The Royals are the Major bad guys. They are humans that for centuries have used Wessen as their tools. Their primary soldiers are the Hundjager (the German guy), they are canine Wessen. The Royals use their influence to control corrupt organizations, dictators, evil Wessen, whatever they deem necessary to increase their power. The resistance (Ian) is a group of Wessen that have (for centuries) fought against the Royals to limit their power. The Royals are divided into 7 families that sometimes fight each other for power but also team up on occasion to fight common foes.
