According to his bio on IMDB he is distantly related...this is how IMDB puts it... "Adam is distantly related to the Baldwin brothers Alec Baldwin, Daniel Baldwin, William Baldwin and Stephen Baldwin, who are from Long Island, New York (Adam is from the Chicago area). They share common Baldwin ancestry going back to the 1600s in England."

2018-12-07 08:43:43 +0000 UTCIn nautical terms the difference between a boat and a ship is vague and not fully explainable by anyone (eg one goes on a ship but in a boat).So all submarines are boats and they also have to carry their own atmosphere with them which is exactly what you get with a spaceship...darn it.

And then Mal kicks him into the engine. There always seems to be a scene or 2 like this each show that let's you know it's not the same old formula.

2018-12-06 21:00:01 +0000 UTCInteresting you question why they keep calling it a boat (presumably as its a sea term), which raises the point, why assume 'ship' which is equally a sea term. As it is, ships in the earth sense tend to be registered official vessels, like in the navy, and boats, tend to be smaller and things that are independently owned, so they might be going with that.

Mal kicking Crow into the engine was the point where I was hooked. Up until that point it seemed like an average scifi story.
