I like that you have “head canon” that differs from story re Ruby, I think we all have at least one thing that we think show got “wrong”. But in the DVD commentary for this episode, Kripke talks about the writers always intending this for Ruby (and the stinker giggles about watching fan debates online on whether Sam should be trusting her or not.) The voice mail that Sam got was manipulated by Zachariah - that’s what Zach was talking aabout when he said that Sam might need to be nudged in the right direction but that he would make sure it happened. Now-a-days, one of my favorite things about this episode is hearing Jared and Jensen imagine the conversations that will take place once Jared & Gen’s kids see it. “Daddy, why is Uncle Jensen stabbing Mommy?” Glad you enjoyed this season, buckle up, things are even wilder in S5.

No one ever trusted Ruby she's a demon but she always had this plan to get Sam to that last seal by midnight on that day bc that's when that spell had to happen then or probably not for another you know 500 years or something so even though the Ruby's are different in your head(and that's adorable💜)she was always evil bc well demon oh and can't wait for you to react to this gagreel it's good!!!👍😎🔯💜🌟😁

Never trust a demon. That's the takeaway from this. How can a demon be "good"? A demon is a creature of evil. But I do like your theory. This was an amazing episode. I personally don't think season 5 is better than 4. Season 5 has more episodes that I don't care for, got one thing. It I'd still really good, and it takes the show to the next level. You will get answers to your questions in season 5. Dome big surprises. I live how Dean was able to influence Cas. Dean may see things in black and white, right and wrong, but it works. His instincts are usually right.

Sitting here in my office hoping my boss doesn’t walk in and find me watching on the clock, lol. I didn’t want to wait until after work to watch. I didn’t trust or like Katie Cassidy’s Ruby any more than Genevieve’s version. She’s always had an air of lying snake to her for me. Good review over all, looking forward to next season.
