Creating The Strongest Familia In Danmachi Ch 78

Aiz, Tiona, and Tione stood in the heart of Orario's bustling streets, facing a peculiar monster that resembled a snake but sprouted from the ground like a grotesque flower. Its many heads bobbed menacingly, and its body was covered in scale-like patterns that seemed almost indestructible. Lefiya clutched her bag tightly behind them, her eyes wide with fear as she watched the battle unfold. Without her mage staff, she felt vulnerable and exposed.

Tiona and Tione swung their fists at the monster's tough skin, but their blows barely made a dent. The force of their punches trembled through their arms as they struggled to break through the creature's defenses. Aiz, however, had come prepared for this unusual foe. She brandished her spare sword and slashed at one of the monster's heads with all her might. But the blade shattered upon impact, leaving her weaponless.

The creature widened its maw, revealing a floral and carnivorous appearance similar to that of a venus flytrap. Aiz's expression grew serious as she discerned that this wasn't a typical snake-like foe but rather a plant-based creature.

"This thing is tougher than I thought," Aiz grunted, wiping sweat from her brow. "We need to be careful."

Tiona and Tione nodded in agreement, their faces flushed with exertion. They continued to pummel the creature with their fists, their knuckles turning white from the force of their blows. Lefiya watched nervously from behind them, her heart pounding in her chest. She prayed that they would be able to defeat this strange plant monster before it caused any more damage to the city.

The plant monster's tail whipped out with surprising speed, catching Aiz off guard. The powerful strike sent her flying backwards, her body slamming into the ground with a painful thud. She struggled to catch her breath, her vision blurring from the impact.

Lefiya stepped forward, her hands trembling as she began to cast a spell. The monster sensed the buildup of magic and turned its attention to her, its many heads hissing menacingly. Lefiya's eyes widened in fear as the creature lunged towards her, its jaws snapping hungrily.

Suddenly, David swooped in from above, grabbing Lefiya under her arms and lifting her off the ground just in time to dodge the monster's attack. Lefiya gasped in surprise, her heart racing as she realized she was hovering in midair. She turned her head to see David behind her, a confident grin on his face.

"Looks like you all are having a hard time. Mind if I help?" he asked, his voice light and teasing.

Aiz, Tiona, and Tione looked up at David, their expressions a mix of relief and gratitude. They nodded eagerly, welcoming his assistance in battling the formidable plant monster.

Lefiya, however, felt a surge of annoyance and frustration course through her. She hated feeling helpless and weak, especially in front of David. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she realized she had needed him to save her.

"Put me down!" she demanded, her voice shrill and angry. "I don't need your help!"

David raised an eyebrow at her outburst but gently lowered her back to the ground. Lefiya glared at him for a moment before turning her attention back to the monster, her hands already moving to cast another spell.

The plant monster, sensing the build-up of magic, aimed its many heads directly at Lefiya. The adventurers knew they had to act quickly to prevent it from harming their comrade. Aiz, still reeling from the impact of the monster's tail, used her broken sword as best she could, deflecting the monster's attacks and trying to land a few strikes of her own.

Tiona and Tione, meanwhile, used their fists to great effect, their punches and kicks causing the plant monster's heads to wobble and sway. David, ever the resourceful one, used his webs to constrict the monster, trapping it in a tight cocoon. As the creature struggled to break free, David shot ghost rays from his fingers, keeping it immobilized.

Lefiya, her heart pounding in her chest, finally finished her chanting. She looked at the monster with fierce determination in her eyes and cried out,

"My name is Alf! Wynn Fimbulvetr!" With that, she unleashed a blast of ice magic that struck the monster dead center.

The ice magic was powerful, freezing the monster in place like a statue. David, seeing the monster's immobility, swooped in and used his webs to break the ice, shattering the monster into ice fragments. The adventurers watched as the fragments crumbled to the ground, their mission successful.

David POV

I survey the scene, pleased to see the situation has been resolved. Turning to Aiz and the others, I catch their eyes.

"Thanks for your help back there," Aiz says, her usual stoic expression softening ever so slightly. Tiona and Tione chime in,

"Yeah, you really saved our bacon!" Lefiya approaches, her brow furrowed, but she manages a begrudging

"Thank you."

I nod, unable to suppress a hint of pride. "Happy to lend a hand,"

I asked the group if they knew what the strange monster was, but they all shook their heads in confusion.

"Any idea what that thing was?" I glanced around at Aiz, Tiona, Tione, and Lefiya, hoping one of them might have some insight.

Aiz's brow furrowed as she replied, "No, it's not like anything I've encountered before in the Dungeon."

Tiona's eyes widened, and she exclaimed, "Yeah, totally weird! It was like some kind of mutant plant or something!"

Lefiya crossed her arms, eyeing me warily. "We've never seen a monster like that in Orario. It must have come from somewhere else."

I nodded, considering the possibilities. "Well, whatever it was, I'm just glad we were able to take it down." A small smile tugged at the corners of my mouth - I couldn't help but feel a bit proud of our teamwork in defeating the unusual foe.

I looked over at Aiz and the others, "Hey, do you think you guys can handle the rest here? I still need to get back to Hestia and Eina."

Tiona perked up, "Ooh, what about the magic stone from that thing? Can we split the profits?"

I shook my head, "Nah, you guys keep it. I don't need the money." I flashed them a quick grin. "I'm just glad we were able to take that thing down together."

Aiz nodded slightly, "Very well. We appreciate your assistance."

"No problem. I'll catch you all later!" I waved and turned, hurrying back towards the Coliseum. As I navigated the busy streets, I couldn't help but feel a surge of pride. Working together with the Loki Familia had been surprisingly smooth, and I was grateful for their help.

When I reached the Coliseum, I spotted Hestia and Eina waiting for me. Hestia's face lit up as I approached. "David! There you are. Is everything okay?"

I nodded, "Yeah, everything's fine. We took care of that weird monster." I glanced at Eina, "Sorry for the delay. Shall we head back?"

Eina smiled, "Of course. I'm just glad you're safe." She gestured towards the exit, and the three of us made our way out of the Coliseum, ready to return to the Hestia Familia headquarters.
