Creating The Strongest Familia In Danmachi Ch 84
Added 2024-11-21 23:25:53 +0000 UTCI wake up in the soft, plush bed, the morning light filtering through the window. For a moment, I'm disoriented, forgetting where I am. Then, the events of yesterday come flooding back - David's offer to join the Hestia Familia and stay at their headquarters.
As I stretch and get up, I can't help but feel a twinge of uncertainty. David and his companions have been nothing but kind to me, but a part of me wonders if there's some ulterior motive behind their generosity. After all, I'm just a lowly supporter, not a powerful adventurer like them.
But then I remember the way they treated me - with respect and genuine care. David didn't have to give me such a large share of the earnings, nor offer me a place to stay. And Hestia, the goddess, welcomed me so warmly, without any hint of judgment or condescension.
I make my way to the door, hesitating for a moment before opening it. As I step out into the hallway, I'm greeted by the sight of the Minions scurrying about, their cheerful chatter filling the air. They spot me and immediately swarm around, their big eyes and excited squeals making me smile despite myself.
Perhaps I was too quick to doubt the Hestia Familia's intentions. They've already shown me more kindness than I've experienced in a long time. With a newfound sense of optimism, I follow the Minions, eager to see what this day has in store.
I enter the dining hall, the Minions practically dragging me along. To my surprise, I see David intently focused on some kind of device in his hands - it looks like a small, rectangular box with a glowing screen. I've never seen anything like it before.
Lunamon is busy setting the table, while Bell is assisting her, arranging plates and utensils. When they notice me, their faces light up with warm smiles.
"Good morning, Lili!" Bell greets me enthusiastically. "We're just getting breakfast ready. Please, have a seat!"
I return their greetings, feeling a little self-conscious but also grateful for their kindness. As I take a seat, David looks up from his device and gives me a friendly nod.
"Morning, Lili," he says. "Sleep well?"
I nod, still a bit unsure of how to act around these people who have so readily accepted me into their fold. But their genuine care and welcoming demeanor make me feel more at ease with each passing moment.
"I did, actually," I reply, feeling a small smile tugging at the corners of my lips. "It was the best bed I've ever slept on."
As the words leave my mouth, I can't help but think back to the nights I spent on the hard, uncomfortable cots in the Soma Familia's hideout. Those beds were nothing like the plush, cloud-like mattress I sank into last night. It was as if I had been sleeping on a pile of rocks for years, and finally found a proper bed to rest my weary body.
The mattress felt like it was molding to the shape of my body, cradling me in a warm embrace. The sheets were soft and smooth, not scratchy and worn like the ones I was used to. It was a level of comfort I had never experienced before, and I found myself drifting off to sleep almost instantly, lulled by the gentle softness surrounding me.
I nodded, a small smile spreading across my face. "Yes, it was wonderful. I can't remember the last time I slept so well."
David chuckled, his eyes crinkling with amusement. "I'm glad to hear that, Lili. Hestia-sama likes to make sure everyone in the Familia is comfortable."
At the mention of Hestia-sama, my curiosity was piqued. "Speaking of Hestia-sama, where is she?"
David's expression softened. "Ah, well, Hestia-sama is not much of a morning person. She's still asleep at the moment." He paused, a mischievous glint in his eye. "But I'm sure she'll be up and about soon enough."
I couldn't help but giggle at the thought of the mighty goddess Hestia-sama sleeping in. It was an unexpected, yet endearing image. I found myself looking forward to meeting her properly, to express my gratitude for welcoming me into this Familia.
As I pondered this, Bell approached with a tray of delectable-looking dishes. "Breakfast is ready!" he announced, his voice filled with enthusiasm.
Just in time, Hestia arrived and saw the delicious breakfast. I watched as the petite goddess practically glided into the room, her long black hair cascading down her back. Her bright blue eyes sparkled with delight as she took in the spread before us.
"Ah, it all looks so wonderful!" Hestia exclaimed, clapping her hands together. She quickly took her seat at the head of the table, looking around at each of us with a warm smile.
David, Lunamon, Bell and I all chorused "Itadakimasu!" in unison before digging into the meal. The flavors were unlike anything I had ever tasted - savory, sweet, and perfectly balanced. I found myself closing my eyes as I chewed, savoring each bite.
"This is amazing!" I couldn't help but blurt out. "Who made all of this?"
Lunamon perked up, a proud smile on her face. "I did! Well, with some help from the Minions of course."
I glanced around the table at the cheerful yellow creatures, marveling at their efficiency and coordination. They truly were remarkable beings.
Hestia let out a delighted laugh. "Lunamon is an excellent cook! We're so lucky to have her in our Familia."
I nodded in agreement, taking another bite and relishing the complex flavors. As I ate, I couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment and belonging that I hadn't experienced in a very long time. These people - no, my new family - had welcomed me with open arms, and I was determined to prove myself worthy of their kindness.
David caught my eye and gave me an encouraging smile, as if he could sense the thoughts swirling in my mind. I returned the smile, feeling the last vestiges of my doubts and reservations melt away. This was where I was meant to be.
