I watched GA but have to take a break from it not fully caught up think I got to season 11 but I watched the spin off show.

GA is pretty good, stopped after S10, but it took me until earlier this year to watch past S4/5, the first season are definitely leagues better in my opinion than the later ones.

I fell off the GA band wagon after season 3 or 4, but I always really liked many of the characters, especially the 4 main interns: Meredith, George, Cristina, and Izzie. I don't think Izzie got to do too much in the pilot.

Grey's Anatomy is definitely entertaining. I watched it for a few years. It's more soapy than ER -- not in a bad way necessarily -- it just has a lot about the characters' personal lives and love lives.

Well I'm in! I never watched Grey's Anatomy until now, and I am fairly impressed. I think I'll continue with it. My favorite hospital show has always been ER. I would recommend that to you, but it's pretty gory. Actually, it's kind of similar ... medical drama mixed with interpersonal drama. But ER's medical scenes are designed to be much higher-pressure, and the whole atmosphere is a little less pretty, looser, more run-down. Instead fo a bright shiny hospital in beautiful Seattle, it's an under-funded, kind of grimy hospital in Chicago. Give it a shot. Some episodes of ER are the very best TV I've ever seen.

There are plenty of good, interesting medical shows and this is not one of them. Over-dramatized soap opera with a bit of medical scenes. Your time and reactions would be wasted on this show.

One of the best shows out there truly. It starts getting worse after s7 but i can forgive the lowering quality bcs its just such a joy to watch it.

Shan, I REALLY hope you stick with Grey's. I've been watching it since S1 and while it develops some issues later, there's some god-tier drama in the early seasons. A lot of Buffy writers write for the show and have done since it began :).

Someone recommended this to me because I liked House. I was very disappointed. I wouldn’t even qualify it as a medical drama, it’s more tragedy porn.

I think I'm five or six seasons behind GA at this point and have no immediate plans to catch up, but I got some great memories of binging the first two or three seasons. The show really came out of the gate swinging and is some of the best tv of its kind in those first few years. For my money, it deserved all the success it had at that point.
