2018-11-03 17:43:50 +0000 UTCI've gotta give Elena credit for practicing what she preaches. In the past, she has encouraged both Stefan and Damon to fight against being compelled. Silas's mind control was pretty much the same thing, and Elena fought it, even stabbing herself through the leg to keep herself from hurting Damon. I don't have a problem with Elena's concern for Stefan. First of all, it was largely caused by Silas's mind control. Second, just because she's not in love with Stefan any more doesn't mean she doesn't still love him, as much as she loves Jeremy, Bonnie, Caroline, Matt... I do see your point about ship baiting, and there have been a number of times where I've felt that way since Elena chose Damon in 4x06, but when it comes to the question of who Elena wants to be with and no matter how many people weigh in on that question, there's only one person whose opinion actually matters, and Elena has been completely consistent about the answer to that question.
