Hmmmm im not sure i agree with your confusion throughout this episode, the first episode felicity and Oliver met i immediately thought they were into each other. I get the "build up" point you made but i don't think it was as bad as u made it

I didn't feel it was forced you may not have caught it but there was several times where it was hinted at you could tell by how Ollie was talking and feel the chemistry that he had feeling and just didn't want to admit it to himself while he was still conflicted and wrapped up with Laurel and Sara. Plus he may have had some feelings and attraction towards her before maybe not actually in love and now it's been 5 months since then and they are closer to that plus he has been focused on her and not on Laurel or Sara during the break so it makes sense to me he would have a clearer head about it now.

I agree, they have given clues in S1 and S2 of Oliver's feelings for Felicity, but maybe if you were all about Oliver and Sarah or Oliver and Laurel, you would have missed them as clues.

Personally I didn't feel the relationship was forced because I always felt they were building it up since they introduced her, and they just sort of rushed it for the beginning of this season. But I see how it could be looked at otherwise

Sometimes it's 5 months between seasons (true in this case, as Quentin said). So Ollie could have developed some feelings for Felicity during that time. If you like the ship, it's Olicity. If you don't, it's Follie (like folly, get it?). :)
