Creating The Strongest Familia In Danmachi Ch 86

"Wow, Lili, that crossbow of yours is really something else," I said, patting her on the back. "And that backpack? I don't know how we ever managed without it."
Lili's cheeks flushed with a hint of embarrassment, but she couldn't hide the satisfied grin on her face. "It's all thanks to Phineas and Ferb. I'm just glad I could put it to good use."
Lunamon nodded, her large eyes shimmering with admiration. "Your skills with that crossbow were truly impressive, Lili. You make it look effortless."
Bell chimed in, his voice brimming with enthusiasm. "Absolutely! We couldn't have done it without you. This is a huge win for the Hestia Familia!"
Here is the continuation from the perspective of David Miller:
I watched as Lunamon, Bell, and Lili made their way back to our headquarters, their voices echoing with laughter and excitement. But as I scanned the area, I couldn't shake the feeling that we were being followed. My gaze narrowed, searching the shadows for any sign of movement.
"You guys go on ahead," I said, placing a hand on Bell's shoulder. "I've got something I need to take care of first."
Lunamon tilted her head, her ears perking up. "Is everything alright, David?"
I offered a reassuring smile. "Everything's fine, don't worry. I'll catch up with you in a bit."
Bell and Lili exchanged a curious glance, but they didn't press the issue. With a nod, they continued on, Lunamon trailing close behind them.
I ducked into a secluded alley, taking a winding path through the corners. That shadow was still on my tail. Gotta lose this guy.
I quickened my pace, darting around turns and keeping an eye out for any potential hiding spots. This was starting to feel like one of those spy movies I used to watch. Guess I'm the main character now, huh?
Once I was certain that no one would disturb us, I called out to whomever was following me to show himself. A member of the Soma Familia stepped forward. He was wearing leather armor, with some metal pieces protecting his vital areas, and he had a sword strapped to his back.
"Alright, pal, what's the deal?" I asked, my hand instinctively reaching for the Spider-Man suit hidden under my clothes. "You've been tailing us for a while now. What do you want?"
The Soma Familia member raised his hands in a placating gesture. "Relax, I mean no harm."
I narrowed my eyes at the Soma Familia member. "Cut to the chase. What do you want?"
The Soma Familia member raised his hands in a placating gesture. "Look, I know you've been after that Pallum girl's savings. We could ambush her and split the money she has. What do you say we team up?"
I looked at the member of the Soma Familia with disdain. "Lili is part of our Familia now. I would never let you or anyone else take advantage of her."
The Soma Familia member scoffed. "Oh, come on. You really expect me to believe that? Supporters are nothing but pack mules to us. She's probably been stealing from you the whole time."
I clenched my fists, my anger rising. "That's not true at all. Lili is an integral part of our team, and we trust her completely."
The Soma Familia member shook his head, a smug grin on his face. "Whatever you say, pal. But when that Pallum runs off with all your hard-earned cash, don't say I didn't warn you."
With that, he turned and disappeared back into the shadows, leaving me fuming. I couldn't believe the nerve of that guy, trying to turn me against Lili. She had proven her loyalty time and time again, and I wasn't about to let some lowlife from the Soma Familia ruin that.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves. I needed to get back to the others and make sure they were safe. As I hurried back to the headquarters, I couldn't shake the uneasy feeling that this wasn't the last I'd seen of the Soma Familia.
I arrived back at the headquarters, where Hestia greeted me with a warm welcome.
"David! There you are," Hestia said, her eyes bright with relief. She rushed over and grasped my arm, her small hand surprisingly strong. "I was starting to worry. Is everything alright?"
I gave her a reassuring smile. "Everything's fine, Hestia. Just had to take care of a little something." I glanced around the room, spotting the others gathered together. "Where's Lili?"
"She's resting in the living room," Hestia replied. "Bell and Lunamon are with her."
I headed to the living room, my steps quickening with concern. As I entered, I found Bell, Lunamon, and Lili gathered together, their voices animated as they conversed.
"Hey, guys," I greeted them, my eyes scanning Lili's face for any sign of distress. "How's everyone doing?"
Lili looked up at me, her expression open and relaxed. "We're doing great, David. Just comparing notes on our latest adventure in the Dungeon."
Bell nodded enthusiastically. "Lili was incredible out there. I'm really impressed with how she's been handling that new crossbow."
Lunamon's ears perked up. "Yes, her skills have improved tremendously. I'm glad the equipment Phineas and Ferb made is proving so useful."
I let out a relieved sigh, the tension in my shoulders easing. "That's good to hear. I'm glad you're all doing well."
As I looked at the three of them, I vowed in my heart to protect them as much as I could. Lili, Bell, and Lunamon - they had become like family to me, and I wasn't about to let anyone from the Soma Familia or anyone else put them in harm's way.
I took a step forward, placing a hand on Lili's shoulder. "If there's anything you need, anything at all, you can count on me, okay?"
Lili gave me a warm smile, her eyes shining with trust. "We know, David. We're just happy to have you looking out for us."
