Creating The Strongest Familia In Danmachi Ch 87

Lunamon, Bell, and Lili fought alongside me on the 8th floor of the Dungeon. The air was thick with the scent of monster blood and the sounds of our weapons clashing against their tough hides.

Bell danced around a Killer Ant, his sword a blur as he struck with precision. Lili provided support, her crossbow bolts finding their mark with deadly accuracy. Lunamon's Tear Shots bombarded a group of Orcs, staggering them long enough for me to sweep in and take them down with a series of heavy blows.

We worked in perfect sync, each of us covering the others' weaknesses. I couldn't help but feel a swell of pride watching my Familia in action. These were my people, my family, and we were unstoppable.

As the last monster fell, we paused to catch our breath. Lili checked her bolts while Bell wiped the sweat from his brow. Lunamon offered us all a healing potion, which we gratefully accepted.

"Great work, everyone," I said, surveying the scene.

Bell grinned at me. "Thanks, Captain."

Lili has a small smile playing on her lips. "We make a good team."

As they ventured deeper, a sudden cry echoed through the air. Swarms of War Ants converged on them, putting us on high alert. I gripped my tactical shovel tightly, ready to defend my Familia.

"Stay close!" I shouted to Bell and Lili. Lunamon materialized beside me, her paws glowing with lunar energy.

The War Ants scuttled towards us, their mandibles clacking. Bell brandished his sword, his eyes narrowed in concentration. Lili nocked a bolt in her crossbow, her hands steady.

"What's causing them to attack like this?" Lili asked, firing a volley of bolts.

I shook my head, deflecting the Ants with my shovel. "I don't know, but we need to find the source."

Lunamon unleashed a barrage of Tear Shots, forcing the Ants back. Bell darted between them, his blade flashing.

"There's too many!" he grunted, his brow furrowed.

I grew serious, realizing we needed to end this confrontation quickly. I unleashed all of my power, shooting webs to immobilize the War Ants or slam them against the walls and each other. My ghostly energy coalesced into concentrated rays that exploded the trapped ants, defeating them with ease.

Bell and Lili watched in awe as I decimated the swarm. Lunamon's lunar energy bolstered my attacks, creating a devastating combo that left the Dungeon floor littered with the remains of the defeated ants.

"Whoa, Captain!" Bell exclaimed. "That was incredible!"

Lili's eyes were wide. "I've never seen anything like that."

I allowed myself a small smile, pleased that my power had been enough to protect my Familia. We pressed on, determined to uncover the source of the ant attack and eliminate any further threats.

I surveyed the carnage around us, the bodies of the War Ants disintegrating into magic stones. Lili, Bell, and Lunamon seemed shaken but unharmed.

"Everyone okay?" I asked, my gaze sweeping over them.

They nodded, a mix of awe and concern on their faces.

"What do you think caused them to attack like that?" Bell wondered aloud.

I frowned, running a hand through my hair. "I'm not sure, but I intend to find out."

A faint rustling nearby caught my attention. I motioned for the others to stay close as I cautiously approached the source of the sound.

Here is a 200-word continuation from David Miller's perspective:

As I drew closer, I spotted four adventurers, their clothes tattered and weapons bloodied. Wounded War Ants lay at their feet, their agonized cries echoing through the corridor.

"Hold it right there," I called out, stepping into view. "What's going on here?"

The adventurers whirled around, their eyes narrowing when they saw me. Lili let out a gasp beside me, her face paling.

"The Soma Familia," she whispered, her voice trembling.

I glanced at her, then back at the group, my eyes hardening. "So you're the ones responsible for riling up those War Ants. Care to explain yourselves?"

One of the Soma Familia members, a burly man with a scar across his face, sneered at me. "None of your business, outsider. We were just collecting a few samples, that's all."

Lili stepped forward, her hands clenched into fists. "Samples? You were luring them, weren't you? That's why the other War Ants came after us!"

"So what? It is none of your business."

I narrowed my eyes at the Soma Familia members, my grip tightening on my shovel.

"It seems very much our business when your actions put my Familia in danger."

Lili stepped forward, her voice laced with anger. "Don't try to lie to us. You were luring those War Ants to attack us, weren't you?"

The burly man sneered. "And what if we were? What are you going to do about it, little girl?"

My jaw tightened, and I felt a surge of protectiveness wash over me. "I'd suggest you leave, before I make you regret coming down here."

The Soma Familia members exchanged glances, then the burly man let out a harsh laugh. "You don't scare us, Goliath Slayer. We have our own plans, and you and your precious Familia are in our way."

Anger welled up inside me and I quickly moved toward them like a blur. I knocked two out and grabbed the other two by the neck, barely letting them breathe.

"Confess. Now," I growled, tightening my grip.

The men gasped and sputtered, their faces turning red.

"We...we were after your money...and the girl's...equipment and savings..." one of them choked out.

I glared at them, my ghostly energy crackling around my fingers. "And what made you think you could get away with that?"

The other man coughed, his eyes wide with fear. "P-please...we'll leave, just let us go..."

I considered their pleas, then glanced back at Lili, Bell, and Lunamon. Their safety was my top priority. I turned back to the men, my voice low and dangerous.

"If I ever see you near my Familia again, I won't be so merciful. Understand?"

They nodded frantically, and I released my hold on their necks. The men scrambled to their feet and fled, disappearing into the darkness of the Dungeon.

I watched them go, my anger still simmering. How dare they threaten my family. I clenched my fists, ready to chase them down, but a hand on my arm stopped me.

"David, it's okay. They're gone now," Lili said softly, her eyes filled with concern.

I took a deep breath, forcing myself to calm down. She was right - the threat had been neutralized for now. But I knew this wouldn't be the last time the Soma Familia tried to target us.
