I just want to comment on you saying Elena should apologize to Damon. I assume you're talking about that scene in 3x14, when he said he was in love with her and she said maybe that was the problem. But the thing is, she tried to apologize almost as soon as she said it. The next words out of her mouth, before Damon even said anything, were "No... that's not what I--" and then Damon cut her off and wouldn't let her finish. Later, she even told Stefan that Damon was upset because she'd said something she didn't mean, but it's hard to apologize to someone who refuses to listen to you.
