Creating The Strongest Familia In Danmachi Ch 77

My enhanced eyesight, courtesy of my spider-like abilities, made the movements of the combatants appear slow and predictable. The adventurer wielded a great sword, swinging it with impressive force, but the Minotaur's agility allowed it to dodge the blows with ease.
As the battle raged on, the crowd erupted in cheers, captivated by the display of skill. Hestia leaned forward in her seat, her eyes wide with excitement, while Eina observed the fight with a more critical eye, no doubt evaluating the adventurer's technique.
I, on the other hand, found myself growing increasingly restless. The Minotaur's attacks were telegraphed, and the adventurer's responses, while skillful, lacked the unpredictability and creativity that I had grown accustomed to. I had seen similar fights in the Dungeon, where monsters and adventurers clashed in a battle of strength and endurance. This, however, felt more like a choreographed performance, lacking the raw intensity and danger that I had come to crave.
My gaze drifted away from the arena, scanning the crowd for any sign of the suspicious hooded figures I had spotted earlier. Though they had vanished from my sight, the unease I felt in their presence lingered, and I couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss.
Suddenly, a thunderous roar echoed through the Coliseum, drawing my attention back to the arena. The Minotaur had managed to overpower the adventurer, knocking the great sword from his grasp. The adventurer, now unarmed, desperately dodged the Minotaur's relentless attacks, his movements growing more frantic with each passing moment.
The crowd's cheers turned to gasps of horror as the Minotaur's horns closed in on the defenseless adventurer. I tensed, ready to spring into action if the situation became dire, but a part of me couldn't help but wonder if the adventurer had the skill to turn the tide of the battle.
Hestia gripped my arm, her nails digging into my skin. "David-kun, we have to do something! That poor adventurer is going to be killed!"
I placed my hand over hers, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "Don't worry, Hestia. I'm sure he'll find a way to prevail."
Eina, ever the voice of reason, spoke up. "David-kun, if the adventurer is in true peril, we should intervene. The safety of the participants is paramount."
I nodded, acknowledging her concerns, but my gaze remained fixed on the arena, my curiosity piqued. I wanted to see how the adventurer would respond to this dire situation, to witness the true extent of his capabilities.
I watched with bated breath as the Minotaur's horns drew closer, the adventurer's movements growing more desperate. Part of me wanted to spring into action, but a curious part of me couldn't help but wonder if the adventurer had the skill to turn the tide.
As the Minotaur charged, the adventurer rolled away, his movements quick and nimble. Seizing the opportunity, he sliced at the Minotaur's leg tendons with his knife, causing the massive creature to stagger, one of its legs now limping.
The Minotaur, hobbled and roaring in pain and frustration, was the perfect target. The adventurer snatched up his great sword and swung it down with all his might. The blade sliced through the Minotaur's chest, and the creature let out one final, agonizing bellow before dissolving into black smoke, leaving behind its magic stone.
The crowd erupted into thunderous cheers, applauding the adventurer's victory. Hestia jumped up from her seat, clapping excitedly, while Eina watched on with a proud smile.
I leaned back in my seat, watching as the crowd erupted into thunderous applause. "Not bad," I murmured, though my tone betrayed a hint of disappointment.
Hestia turned to me, her eyes shining with excitement. "Wasn't that amazing, David-kun? The adventurer was so brave, and his skill with that sword was incredible!"
I nodded, but my gaze remained fixed on the arena. "It was impressive, I suppose. But I was hoping for a bit more excitement, you know? The adventurer's level is only around 3, if I had to guess. I was hoping to see some real power on display."
Hestia's brow furrowed. "Level 3? But that's still a respectable level, isn't it? I mean, you're only at level 2 yourself, David-kun."
I couldn't help but chuckle. "True, but you know me, Hestia. I'm always looking for a challenge. I was hoping to see real power, like my own."
Eina spoke up, "David, the Monsterphilia is for showcasing adventurers, not high-level battles. The Dungeon has the real challenges."
I nodded, "I suppose you're right. I've been spoiled by our Dungeon adventures. But I'm still underwhelmed."
Hestia placed a hand on my arm, "Not everyone has your advantages. These adventurers are doing their best, and that's what matters."
I sighed, "You're right. I shouldn't judge. I'm just anxious to see what this world has to offer and test my limits."
Eina smiled, "Your time will come, David. Let's enjoy the rest of the Monsterphilia."
I nodded, my gaze returning to the next set of adventurers.
I heard a loud explosion rumble through the air, shaking the very foundations of the Coliseum. My head snapped towards the sound, brow furrowed with concern. "What in the world was that?" I muttered, my senses on high alert.
Hestia's delicate hand gripped my arm, her eyes wide with worry. "David-kun, did you hear that? Is something wrong?"
I turned to face her, my expression grim. "I'm not sure, but it sounded like trouble. I need to go take a look." Without waiting for a response, I rose from my seat, my muscles coiled and ready for action.
Eina's voice called out, "David, be careful. We don't know what's going on out there." Her brow was creased with concern, but I could see the trust in her eyes.
I flashed her a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, Eina. I'll be back before you know it." With that, I made my way through the throngs of people, my keen eyes scanning the area for any signs of danger.
I turned into my ghost form and flew out of the Coliseum, my body becoming intangible as I soared through the air. With my enhanced senses, I honed in on the source of the disturbance, my mind racing with possibilities. As I drew closer, the acrid smell of smoke and the sound of panicked screams reached my heightened senses. Narrowing my eyes, I picked up speed, determined to uncover the cause of the commotion and offer my assistance if needed. Whatever was happening, I knew I had to act quickly to ensure the safety of the attendees.
