumbling backwards.

Gwen whirled around, her heart racing as she saw Peter's prone form. "Peter!" she cried, her voice laced with fear.

The alien that had fired the blast now stood over the suitcase, its clawed hands reaching down to retrieve it. Gwen knew she had to act quickly, but the sheer number of aliens surrounding her made it nearly impossible to reach the suitcase.

Desperate, Gwen unleashed a flurry of web-lines, her movements becoming a blur as she fought to create an opening. But the aliens were relentless, their strange technology proving to be a formidable obstacle.

Peter, his senses still reeling from the blast, forced himself to his feet, his eyes narrowing as he saw the alien reaching for the suitcase. With a surge of determination, he launched himself forward, his web-shooters firing a barrage of webbing.

The alien, caught off guard, stumbled back, the suitcase slipping from its grasp. Peter dove for the case, his fingers closing around the handle just as Gwen reached his side.

"Peter, are you okay?" Gwen asked, her voice laced with concern as she scanned him for any injuries.

Peter nodded, his grip tightening on the suitcase. "I'm fine, but we need to get this thing out of here," he said, his gaze shifting to the alien that was now regaining its footing.

Gwen followed his line of sight, her expression hardening. "Then let's go," she said, her web-shooters primed and ready.

The two heroes turned to face the swarm of aliens, their determination fueling their movements as they fought to protect the mysterious suitcase.

But despite their best efforts, the aliens continued to press their attack, their numbers and advanced technology proving to be a formidable challenge.

Gwen and Peter found themselves being pushed back, their webs and agility barely keeping the aliens at bay. The suitcase, now clutched tightly in Peter's grasp, seemed to be the key to the aliens' relentless pursuit.

As the battle raged on, Gwen and Peter exchanged a worried glance, their minds racing to find a way to escape the overwhelming odds.

The air crackled with the intensity of the battle as Gwen and Peter found themselves overwhelmed by the relentless alien onslaught. Just when they thought all hope was lost, a sudden burst of green energy erupted, sending the aliens reeling.

Gwen and Peter turned, their eyes widening as they beheld the figure responsible for the attack. A man in green armor, a red cape, and a distinctive fishbowl-shaped helmet strode towards them, his presence commanding their attention.

"Who are you?" Peter asked, his grip tightening on the suitcase he had retrieved.

The armored figure regarded them with an air of superiority. "I am Mysterio, the last survivor of a dimension ravaged by these alien invaders," he proclaimed, his voice resonating with a sense of tragedy.

With a wave of his hand, Mysterio caused the aliens to vanish, leaving Gwen and Peter in a state of bewilderment.

"The suitcase they were after contains the key to their technology," Mysterio continued, his gaze fixed on the object in Peter's hands. "I've come to this dimension to stop them and prevent the same fate from befalling this world."

Gwen and Peter exchanged a glance, their initial wariness giving way to a sense of relief and trust. Mysterio's story, though unexpected, seemed to align with their own mission to protect the city.

"We're trying to stop them too," Gwen said, her voice tinged with a newfound hope. "Can you help us?"

Mysterio nodded solemnly. "Of course, my dear," he replied, his tone grave. "Together, we must ensure that the alien threat is neutralized for good."

Peter hesitated, his mind still processing the sudden turn of events. "How can we trust you?" he asked, his eyes narrowing behind his mask.

Mysterio raised a hand, his expression earnest. "I understand your skepticism, young man," he said, "but I assure you, my only goal is to protect this world from the same devastation that consumed my own."

Gwen placed a hand on Peter's arm, her gaze pleading. "We have to try, Peter," she said, her voice low. "If he can help us stop the aliens, we have to take that chance."

Peter's jaw tightened, but he reluctantly nodded, the suitcase still clutched tightly in his grasp. "Alright, Mysterio," he said, his voice laced with caution. "What do we do?"

Mysterio's lips curved into a small, satisfied smile. "Follow me, and I will show you how to harness the power within that suitcase to defeat the alien menace once and for all," he said, his tone confident and assured.

As Mysterio turned and began to lead the way, Gwen and Peter exchanged one last uncertain glance before falling into step behind the enigmatic figure, their hearts filled with a mixture of hope and trepidation.
