She wasn't happy about saying it. I've also never liked the GoT comparisons. The books were written before ASOIAF and outside of medieval style combat there is no real comparison.

Oh and yes it is a popular game series, especially Witcher 3, and those are loosely based off the books. You can almost call them an unofficial sequel to the books. This show is more directly connected to the books.
