I think she chose her son over her father and based on his disapproval of her choice in husband and life, can't say I really blame her. Maybe they could have sorted things out when clark got older and could control his powers. Keep in mind Jonathan did try to say sorry after the argument but Martha's dad wouldn't accept...Also Jonathan is very self righteous but he's a good guy just trying to look after his family the best he can, he's no superman after all. Love the reactions
