I saw the cartoon (didn't read the comics either), and I honestly like the show better. lol Minus Starfire. I'm also black, so not because she is, and the actress's acting IS amazing. She's just too different from cartoon Starfire. I heard she's more like comics Starfire, and that explanation doesn't make me like her any more, as since I haven't read it and don't plan to, I don't care. lol This Starfire is still too different from the one I personally grew up with personality-wise. I honestly would have based things off of the cartoon primarily, but kept things darker with some Easter eggs from the comics for the comic fans. Because I feel like it's easier for people to watch the cartoon if they've not seen it versus read the comics if they haven't read it. Considering there's TONS of the latter; I wouldn't even know where to start.

I remember the show getting a lot of negative feedback for being so dark and different from the cartoon, or the comics, or both..... I like the dark edge, and never read the comics or watched the 'toon. That may be part of why I can enjoy the show, who knows?
